Showed a photo of what I was looking for, dismissed it and did something completely different. They cut my hair a lot shorter, I didn't ask to cut the length of my hair I only wanted long layers and curtain bangs. I did not get that. $40 for a haircut, I could have cut better myself. read more

Honestly my Aunt recommended this place they did good on her but not on me I asked for something so simple and the amount of hair spray they used was unbelievable might as well spray the whole damn bottle over my head, they made me look like a 40 year old and were so rude. They made fun of the way my family had gotten there makeup done for a quince. My sisters hair looked like a bees nest, they over exaggerated the hair looks way too much. read more

I've seen this salon transform from a small little cubicle (back in the day) to a bigger, stylish looking salon right on Gardena Blvd. Mario/ Betty (the owner, hence the name), happens to be my uncles ex-brother-in law. I didn't know him until I stepped into his salon for a last minute hair cut. And he's really good at what he does! He's very professional and friendly. Cut my hair in what seemed seconds and styled it to perfection. And all for $20. Everyone was complimenting my new hair-do. So I started going there for cuts and a dye job. Very friendly staff. Best time to go is during the week when business is not to busy. If you want Mario to do the job, make sure to call for an appointment, because he may be booked and you'll have to get serviced by the other staff. But don't worry, the staff is just as good, but Mario is the best. He has been in the business for 15+ years. read more

I will go ahead and revise my post since the owners are trying to cover up the mistakes that they made: Do not trust them with your hair for a big day!! I went here a week before and asked if they would be able to do that hairstyle and she said yes. Betty cut my hair so that it could be ready for my wedding day. The day comes my appointment was at 10:00, she didn't start until 10:40, and finished at 11:35. After rushing it home to do my makeup and finished getting ready, which was 1:29 when I took the picture, my hair was FLAT. Not only did Betty start 40 minutes late on my hair, but she did not do the hairstyle that I wanted. I called and they told me that I should have gotten there earlier than my appointment time, or go back after my ceremony to get it fixed. It wasn't possible for me to go back all the way from Santa Ana with all of my guest at my reception already. She charged me $75 dollars for something that I could have done at home and would have held up a lot more than this! Betty did not tell me that this hairstyle wouldn't be able to be done the day that I went to go cut my hair. That's why I went a WEEK BEFORE to ask her. She told me that it could definitely be done. The day of my wedding, when she was almost done curling my hair, I asked her if it would eventually look like the picture; since I noticed that they were just regular curls. That's when she told me that my hair was too thin and that hairstyle couldn't be done on my hair. I spoke to BETTY when I cut my hair, NOT KARLA. AGAIN, I went the week before and not once did she say that it wasn't possible to do that on my hair!! read more

So my mom dragged me to this place. I asked for color, cut, and Mario-Betty-asked if I wanted highlights...I said, yeah, fine. It took FOREVER (three hours), and the highlights were done in a way I've never seen before, but the shop was BUSY the whole time (Saturday morning), and they did everything...men's cuts, up-dos, wedding-dos, quincinieras, older women, older men, kids...everything! They even had some guys come in selling fruit to everyone. I did like the cut in the end...Mario has a good hand with scissors. And while I about flipped out with the highlights since I wasn't sure what they would look like (it was much brighter than I thought it'd be), I like it now...it took a moment to get used to. But the chemicals they used to do the color were super harsh...I could feel my head burning...and they didn't put any creme around the edges, so part of my forehead got colored too. As far as cost, total for cut, color, highlights was $125.00, so I guess that was reasonable. But if I went back to Creative Cuts, it'd probably be just a bit more, and I would have the 'total' salon experience and NOT have my head burned off! Not sure what I'll do at this point...HAVE gotten some nice compliments on the hair... read more

Betty has great hands and leaves your hair looking beautiful after a hair cut (blow dry and styled). 20$ for a hair cut and is very much worth it considering her work. The hair cut comes out looking good but one she cuts however much she likes and two she pulls and yanks out soo much hair! She's not careful at all! So much she yanked both my earrings out and didn't even apologize. Never again! read more

They don't provide standard pricing for blowout over the phone. I mean even a price range would help to try to schedule appointment over the phone as it was intended to be a surprise visit for my mom. Not very helpful in my opinion and a little rude over the phone. read more

This is my go to salon. It was recommended to me by a friend, who by the way had the most beautiful hair. So I went and had Betty do whatever she wanted to cut and style my hair. She cut my hair in a flash, blow dried and styled and I was done in 15-20 minutes! I got loads of compliments on my cut and style and go whenever I need a trim or restyle. Been going now for about 15 years! The price is super reasonable and I'm in and out in no time (love it). I hate sitting in a salon chair for hours, wondering if the person taking their time knows what they are doing. Love this place and Betty has magic hands as far as a hair cut goes, my hair is healthy thick now and grows like crazy. I would 100% recommend this place and Betty for the hair cuts! read more
