Stopped at Pezzini Farms to buy some fresh artichoke only to be disappointed. It was early Sunday and they had sold out the day before. To not have any artichokes for the rest of the weekend was surprising. The cashier was not friendly nor provide condolences for not having any artichokes. We will go to another farm next time we are in the area.

Do no Farm Roadside farm stand located at the heart of one of Castroville's many farms, with this one being in business since 1929. This Farm is one of the original (maybe *the* original??) farms that started growing Castroville's famous Italian Green Globe Artichokes. The Good: *Bigger than the usual farmstand, as this place is pretty epic with tons of great stuff from not just their own Farm, but other neighboring farms and other local producers. *As fresh as it gets, as most of the produce is grown from within feet to a few miles away. *Artichoke cupcake was delicious! Seriously. Try it. :) The Meh: *Parking lot is smallish but it's ample. *Service was, well, it got the job done and not much beyond that. The Ugly: *Prices are a little high, but I still always try and buy a few things to support them. Conclusion: Definitely worth a stop if your traipsing thru the Central Coast.

I randomly saw Pezzini Farms on Google Maps, so we decided to stop by and see what offerings they had, particularly artichokes as we are in the artichoke country. The fresh artichokes were fairly pricy, but if they were picked more ripe, maybe the flavor would be better than store bought ones. We ended up only purchasing the artichoke focaccia bread (made by Arcangeli's in Pescadero, known for their artichoke breads) for $10. I like that Pezzini Farms had offerings from a lot of local businesses/farms. They are a nice farm store to stop by on your way through Castroville on Hwy 1. The Choke Coach food truck (see my review for them) was parked here offering some artichoke dishes, so my wife and I tried their fried artichoke.

Fun little farm shop in Castroville with lots of artichokes for sale -- and food products and gift shop merchandise. I wanted postcards but no dice. Nice to browse but artichokes are sure a lot more expensive than they used to be. Lovely fields outside the shop with artichokes growing. Cute food truck and a couple of tables.

This is an awesome place to pick up souvenirs or snacks from the area. It's a really pretty store too just to look at. For Christmas I bought my friends and family goodies from here as presents. You can shop online on their store as well.

Upscale little store selling live plants and food products. Pricing tends to run on the higher side but they definitely have some artisanal items that are hard to find elsewhere. Walked out with a jar of blueberry/elderberry jam, two glass vases of Swiss Yogurt locally made in Monterey, a jar of Artichoke Lemon Pesto and some of their Artichoke Bread. The Artichoke Bread honestly was just pound cake with a couple of artichoke pieces mixed in but tasted pretty good regardless. The yogurt was really good! Absolutely 0 additives + high quality milk that you can taste. Haven't tried the jam or the pesto yet but I'm sure those won't disappoint.

Great cute unique jar items and tons of cheese and meats to choose from as well. Free bathroom and even cute cups and olive oil souvenirs.

Cute little roadside stand! Fresh fruit, fresh artichokes & assorted veggies. Cheeses, sauces, pestos, jams, pastas, and fresh baked bread. Beautiful flowers and fun areas for photos. Very friendly service.

In March 2024, I received an email saying that they needed to clear out their bulk storage, and I had the option of receiving all of my salmon at once, or with each regular delivery until it's all gone. I was to reply within a week or the remainder of my supply would be donated. I replied saying sure, send some of it with each regular delivery, to which they replied: "Unfortunately, the season has been closed since last year but, we can definitely send Sockeye or Coho salmon instead." Turns out even though I paid for king salmon AND they claimed that they still had it and needed to clear out storage, they actually didn't have the amount all of their members had pre-purchased in storage, due to "quality concerns" beyond a certain period. Which they NEVER gave me any heads up about until this point. So when their email went out, the first handful of people to reply got the rest of the king salmon, and they wanted me to accept a different variety instead. A couple of months and over a dozen emails later, I finally received a refund for the rest of the salmon I thought I had bought. I'm very disappointed in how this situation was handled. While I see that they now explain the terms more clearly for their bulk sales, with the prioritization of ad-hoc sales over regular subscriptions for product variety and quality, I don't see the value of this service anymore compared to buying fish from my local farmer's market.

From our very first phone call, they brought such fun, sweet, positive energy, and that carried through the entire planning process. They were truly a joy to collaborate with, and their pricing is incredibly reasonable for the level of quality they deliver. I loved their farm-to-table approach, and the fact that they were already so familiar with our venue made everything feel effortless. Planning a destination wedding all the way from Florida to Big Sur could have been stressful, but they made this part of the process an absolute breeze. One thing that really stood out was how present and friendly they were with all of our guests. They were so kind during the buffet service--everyone felt welcomed, and their customer service was exceptional. Our guests could not stop raving about the braised beef and the desserts... truly outstanding! You cannot go wrong with MacDonald Farm. They were a dream to work with, and I cannot wait to share photos once we get them. Michael and Daniel, thank you both for being so genuine, kind, and talented. Both Daniel and Mike were an absolute joy to work with from day one and completely blew away all of our expectations with the most delicious and breathtaking reception dinner for our wedding at the Wind & Sea Estate in Big Sur. The farm-fresh deviled quail eggs garnished with parmesan crisps were an absolute hit! We were also gushing over the glazed chicken meatballs, the strawberry and ricotta kale salad, and their homemade chimichurri sauce... I could go on! We were nervous how we would pull off an elegant dinner without a coordinator at a challenging and remote venue, but Mike and Daniel are truly masters in the kitchen who showed the utmost professionalism from start to finish, making the whole experience easy, fun and so enjoyable. We especially loved how genuinely excited they were to be a part of our wedding instead of feeling like we were just another event - it makes a BIG difference! Mike and Daniel won everyone's hearts over at our wedding, including our other vendors! Nearly every guest or staff member in attendance asked us at one point or another, "How did you find them?!?" That's how memorable they were! We are SO impressed and happy with our experience, and cannot recommend Macdonald Farms enough. We truly found a diamond in the ruff with Mike and Daniel. Thank you both for everything.
