I've been coming to Deborah since 1999, and I honestly didn't even realize she had a Yelp page until now! She absolutely deserves this review. For more than 25 years, Deborah has been incredibly consistent. She always makes my hair look beautiful, but more importantly, she has always helped me keep it healthy. She has been through ALL my hair eras Blonde, brown, dark brown, almost black, and everything in between. One of my favorite looks was when she did my light brown hair with highlights. I would constantly get stopped by people asking where I got my hair done. That's actually how so many of my friends and colleagues ended up going to Deborah too, and many of them still go to her today. She is extremely talented with color, cuts, and beautiful extensions. I also have very curly hair, so having someone who truly knows how to cut curly hair without having you walk out looking like a mushroom is KEY! Deborah gets it. Total Beauty Salon was the best accident that could have happened to me. Long story short I'm getting married 7/30/2022 I've had so many bad experiences with hair salons that I wanted to get a head start on my hair. I went to one salon to get a quote on extensions and they hadn't updated their advertising and no longer had someone to do extensions however the owner of this place referred me to (hair angel ) Debora and told me she was a specialist with hair extensions and that she had about 30 years experience. At this point; panic mode kicked in and was like great here we go to another salon. But turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, Debora is a beautiful person and can she work miracles!!, my hair looked like I got into a fight with the weed whacker and doubtfully thought there's no way she can fix this mess, wow did she prove me wrong. I walked out of there a whole new person and not just cause i felt like one but cause I looked like a totally different person. My fiancée was amazed, he had to close his eyes to look again. I am more than thrilled with the results of my cut-and-style! Deborah is truly the best at handling a range of curly types; my hair has different textures (two varieties of curl, small ringlet and large spiral, and a deep wave), and my layered cut looks great! I had 13" of hair cut off in October '15 for donation; cut and styled by Fantastic Sam's (what a *mistake*), but the stylist there clearly didn't understand what I wanted or how to cut hair with various textures, and I've been unhappy with the lack of definition since. I called on a Tuesday and Deborah had an appointment for me on Saturday of the same week! I gathered from other reviews that she's usually booked a week or so in advance, so I was really pleased to get an appointment so soon. Deborah fixed my lackluster cut with no difficulty at all, and was also able to recommend a texturizer spray [AFFINAGE Salt Spray] (which also manages frizz - YES!) that cuts down my product use and style time considerably (always a bonus). It's been a week since my haircut, and my hair still looks great! It's healthy, much lower-maintenance, and has tons of body and texture. Thank you, Deborah! Deborah did an AMAZING job with my hair. First of all, she's been in the business for a long time and knows what she is doing. She can hook you up so well and the best part is her products are natural and not harmful/drying. She educates you on your hair type if you ask decent questions and strike up a conversation with her and it's best that you do that so that you can understand how to take better care of your hair type. Scheduled an appointment, showed up and was told she wouldn't be able to see me before she had to leave for a church outing. I went back the next day and for my cut and color. I showed pictures and described what I wanted and what I got was far from what I described or showed. During the entire visit, she had you tube videos on that were Anti Hillary Clinton. They were just any anti Hillary videos they were videos talking about her being a child molester and her and Bill being in the slave trade. It was crazy and it went on for hours, just playing the next you tube video that was anti Hillary. I don't care who you vote for but I don't need or want to hear crazy stuff like that. My hair was styled in a way that it looked great while I was in her low light studio. When I got home, another story. I couldn't believe what I looked like. I called Deborah the next day and she said I could come in and she would fix it. She fixed it by putting the same color on my head so it hid nothing. I couldn't believe it ... she didn't listen to my complaint at all. I still tipped her because I'm not going to stiff anyone that is doing a service for me. After spending $150, I went to Ralph's at midnight and bought a dark brown box dye to cover up the bad hair job. read more

Her cuts are perfection; her color is always right on; her highlights are incomparable; and, her eyebrow shaping is always fabulous. She has worked with my hair from long to short, short to medium, curly to straight, straight to wavy, and from dark brown to light brown to showing some grey (only momentarily) and back to brown again. Each time I walk out of her shop, I am empowered. What speaks volumes for her ability is that even weeks after I have had my appointment with Deborah, and as my hair is growing out, the style and cut remains and my hair still looks great and is easy to style. She works magic with cowlicks, hair flaws, thinning areas and maintains a holistic approach to my entire head of hair. Her focus has always been to make me happy and make me look the best I can look.
