Although I previously reviewed this market, I felt it deserved an updated critique. I used to alternate between North Shore Farms in Whitestone and this store. No longer. I consistently shop at Marino's. The only product I miss is the option to purchase unpackaged fish and sushi. The bread here is very fresh and varied. The meat selection is plentiful. The vegetables well stocked and nice looking. Where this store shines (hold on I need to put my sunglasses on) is the deli/prepared foods department. Not only do most of the prepared foods (mostly Italian) look good, but they are good ... very good. As for the deli, most of their employees know their business (I worked supermarket deli/seafood for 3 years so I know competence). Always a pleasure to be helped by the deli crew. Shout out to Dennis, the deli manager, and thanks for adding more mayo to the chicken salad. And finally, what a fine crew of check out staff. See you folks next week. read more

We placed a catering order from Marino's Supermarket about a week from our family event. We were hosting about 15 people so our order was substantial. Placing the order: It was fairly easy to place our order though it was a tad slow. The person taking our order was multitasking and put us on hold a few times. That was a little annoying, but otherwise seamless. They charged our credit card for our order shortly thereafter. We called to confirm our order the day before. Everything was confirmed. Morning of the event: About 10 minutes from our scheduled delivery time, Marino's Supermarket called to tell me they were going to be 30-45 minutes late because they forgot a part of our order. They were making it as we spoke, hence I took a star away. I asked if they could deliver the order without it, but the person said they were already working on it. Luckily the party was mostly family, otherwise it would have been a big issue. They sent one person for delivery for a 15 person party. The poor guy had to take at least 3-4 trips up to our apartment to bring everything up. The food: Everything tasted great and was nicely presented. The cost: Very reasonably priced in my opinion Overall: They were OK. I hope the snafu with our missing item was a one off because otherwise they were great! read more

A sandwich that used to weigh something and cost under $10, today cost 14.50 and weighed nothing, a quarter inch of meat, 1 paper thin slice of cheese, a trace of lettuce, no onion that I ordered. Why does everything have to get worse. If you have to raise the price, maintain at least some quality. Less for more is a rotten business model. read more

The place is well stocked and the lines move quickly as the staff is the epitome of kind, patient and efficient in doing their jobs. You want ingredients to make your braciole? They got you covered. Fresh produce and a well set up deli offer up your favorite cuts of Salami, Soppresata, prosciutto, pepperoni and capicola or if you're a fan of the cable show "The Sopranos" you may know it more lovingly refer to as "Gabagool" I was excited to find my Gia Anchovy paste. If you never used anchovy paste you're missing out! The market recently opened up so everything inside is clean and well stocked. This location was the previous home of D'Alessandros meat market. Marino's is set up just like your neighborhood supermarket but offers quality imported items from Italy. The deli looks like it's well stocked and they also do catering. We love their original market in Flushing North. We love this new one as well. It's small compared to the typical supermarket. But, it's has everything you need. And, it's got that neighborhood feel to it. It's clean, orderly, has friendly staff, a nice produce section, and a great looking deli section. There's no parking lot, but street parking is usually not problematic. It's a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Love this little supermarket they have the best homemade soups and sauces. The mushroom soup is so good. This isn't really a place to go for groceries because it's very small but the deli and their fresh food is very good. I like their pastas and fresh breads. My husband gets his deli meats here every week because he says they are fresher than other places. read more

Racist people working in this supermarket. It's my first time visiting this place to check out what they have. Things are on the expensive side. I decide not to get anything from this store as I will visit Hmart on my next stop. Anyway, I think because I leave the store without buying anything and because I m not white, after I step out of the store, an employee came out of the store to check my bag. I feel so violated since they basically accusing me of stealing. So don't go to this store. Store employees should check their stupid security cam instead of checking people personal bag or purse. Decided to grab a sandwich from this place because I was in a hurry, apparently the people who made this sandwich were as well. For some reason they used white bread, wrapped in wax paper and allowed it to become soggy. Not just a little sweat but soaked to the point of being inedible. Pandemic forced me to cook at home and I found I am good at it lol. I am being around in Flushing for a long time. I have shopped at many different markets. There are cons and pros. The pros in Marino's ; I like to shop Häagen-Dazs ice cream and they have great price and selection and well organized, their banana has better quality than anywhere else, even though I don't buy bread often they have decent selection. Oh I love their marinated chicken. They are sooo good with my new air frier lol. I love to shop Marino's meat, any kind of meat, their quality is great. They are not like food bazaar or other giant market, that is why I love it. I feel more like I am in neighbor. If it make sense to you. I started shopping there when COVID first hit us. Nobody really knew what was going on and I figured smaller was better so decided to go to Marino's instead of one of the bigger chains like Stop & Shop or Key Food. I was pleasantly surprised that they had everything I needed and at prices similar or better to the big supermarkets plus weekly sales circulars. The store is clean, neat and stocked with anything and everything you can imagine. The employees are pleasant, very helpful and polite. I do my weekly shopping there every weekend for my family and will continue to do so instead of going back to the bigger guys. Marino's was there when I needed to feel safe shopping and I will continue to patronize them as my one and only. read more

I walked in to the Supermarket to check one thing I need and did not find it. So I left without buying anything. I was stopped by the manager at the cashier to ask to have my bag check for no apparent reason other than i did not buy anything. I told the manager that he could check all the close circuit TV that they had to monitor the shopper. He insisted to check my bag without any apparent reason except to tell me that he checked EVERY customer's bag. I found that statement to be absurd. His staff checked and found NOTHING. NOTHING! I live in the neighborhood and want to support local store but this experience at the Marino Supermarket was so bad that I would not want to step into this store again. Their way of treating customers as potential criminals was horrendous. I am a minority and wonder if that is the reason that I was targeted. read more

I don't live in the area but tried shopping here because it's on the way to a diner I ate outside at. What a great place to shop. The staff is helpful and responsible. Very clean. Everyone wears gloves and masks. Good selection especially for a small place. The prepared food is way above average. Chicken salad was excellent. Before stew also excellent. Today at 2:30 waiting online with a ticket #12 at the cold cut counter in the rear of the store we encountered a rude black-masked young man behind the counter. He rapidly & loudly yelled "Number 12! #12! 12! 12!" From behind a large sign obscuring his sight of the other 2 people waiting on line. My husband was answering "Here!" as he held up his #12 ticket. I raised my hand pointing to my husband clearly in his line of sight. As he walked over to my husband he scolded "How many times do I have to say #12?!" My husband explained how he was saying "here" but evidently he didn't hear my husband's response. The dark skinned young man then rudely told my husband "The ticket belongs in the garbage can over there!" (Pointing Across from the counter). Why was he so rude? We had just watched as every customer before us had given their ticket to the servers prior to making their order. That was it - my husband had had enough. Who did this kid think he was talking to-treating a customer as a nuisance? (We've been Marino customers since 1989 at their other store.). It was shocking & very needless on this young man's part to say the least. Mr. Marino Sr. would never stand for such employee rudeness. Times are changing and we will have to shop elsewhere. It's a shame, such a wonderful family who has served our community for so many years has bowed to the spoiled behavior of today's generation. read more

Love their new store! The shelves are always fully stocked and organized very well. Everybody from the Cashiers, Stockers, and Deli workers are extremely helpful and pleasant. Their prices are great too! And, most importantly, the store is CLEAN which draws me to it more than a big name Supermarket. Thanks to the Marino Brothers for opening up a second store and bringing greatness to the neighborhood. I wish they'd take back the store they sold a long time ago on 192nd Street and Station Road because with the recent new owner, that place is a nightmare. Anyway, thank you and God Bless you all.
