So much more room for the vendors and buyers. The verity of sellers easily doubled which brings in more folks, win win. Salinas Valley being the Salad Bowl the veggie and fruit vendors are disproportionate too the food and gift vendors. Hoping that will change. Living easily within walking distance this is a perfect Saturday morning walk. Last words...community.

We have always loved the farm. Have gone there years for their amazing gift shop. The nostalgic toy area is so fun to look through but all the other things they have in the back room are beautifully displayed and reasonably priced. Very excellent fresh veggies, and other condiments that they have for sale. But the pies are off the Chart. The fruit pies are well worth the 25 or so dollars they cost they're huge. They're deep dish they're fresh the delicious the large size pot pies are amazing but I love it when I can get the miniatures for $7.95 for one. They are just adorable. They heat up well and they taste delicious. All around really beautiful place. If you go at the end of the summer, they have all you can pick flower days for like five dollars for all the flowers you could pick and they're absolutely beautiful they have tours for little kids and at Halloween they have beautiful pumpkins that you can go out and pick yourself for an amazing experience and memory with your kids.

The vendor was so kind in giving us a variety of cheeses to try and we were too tempted not to get anything. We picked up 1/2 lb each of the raclette and truffle gouda. The cheese is on the pricier side but loved the flavors and the truffle gouda is one of the best truffle cheese I've had! So excited to eat the raclette on a baguette and make some fancy mac & cheese with the truffle gouda. The food trucks are great as well (definitely get Big Sur Taco) and overall just such a nice stop if you're in the area on a Sunday!

It's very busy, but there's lots of parking the Safeway center has several other restaurants there that are very busy on Sunday mornings too. We went on the day after the Fourth of July and unfortunately, most of the food trucks were not there. There was about five rows of stands a mixture of local homemade arts and crafts and jewelry, lots of beautiful produce, and lots of different snack foods. There is an amazing array of cinnamon rolls with different toppings. Bagels, cookies, coffee and there was one food truck that sold empanadas, etc. They looked really good and had a large variety. The highlight for me was the cheese whiz lady. She had about 15 different cheeses and she's very generous with allowing you to sample before you buy. It is a little pricey about $15 a quarter pound but the cheeses were so unique and unusual and tasted so good. I didn't mind spending the $45 for three different pieces. I got the three-year aged Gouda, which has a very flavorful caramel burst on the tongue and a delicious nutty aftertaste. I also got the blue cheese from New Zealand and Tanzania and had a very unique sharp, but smooth flavor and was a great addition to any food that I put it on. It crumbled easily and added a musky power burst to every bite. I also got an unusual Swiss cheese called Chällerhocker which has a pale, ivory interior with small holes and a thin, brine-washed rind. Its flavor profile is nutty, sweet, and slightly tangy, with hints of brown butter and caramel. It goes from Sweet to musky and then has a delicious aftertaste.

With so many other farmers markets in the country and Santa Cruz County too Marina is not my go too or favorite. Two of the vegetable vendors couldn't break a fifty. So I just moved on. Super majority of food vendors are serving Mexican food which is great...if that's what you want. No diversity. I get it, it's not about me, I'm sure many count on this market. Our favorites were the Golden Ox homemade Chinese Dumplings ($16 for 10 dumplings , not counting the 4 samples they gave our party which won us over), and we also loved getting cheese at the Cheese Whiz (also after free samples haha!) Also lots of cute products like stickers and plushes, and lots of Latino food too. I think it has less fresh produce than other farmers markets in the East Bay because there's probably lots of fresh produce readily available in this area being close to central valley. I also love that a lot of the businesses along the streets behind the vendors are also open (like coffee shops etc), a really cute family or date to do on a Saturday morning. I immediately had my husband take that exit and check it out. When I saw artichokes artichokes and more artichokes,, I was sold. I went there to look and see what they had. We found so many amazing items! We purchased pasta sauce, artichoke salsa, artichoke focaccia, bread, artichoke bread, artichoke sweet bread, like banana bread, but with artichokes, we bought actual artichokes, artichoke pizza, and mushroom pizza, frozen deep-fried artichokes, a Japanese black watermelon, a cactus plant, artichoke raviolis, and some amazing soft English muffins. Very unique. I know it was a lot, but we don't live close by so we wanted to stock up. What I really like about this place is the friendly people there especially Sara and there was another gal that unfortunately I didn't get her name and the fact that all the artichoke items are from the artichoke fields there and they support local/family bakers and businesses. We also went to the "Choke Coach" it was recommended by Sara. It was on the premises and it was a food truck that primarily sold artichoke related items. I ordered the three artichoke tacos, which were amazing and the grilled artichokes with a lime cilantro dip. Very yummy! My husband ordered a bratwurst sandwich. The people working there, Maria and Bety we're very friendly and great cooks and customer service I was so glad we made that turn off the freeway! This place is a true gem.
