Since my last review, I've made Ramirez my go to Mexican restaurant. I've been several times and it's mostly satisfying. I've only been disappointed a few times. Puffy Tacos: $11- the shell was greasy and chewy. Had no crunch. Chica tacos: $18- looked burnt, tasted burnt and didn't come with the dipping sauce as pictured in the menu. I'm told that it makes the meal. I ordered a Corona-rita and they didn't have the small corona for it. Rather than ask me if I preferred the beer or the rita, it was decided I would get the corona. I would have switched to a sangria swirl instead. Oh well. Despite these few hiccups, I still prefer the flavors, portions, and service of Ramirez. read more

Eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants. Really hard to find a really good Mexican Restaurant. However, Ramirez is the worst I've ever eaten. The restaurant is clean, staff are very nice, a little bit pricey, but the food is terrible. Not sure what spices they use but it is noticeable and terrible . My wife and I will not return. Wow! What a great Tex-Mex restaurant! We got nachos. They were chicken fajita meat, cheese and no added anything else per preference. Came on a large plate. Great portion! More than enough for one person, or to share! I got the crazy rice deluxe. It comes with shrimp, fajita chicken, fajita steak, Mexican rice, queso, bacon, and peppers! Please order this! It's like the Mexican version of Chinese combination fried rice. But way better! It comes on a large plate. More than enough for one person. A great portion size. The salsa is award winning. After trying several of the local Mexican quinine restaurants, I have decided for my palate Ramirez is the go to for me. Not only are the fast (for delivery) the food is always correct and fresh, even with special requests. I appreciate that! Their pricing is reasonable to portion sizes. My usual go toos here are the rice with grilled/fajita chicken with cheese on top and the chimichangas with double rice. I also love the little mini ground beef chimi appetizers and ask them to use flour tortillas instead of corn and fried crunchy. Makes a big difference.imo. I also love they have an extended lunch special time for the lower priced entrees. Very helpful in today's economy! read more

Since they're right outside the base main gate (used to be a Trejos, next to Johnson furniture) my wife and I decided to test out Ramirez Mexican Restaurant... and we were not disappointed! Another great option for South Bossier!!! Service was fantastic: my drink never went empty, server knew what he was talking about, manager came by to see how we're doing, and food came out fast and hot. Prices were average for Mexican which normally has big portions like this place. Food was Delicious! It's TexMex so expect the usual tacos, enchiladas, burritos options... but delicious. As in my wife said she will never make homemade salsa again because Ramirez' salsa (definitely uses fresh tomatoes and lots of cilantro) and chips is better than hers. Their queso is creamy, gooey and has a lil kick; excellent. I had their chile rellenos which were delicious with rice and beans (sides were tasty but nothing out of the ordinary). My wife tried out their secret menu item: the steak Chica Tacos (aka birria tacos, but no consume to dip)... oh man they're amazing! We're ordering those again soon. And the wife was so in love with the salsa we ordered a pint to go! No liquor license yet so no margaritas to rate but overall yummy option near base. Happy Hour: Margaritas only. I wish there was more on their happy hour menu. Like $1 off pints, $10 appetizers, etc. Fun environment. There's a lot of color on the walls. The decorations are cute. Ok!! I was pretty shocked at how good the food was. I found it on TikTok. I am so picky about beans and rice but this tasted amazing like my moms. The table salsa was good. Salsa verde was good. Great place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I'm surprised, but understand why I'm the first review. It's in a bit of an awkward spot to get to, it's not on Bossier Barksdale headed toward Shreveport, but it's on a service road parallel to it right before the bridge. I got a great deal of chimichanga, sides and chips for what I thought wasn't much money. They have spicy salsa (like you can smell the spice hot). I certainly recommend it. read more

Ordered through door dash. Salsa spilled everywhere. No tortillas with fajitas. How is that possible? So still had to get out and drive 10 miles away to pick up the tortillas that weren't competent enough to put in the bag for the door dash driver. Absolute waste of money. The (I forgot the name) rice was okay and I wouldn't get it again unless the price was lowered. The salsa was great, the first time. The second time it was so hot that I couldn't eat it. I had sour cream enchiladas .... the full meal, which was $1 more than the lunch menu, but had the exact same number of enchiladas with beans and rice just like the lunch menu. Very skimpy on the sauce too We motioned for our waitress several times to order and even though I know she saw us she kept walking. She had an attitude that I'm not sure where it came from. My wife ordered chicken tacos. They were cold and not shredded. She sent it back and wanted beef tacos. The beef tacos were cold too. She brought me home spinach enchiladas. I found a 1 inch piece of plastic in my enchiladas. It was not crowded. The waitress was rude and made my wife go to the register to get the military discount but took other people bills. My family and I went here one evening for supper. The side we were sitting on had two large parties, one of which a young woman was turning 21. We got salsa, no chips, eventually after asking twice chips arrived. After ordering and waiting a long time we got our meal. Soon after the employees had the young lady stand in and chair for them to sing happy birthday. After that, they start playing the song Shots and chanting for her to take shots. The employee proceeds to walk around the restaurant pouring shots down the parties throat and then goes to other tables asking them if they'd like a shot. No shot glass. Straight shot down the hatch. He comes to our table with our three children. It was very unprofessional and we will never be back. read more

The food and portions have always been amazing here! Never been disappointed except for 3 nights ago when I ordered from DoorDash. I was eating left overs from here and noticed something in my burrito and picked it up, it was a staple!! I could have swallowed that piece of metal and ended up needing a hospital visit. That's my only complaint about Ramirez. Every other time I've eaten from here it has been a pleasant experience. Definitely one of the worst Mexican restaurants we tried. Where do i start, the bathrooms were dirty and the floor under our table was dirty. The rice was soggy, the beans were gross, a can of beans would've tasted better. My husband ordered the seafood soup which was watery and burnt. We ordered pizza and fries for the kids. The pizza look like the frozen pizza you buy at the grocery store and the fries were way over cooked. It's really surprising that this restaurant was so nasty because the Ramirez in Shreveport is really good. This was a spur of the moment selection for our monthly lunch. I had seen on the local restaurant guide that everyone was pleased with them. Where do I begin? I had the lunch mixed fajitas. Lately most of the places I have eaten the fajitas they are warm but not sizzling. The fajitas here were smoking hot!!! The chicken juicy the steak juicy as well. The salsa is some of the best homemade tasting ever. The service was fantastic. I did not get the server's name but he was busy as were they all. I will definitely be back as many times as I can!
