I'd recommend turning in to the hotel driveway and parking in their car park. Of course this is ticketed so you will need to pay. Good news is you don't have to be a guest to use the car park so you can drive straight in and take a ticket. The restaurant is spacious and open plan. It is welcoming and certainly the decor is modern and interesting by design. One small complaint, being of mature age I appreciate a comfortable and padded chair when out for dinner and the chair I had was neither. After a couple of hours my backside was needing a break! Anyway, the menu is limited but diverse. All the dishes were interesting and appealing. I had the only steak on the menu which was a 500 gram t-bone. I was in a party of eight so two others ordered the t-bone... in total two medium and one rare. Others in the party ordered fish, bugs and chicken. We also ordered some starters which was a sweet potato hummus and a fava bean and anchovy dip. Bread was an organic sourdough with cultured butter. All were delicious. Mains arrived all at once which is a real necessity in my books however the waiter could not identify which of the three steaks was the rare one. He simply placed one down in front of the person who ordered it and said "that should be it". One diner received an incorrect meal which was promptly returned to the kitchen and replaced with the correct one. No real drama, these things can happen. All diners enjoyed their meals with no complaints whatsoever. The portions were generous and all were visually appealing. My steak was delicious., cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. The meals don't come with sides so we ordered a mix of different dishes including asparagus, roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes and carrots. All were delicious. In terms of drinks the beer and wine lists were extensive and well represented. Service was efficient and slightly ambiguous. Whilst everyone was pleasant I didn't see anyone smile or engaging in terms of recommendations when requested. In all, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a slightly upmarket but relaxing atmosphere with great views, excellent food and a very good list of wines and beers.

Served in a sundae glass it felt a lot more "naughty" and calorie-laden than it actually was and the frozen whipped banana (a great recipe with ridiculous ease) gives this a creamy sensation without the regret later in the day! Verdict: The coffee is consistent and for commuters stoping enroute to the train, this is key. The menu is cute and quirky and from my experience today backs it up with the goods. Four weeks in since opening, locals have clearly adopted this new kid on the block as their own and there's already customer / barista first-name-basis relationships in action. But, to be honest, it didn't blow me away. It's a great staple for locals but not for a trip to visit here alone.

Coffee is Genovese and is consistently great. Food is tasty and reasonable portions for reasonable prices. There are often specials on the board so check those out.

The moment you signal that you're ready to order (sailing a little flag on the boat which decorates the table) the waiters swoop in. It's nice because you aren't heckled or bothered like in the USA. When you are ready to order, the mast goes up and the service comes running. The restaurant is pretty loud because of the concrete floors, so I try to avoid it on the weekends or grab a table outside if at all possible. The gyros are delicious, I recommend the chicken and the vegetarian. Cheap, generous and tasty- Mediterranean done well.

I opted for the Truffled Cheese Toastie with gruyere cheese and truffled salsa. It was presented on a wooden board with fresh greens and red onion to help liven it up. My beverage was aptly named "Sunshine" and contained a mixture of pineapple, orange, apple and strawberry. All up I paid $22.50 for my breakfast and was happy with the serving size and quality of everything. It was fairly quiet at that point with most of Bulimba at work, but I can imagine it getting busier on weekends or Friday afternoons for after-work drinks and food. My toastie was golden and crunchy and the truffle filling was gorgeously decadent when paired with the copious amounts of gruyere. Surprisingly I ate all of the greens and found they helped avoid getting overwhelmed with the big flavours on my plate. The juice was fresh with just the right balance between the fruits and was definitely filling for what I paid. Service was friendly and accommodating and the food arrived quickly. As we were paying our bill I noticed an array of baked goods in the front cabinet with some interesting looking gluten-free options. They have a small table offering loads of pens and colouring in books to entertain the children and there were quite a few families with small children there and is obviously one of those children friendly cafés Mum's and Dad's seek out, without fearing dirty looks from those around them. The coffee really was very smooth..........I am a skinny flat white drinker and it really hit the spot and was just delicious. I was so hungry after the gym I thought I was going to cry as my tummy told me it was going to start to digest itself if I did not eat immediately. I therefore went for "The Revival Beast" offering free range bacon, cassoulet, mushroom, organic poached eggs, triple cooked chips & toasted organic sourdough. Oh yes................my tummy thanked me for this choice. Tasty and was really pleased to be presented with a very generous portion size. There's about 8 different avocado on toast combos on their menu, I went with Number 3: smoked salmon, feta and avocado. Plum Tucker is casual and cool like the impossibly twee friend we all have. They're on trend but they're aloof about it - they don't need to sing it from the roof top for it to be true. It's a cafe I know I'll come back to again and enjoy feeling like I'm away from the bustle of the outside world while squirreled away in this former cottage.

Their steaks are excellent, especially when served with a side of fried and garden greens. Prices are around $25 for a main except for their 1kg Wagyu which is expensive but very popular. These days I come out here late at night for a coffee and dessert. It's great to find crème brulee or Crepes Suzette in the middle of suburban China town. The staff here are flexible and don't mind me taking a table just for coffee and dessert even though they could be easily packed out with dinner diners. They also do a variety of cakes - but these are your 'Coffee Club' style cheesecakes so you'd be much better off ordering a dessert of the menu.
