This surgeon is beyond terrific!!! This doctor saw me in the…read moretrauma center of the ER after a devastating injury to my arm. I should've lost my arm. I should've bled to death, not only am I here to leave this review I have nearly fully recovered from the injury, which severed all the arteries and tendons in my lower right forearm and to make matters worse or more fantastic depending on how you look at it, he had to do the surgery essentially twice because I developed a bleed in one of the arteries post first surgery, but I am alive to tell the tale. I should?ve lost my arm at a minimum his manner was exemplary. He was straightforward, clear, concise, and caring all at the same time and the night that I was there, this was actually the second severe trauma to an arm. He had to work on a young lady had lost all of the skin in a deegloving incident prior to my arrival and he patched that girl up if you need an orthopedic surgeon for anything you would be very, very hard-pressed to find a more capable careful and talented Dr.

I was diagnosed with Dupuytren's contracture by Dr. Verheyden, presenting as a minor condition in…read moremy pinky finger. He recommended an injection treatment. During the procedure, he identified what he described as an additional "flat node" in my ring finger and suggested injecting that as well, which I agreed to. Ten days after the procedure, I experienced what I believed to be a rupture in my ring finger. Dr. Verheyden assessed the symptoms as part of the normal healing process. After three follow-up appointments with the same assessment, I sought an MRI, which revealed complete ruptures of the A2, A3, and A4 pulley tendons in my ring finger, as well as a complete rupture of the A2 pulley in my pinky finger. I subsequently required reconstructive surgery on the A2 pulleys in both fingers, using a graft from my palmaris longus tendon. Since the surgery, I have experienced approximately 50% reduced grip strength, limited flexion in my ring finger, and ongoing pain.
