I had read, approximately 3 years ago, that this was one of Bossier's hidden gems. We came here to get breakfast and it met our expectations. I look forward to coming back and enjoying lunch next. I would highly recommend this place. It does hell if you speak a little bit of Spanish to navigate the ordering process. I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time I had fajitas. You could really tell this place has an authenticity to it. All the tables were occupied. Everyone there was Hispanic. (Cept me) I was tucked into a small table in the corner. The TVs were showing soccer. My server probably didn't speak a lot of English. But the food was amazing. So good, I brought my parents on my next visit. The menu had changed, easier to read. Our server really didn't speak much English. She didn't understand my Dad's line of questioning. He's a pretty vocal person and likes to engage the folks around him. She wasn't having it. But we all got our orders. The soup was delicious. My parents both said it was the best they have had in quite a while. And I had to agree. Very good food. read more

I ate here for the 2nd time today and it was still not as good as I wanted it to be. The salsa is not appealing to look at and the taste doesn't make it any better. The first time I ate here i ate a burrito and I was less than impressed with it. This time i had a taco and enchilada combo. The taco was great!!! The enchilada wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Def suggest to shred the chicken better. I also had a tamale and it was hard like it's not fresh. The cheese sauce has a good cheesy taste but is runny like soup. I love Jarritos but even the bottle smelled "old" like it had been sitting next to something old or something that was wet and had been wet for a while. I got a straw for my drink to avoid having the "old" smell hit me as i drank. This will probably be the last time we eat here unless we are coming for the tacos only! read more

An unusual Mexican Seafood restaurant, plain, no where near classey, small, but a fairley large menu. Lots of choices on the menu, both traditional Mexican dishes as well as seafood, including oysters on the half shell, catfish, tilapia, shrimp, and my favorite, red snapper. The picture is of the whole (head, fins and all except the scales and guts)red snapper fried in a garlic sauce, with salad and French fries, $16. Including chips and salsa. The fish dishes are offered cooked three different ways. Another picture is the beef short ribs dish, $14.50. Servers not the most attentive, but the place is small, so they are near. English is a second language for them, so you may need to be clear what you want. Someone able to speak more than one language is amazing. The clientele is mostly Hispanic, so they know what they are doing. Parking right at the door, very casual, prices right, and properly prepared food. One of my favorites, so I go regularly. Have been eight times and was pleased with each of the six dishes that I tried. read more

My fourth visit yesterday. Very unique menu, and I like what is available. I got my usual Red Snapper fried in garlic sauce. It is served whole, head, fins and all! Hard to get the bones out, but good. Menu says with French fries, but it had beans and rice. Menu has nice pictures, and lots to choose from. I didn't care for the chips or the table and chairs. Very small space, not pretty. Seafood cocktails are good, and they have cevecie, which is hard to find. Far from fancy, a bit noisy, but I really like the food. read more

An incredible new Mexican restaurant, Mariscos la Jaibita specializes in Monterrey-style Mexican seafood. Outstanding ceviche, shrimp cocktails, crab stew, and a house specialty called "Sopa de 7 Mares" (soup of seven seas?), which contains seven kinds of seafood, are highlights of the menu. If you're a fan of Mexican beer, you may be interested in knowing that they stock Corona Familial (Corona's banquet beer, only served here in icy quarts) and also make a killer Michelada - like a bloody mary, only with beer instead of vodka. It's not ALL good: the prices are a bit steep ($15-$20 per person), and the Tex Mex items on the menu are, well...Tex-Mex, which I find to be an unholy, bland cuisine across the board. The servers don't speak a lot of English, but they're patient with you if you're patient with them. Oh, and there's live Mariachi music every Thursday night. read more

Probably a family Mexican Restaurant run by family and friends. Located in a small strip mall that caters to the Hispanic crowd, they have been discovered by the Gringo crowd . Not your regular Tex-Mex, but what appears to be more attuned to their cultural heritage. Judy and I stuffed ourselves with more traditional fare, but seafood dishes appear to be where it's really happening! If you want to try some delicious - looking seafood with a Mexican flare-- stop in. There are lunch specials and an evening happy hour. I have eaten at many resteraraunts in the SBC. I had here the best dish in all of the area, possibly the best I have had anywhere. It was the seafood stew wirh crab legs. It was rich with a depth of flavor. The fish melted in my mouth after it was pulled from the bone. The shrimp cocktail was top notch. Top reccommendation read more

This restaurant is the best Mexican restaurant in the Shreveport Bossier area in my opinion. The service was good. Everything was Spanish but it was OK. I couldn't understand the TV or Music lol. The prices are not expensive at all. I had a traditional Mexican dish and my husband had a seafood dish that were both out of this world. It is sort of a hole in the wall so to speak but I have found these are the best restaurant to eat at. I recommend this place completely. read more

First, I have not eaten at this restaurant, but they are not off to good start for English speakers . I've called twice because I wanted to place a Togo order. The phone was hung up in my face twice by someone I guess only speaks Spanish. I speak a little spanish, but I wasn't in the mood to sound like an idiot. I really wanted to try the restuarant. Umm, I had high hopes, but the chips were drenched in grease, and my Grilled Shrimp Fajitas were really hard to eat because the Shrimp weren't peeled and they were way too salty. Also, my husband ordered Beef Fajitas and they tried to give him chicken. Since my meal had already been delivered, he had to sit and watch me eat while he waited for the correct meal. To this restaurant's credit, they have wonderful salsa and their food isn't covered in that gloppy cheese sauce that a lot of restaurants in the area use. They need to turn up the heat on their fryer, and train their servers to make sure they understand the orders. read more

Whatever this place may lack in luxury, it makes up for in spades with its authentic and flavorful food. The salsa is fantastic and I don't say that much since my wife and I own a salsa company. The seafood dishes are among the best I've had anywhere and the service is very good (although it does help to know a bit of Spanish). Greasy chips but really delicious and thick. Salsa is spicy and good. Enchiladas are full of shrimp. Beer was perfect temp; ice crystals formed after opening. Loved it! read more
