Mario's for the win!!! Unassuming Pizza Star After an early family party, my husband and I were hungry and wanted a snack, before we watched a movie for the night. Was on my drive to Walmart to just pick up something and detoured in seeing Mario's light on. Came in deliciously clutch!! Time was after 8pm (maybe closer to 9pm) The pizza was made fresh and to order, a cheese with mushrooms. Chit chatty staff. Ok, don't look around inside, lolol, but found the food wasn't a risk. But a reward. Brought the pie home & was so excited for my find, and ourselves we ate almost the whole pizza. Mario's pizza shop is like stepping into a very traditional Italian experience I have often arrived early for my order and have enjoyed listening to the different conversations and soaking in the tasteful decor. The staff makes you feel right at home and often engages you in conversation while you are waiting. The staff also seems to take great pride in their community and is often a source of great things upcoming and happening! My favorite dish would have to be pretty simple and that is their cheese pizza if I am feeling very fancy, I may add the mushrooms, but again the pizza itself is so authentic and great. I don't feel the need to venture or mess with a perfect combination of flavors for a very reasonable price these days! We got pizza from here first (take out) and were waiting forever. Tried again and got a sandwich to go- it was good but I almost didn't eat it after seeing the inside of the place- looks like a third world country. The counters are cluttered with dirty dishes and food containers, no AC and no gloves in sight. It doesn't look clean or at all organized. Wow. It doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you. The food here is excellent. We got a large pizza (meatballs/cheese) and a large Italian Stromboli. When you order large here, you get LARGE. The portions are huge. I am from CT, and I know good pizza. The sauce was excellent, the cheese generous, and the crust was soft, thin, and delicious. 5 stars for the pizza. Never had anything else from here but the pizza is just the way I like it. The place definitely looks old and tired but that doesn't matter to me. The guy who makes the pizza also looks old and tired but that doesn't matter to me either. What does matter is that he knows what he's doing when it comes to making pizza. He's not some punk kid who decided to start making pizza with food supplies from Sysco, I.e. the pizza will taste like every other white boy pizza shop. Don't let the dreary atmosphere inside deter you. I rarely see too many people eat in and there is generally lots of take out. I'll have to try an Italian hoagie to see how it goes. read more

How does Marios have NO reviews? I adore Marios and I live on the other side of the country. When we fly here (growing up it was very frequent-almost once a year) Marios is one of the first things on my mind. Over the years I have eaten Marios pizza Several times and it is consistently excellent. Not like anything I can get here. Afted a recent trip I remembered that I had not reviewed this place. I put a search in for best Pizza in Boyertown and Mario's came up number one. When I arrived the Pizza order was incorrect. It is easy to confuse Pepperoni for Peppers over the phone. Then when I handed my credit card they told me cash only. They sent me across the street to the ATM. I was thinking this Pizza better be really good since I was charged $3.00 for the ATM fee. Well I was really impressed when I picked up the box and it was really heavy. I thought this pizza must be huge. Not only was it huge, it was fantastic! Nice crust, generous toppings, good cheese! When I paid for my order they gave me a price break since they made an error. I will now be ordering my Pizzas here. They most definitely do have the BEST pizza in Boyertown! read more

How this place has stayed in business so long amazes me. Lousy food, rude owners, horrible ambiance, (even for a pizza shop) not to mention uncomfortably hot, and to top it off they only accept cash. With the many other pizza options, only blocks away, i cant see any reason to go back to marios. read more
