When I first came to this office, I was scared about my issue that was going on, but Dr. Lapworth was so amazing talking to me about my diagnosis and my treatment plan. She is the best. She made me walk out of that office with hope. I am going to miss her since I recently went for my 2nd Post-Op visit and was informed she will no longer be there after August, which bummed me out. Went in today to get information about fertility and Dr Lapworth was great! She answered all my questions was professional and was easy to talk to. From the moment I walked in, the front desk receptionist Alicia greeted me with a friendly smile and checked me in right away. I didnt wait long to be seen. From the clean reception area to the staff this is a place where some feel comfortable and welcomed. The nurse practitioner/midwife was amazing (Christa Beck)! She was very supportive and answering all the questions my daughter had. She took the time to explain the physiology of pregnancy, since the is my daughter's first baby, and helping her to be at ease with all the changes in her body. I've been coming to Marina OBGYN over the past 4 years for multiple pregnancies. A lot of the reviews do mention some of the recent restructuring and appointment cancelations, but I specifically highly recommend this Redondo Blvd location in Torrance. Any time there is an appointment change, Alicia who works at the front makes it her personal responsibility to ensure I still have a workable appointment. When you become a patient here, you know you are under her care too!! I have seen both Christa Beck (a midwife) and Dr. Jessica Lapworth who have both been phenomenal and thorough providers. The nurses/techs who take your blood and do your vitals are also super helpful and personable. Happy to say that I can count on all of them to help me through these times!! read more

From the time that I walked in the receptionist Alicia greeting me with a positive attitude and thanked me for coming on time, to having me checked in and saw the NP Irene in a timely manner. I was in and out in record time. I want to say about 45 minutes or less. I've never experienced such efficient fast service before I highly recommend this location. Marina OB-GYN in Torrance has been the best experience in terms of receiving care for my OB-GYN needs. I was referred to this location by my doctor after my previous OB-GYN was no longer accepting any new patients due to reaching capacity. At first, I was apprehensive because as a neurodivergent person, changes always make me nervous. However, when I arrive at the facility, I was immediately greeted by Alicia, the receptionist, and asked to fill out some forms. Alicia is always very helpful, kind, and upbeat. I love chatting with her for a few minutes, if she has the time! I didn't have to wait very long and filling out the paperwork was pretty straightforward and quick. The facilities are very clean and there is usually ample seating. They also have a large TV you can watch while you wait, and wait times are usually pretty fast. I never have to wait more than 10 minutes, which is great. When I am brought inside, I usually get my blood pressure done and have my weight taken. On occasion, they will ask for a urine sample. There are at least two bathrooms which are very clean and modern. The waiting rooms are also clean, albeit very cold, so if you get cold very easily, I advise taking a jacket or sweater to wear while you wait. Dr. Lapworth is a very kind doctor who is aware of my accommodation needs and never fails to fulfill them. She is smart, compassionate, and very knowledgeable about her practice. I like that she lays out my options for treatment, and I never feel pressured to accept whatever treatment is given without question. Whatever questions I may have are answered in a clear and concise manner, which is so important to me as a neurodiverse person. Information makes me feel safe. I can aggregate information and make a decision about my care based on whatever information I'm presented with. She is also very communicative about what to expect during procedures and is hyperaware of what sensations these may cause and communicates it so that I know what to expect. At the end of the visit, I understand what next steps need to be taken. I am able to check out relatively fast and go on with my day. Typically, it takes 45 minutes to an hour for everything to be done. Parking can be a bit of an issue, depending on what time of the day you go. They have a small parking lot down the end of the little alleyway behind the Carl's Jr., which is usually available if I schedule my appointment earlier in the day. In the afternoons, I usually have to find street parking and pay attention to the signs posted about dates and time. Overall, my experience is consistently very pleasant when I go to Marina OB-GYN. I feel I am receiving the utmost care and feel that the team are professionals who provide a high caliber of excellence in healthcare. I would highly recommend Marina OB-GYN to anyone who needs to be seen for any of their OB-GYN needs! read more

Poor service. Nightmare to schedule an appointment. Can not see a medical doctor on nurse practitioner or physician assistant.

The office was easy to find and parking behind the building proved easy because it was fairly empty. The lot is small and might be problematic if the office is busy. The staff was nice and the NP provided good information during our consultation. My only issue is the out of pocket fee which was $250 for a consultation, and I'm told it's the same fee for ongoing appointments. For that price, I wish they took labs and ultrasounds in the office to make the fee more palatable. read more

Marina Obgyn is part of my network. Once I got the referral for the gynecologist, it was easy to make an appointment. The wait was less than 10 minutes. I was experiencing hot flashes and interested in hormone therapy. Dr. Jessica Lapsworth was the gynecologist. She seemed knowledgeable about hormone therapy and perimenopause. Dr. Lapsworth prescribed hormone therapy. This stopped my night sweats so I can finally get a good nights rest. When I had to up my dosage, I was able to talk to Dr. Lapsworth via phone. The actual office can be difficult to find and is paid parking. For my 2nd in person visit I needed to up my medicaion and saw midwife Jessica Tong. She was friendly and upped my perimenopause medication. I would suggest arriving 10 minutes early in case it's difficult to find the office. read more

Don't get me wrong, the staff the doctor amazing. The office front and back clean. BUT save your time and gas lady's. If you don't have a ride for pick AND drop off please try a different location. I spent over 30 minutes looking for parking. They do have a small 8 car parking lot which is always full. You can't park in the neighborhood because you need a permit if not you get a ticket. There's a swat meet next door so forget abt street parking. I called 10 times!! To see if I can have a grace period while I was looking for parking or if I could reschedule but no one answer. And I wasn't the only one circling the area. It was just to difficult. read more

I was waiting until my pregnancy was over to see how long the unprofessionalism would go for. First the receptionist here are bland and show no interest in being at work, the nurses that take vitals are super unprofessional, they don't show bedside manner, and hardly talk to patients. Always seems so rushed and they never upload lab results, it got to the point where I would have to physically call and ask if they have my lab work done. Another thing I don't like is how can they ask us to download the patient portal, and if we have any questions to ask the provider through the app and still have to wait until the next appointment to get an answer. Only provider I liked here was Christa beck, she took in what I would be concerned about serious. The office will say they "called" when they don't. Overall I recommend the Hawthorne location for better treatment. read more

My wife and I have been coming to this OB since we found out she was pregnant and all I can say is they make my wife feel the most comfortable and valued here at Marina, any questions or concerns we have we receive very well understanding responses. Marina is nothing short of a great OB coming from a husband that comes to every appointment with their wife and witness first hand the phenomenal treatment and care from the front desk staff specifically Alicia and to the care of Dr. Beck.
