Didn't expect to eat here 2 times in one week but I did. Dining alone i had great service. In our group, the waiter was thorough but extremely slow. It was nearly an hour before we put in our orders. I was soooooo disappointed that the Tostaguac had been removed from the lunch menu. It was only $8 and incredible. So I ordered the 2 taco lunch. ($11) with one whole roasted jalapeño. One whole. whole. Roasted. 10 minutes later lunch arrived. With a tiny bit of diced raw jalapeño. ($1.75) Uuughhh. There was a language barrier. But honestly. I had rice and chile relleno. It was the most disgusting food I've had. Not because it isn't real mexican food but because the ingredients were junk. 1.Not only did the rice lack salt but it was hard, taste stale and old. 2. The chile relleno seemed like it was a plastic toy. A reall chile relleno is covered by fluffy egg with a bit of tartar in order to hold its shape. Casa Jimador has covered their chile with what I assume, by the taste, of flour, water and mabe a few drops of eggs. It has the consistency of jello. The chile itself had not been roasted, making it pliable enough to eat. The filling must have been government cheese. They have made it into a generalized cheese sauce. It was so watered down that it soaked my plate, leaving the chile empty inside. 3. The salsa seemed to be made with canned tomatoes or katchup must have been added to it. Ah, Casa Jimador: Where the service is nonexistent, the food is wrong, and the waiter is on third base well before your drinks even arrive. If you've ever wanted to drop over $100 on the kind of dining experience that makes you question every decision that led you there, this is the spot for you. Let's start with the waiter, a man so deeply in love (or lust, more like) with his girlfriend that he forgot he was on the clock. He couldn't take his tongue out of her throat long enough to take our order, and once she finally left the building, he spent the rest of the time glued to his phone, texting her like a lovesick high school freshman. Every request, every correction, every refill took an eternity--assuming it happened at all. The food? Wrong. Consistently. Impressively: * I asked for no beans, double rice. Got double beans. * SIL ordered chicken enchiladas. She got cheese. Sent it back. They brought... cheese. Again. Waiter laughed and shrugged, saying "I don't cook the food." Yeah, you don't wait the tables either, you clown. She gave up and ate it, only to find she was charged for beef enchiladas. * My gf's quesadillas were so greasy they practically dissolved into an oil slick. She tried to pick one up, but it just collapsed in on itself like a dying star. * We asked for a large queso, got a small. He offered to bring another small and then had the gall to charge us for both. * The soup had no spoons. After about 15 minutes, we gave up and ate it with queso spoons only for the waiter to finally saunter over with the real ones after texting yet another love letter to his girlfriend. * The toddler situation? Even worse. We told him we needed a high chair. That was ignored. The child spilled water everywhere because he also failed to bring a cup with a lid. Took them ten minutes to clean it up--and of course it wasn't our waiter, because he was still busy rounding second base. * Here's the one thing he did right (kinda): he brought Sprite instead of Fanta, but did remember to fix that one all on his very own. Well done, champ. One star for that. * And the cherry on top? After all that--the errors, the neglect, the unapologetic incompetence--they had the sheer audacity to tack on an automatic 18% gratuity. Casa Jimador is located in our neighborhood so we often walk over for dinner. We typically eat at the bar and watch sports. Our usual order is the mixed steak & chicken fajitas, plenty to share! I'm reviewing because after all the times we've been there, over several years, the food has continued to be great. Rarely does it take more than 10-15 minutes for our order to arrive. While we've not tried a bunch of items on the menu, I'm sure they are all good, chips are always fresh and they have really good hot sauce, brought to you right after you sit down. Pricing is decent, too, and there's a happy hour everyday I believe. Decor is standard TexMex, but servers are nice and restaurant is well kept. Good for families. Went here on the recommendation of a friend... WOW!!! HUGE food portions, atmosphere was nice, we sat in the bar area, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. If our server didn't have an answer she went and asked. The drinks were great, the food was delicious. I had the Enchiladas Mexicanas, Daddy and fiancé had the Enchiladas Ticanas (?) and hubbs had the Carne Asada, all delicious and way more than we could eat. I had a mango margarita which was served chilled in a martini glass, hubbs had a traditional margarita which he said was good. Our server checked on us often and served us well. This place is quite a drive from our house with lots of Mexican restaurants in between. We initially found it by chance but we have made a special trip to go back there. They have the best white queso I have ever had. We have not been disappointed with any food we have ordered. The service is good. We didn't order any bar drinks but they have a robot bar maid named Belle that delivers drinks. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. The only downside is it is a little more pricey than some Mexican restaurants. read more

The food was decent however there pricing is deceptive. My date order a top shelve margarita there was no price listed. When the bill came the drink was $33.00. We have eaten in and out of the USA and Europe never has paid this much for a margarita. When we suggested to the manager the wait staff should tell customer the cost or put the price on the menu he acted like we were asking him to fly to the moon. Okay, so we finally gave this place a try and I LOVED it! Conveniently located off line and a short walk from my favorite park. They have inside and outside seating. As with most first trips, I sat at the bar and had THE BEST service I've had in a while. Their alcohol selection was great, I ordered the bartenders recco "skinny marg" since I don't like sweet things and most premade mix tastes bad to me. It was fantastic. My SO got a mojito and it was definitely the best we've had. For food we got the Molcajete de la Casa and seriously LOVED it! The thing was huge and came with shrimp, chicken, steak and chorizo. The beautiful presentation was also much appreciated. Note, this thing was HUGE, we both at off of it and still had leftovers. I'm dropping a star. I honestly had no plans to return but then a birthday dinner happened. Let me say first of all our server was hustling. We were a huge group and she handled it really well. That being said, let me just say if an order comes out wrong, it should be comped or replaced. My wife's salad was completely jacked up... she got it for the ingredients, which were missing, and she only got a tiny 16 dollar salad with meat and a tiny bit of shredded lettuce and cheese. When we asked where the peppers and onions were who knows. They never brought her a new one and only comped us 1.00 which is not acceptable, but it again took so long to pay and get out of there we didn't complain further. My food was cold. Others in the party had totally misplaced orders. I don't think it was our server's fault but no one had an issue that was resolved fairly. Just sad for the prices they charge. You know Mexican restaurants in Shreveport/Bossier are a dime a dozen. So I went into Casa Jimador thinking ok another Mexican restaurant with microwave food, bland salsa and Queso. Well the chips seem fresh, they weren't to hard or greasy. Ok I'm thinking you have my attention, the salsa and queso very fresh and taste like it was made in house. So plus on salsa and queso. I have the beef and chorizo street tacos. Presentation was impression, amount of filling in the taco was more than I've had in another restaurant. I could barley finished the three tacos. They were very good, definitely not microwaved. Very refreshing food for a Mexican restaurant. I hope they are able to maintain the quality they have going now. Will definitely be back. My wife and I are EXTREMELY picky when it comes to mexican food. Both of us being hispanic and coming from south Texas. This place was great! We got the double mixed fajitas and there was a LOT for us two. You get 3 tortillas each and both get a plate of rice, beans, pico, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream. New restaurant. I have been four times, and they were busy each time. Very large menu, clean and upscale decor, reasonable prices, good service. I enjoy sitting at the bar, (Michelob Ultra near and on draft) because servers always near, and TVs easy to see, and no wait to be seated. I prefer to order a la cart items since the rice and beans that are common to Mexican restaurants takes up too much room that I would rather fill with tastier dishes. My favorite so far would be the Chili Pablano Pepper. Two for 6.99, one for $3.99. Other items also offered, at reasonable prices. The plates are colorful, and hot.
