The food was pretty good. The Michelada was definitely worth going back for and I can see how this place will get really really busy after dark. We came just before the night rush on a Saturday. We enjoyed everything from the chips to the sushi and the icing on the cake was the free seafood soup they bring out in a coffee mug waitress was very nice. The bill wasn't too cheap but that's what you get nowadays with inflation and a good Mariscos spot $145 me wife and son. But hey. We had a good time

Looking for a dine in Mexican place? This place is perfect. The place is clean and has all the components to enjoy a great meal. We had the mar y Tierra molcajete. The tortillas were hand made I believe. Claudia was super sweet and we got fountain drink and agua drink refills. They had Halloween decorations. The food was great, the music and TV screens were cool, and the service was kind. The ambiance was perfect to enjoy a meal in a nice place. Will definitely come back since it's in my hometown Fontana. Hard to find good food, nice ambiance w great service. I have read other reviews and this place might have adjusted their prices. We paid 30 for the molcajete and 4.50 per drink. 50 bucks for 2 was reasonable for us.

We found ourselves craving seafood and Margaritas so we googled and found this place. The Mango margaritas were amazingly delicious and I have to say so was the food. My problem with this place was the bait and switch. I will explain. So when we were seated , we were given menus . The prices on the menu were a little much than we would normally pay but my stomach was saying "treat yourself". When it came time for the bill I nearly fell off my seat. I asked the waitress why the drinks that were 7.99 on the menu were charged at 13.99 and the food was charged at almost double the price and she responded that those prices were from "the OLD menu" ,which she had handed us mind you. She also informed us that the new menu could be accessed by scanning a QR code that's posted behind the counter . The fact that it was never mentioned was very off putting and sneaky. so needless to say we will definitely not return. Ridiculously outrageous prices!

A flavor memory brought back to life…read more Our family traveled to Puerto Vallarta about 3-4 years ago, and one of the things we love most about traveling is getting off the beaten path and exploring places that feel a little more authentic and local. On that trip, we ventured deep into inland/semi-coastal Jalisco and ended up at a little eatery called Ok Corral Restaurant & Bar in Cabo Corrientes. The food was incredible, but one dish in particular stole my daughter's heart: pescado zarandeado, specifically red snapper. She loved it so much that she basically stole my food. Since that trip, my daughter and I have had a little mission of our own: find that fish again and find the version that brings back that exact flavor memory. Then we found Las Nuevas Islas in Fontana. From the moment we walked in, the experience was fantastic. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, but what really stood out was how much they cared about getting my daughter's meal right. We let our 9-year-old explain to our waiter what she remembered about the fish from Mexico. She asked if they had red snapper. He initially told us they were using tilapia, but mentioned that they had just received a shipment of fresh fish and was almost certain there was some red snapper in it. He went back to check. Sure enough, they had it. But he didn't stop there. He asked to see the picture we had from Mexico so he could see how the fish was seasoned and cooked. He took that information straight back to the chef and asked if they could prepare it the way my daughter remembered it. And my goodness, they absolutely nailed it. The fish was cooked perfectly, beautifully seasoned, and had that charred, savory flavor we had been trying to find for years. Watching my daughter take that first bite and seeing the smile on her face was worth the trip alone. Our waiter jokingly asked her, "How is it? Do you like it?" She looked at him and said, "I'm sorry, no, I don't like it... I LOVE IT!" Seeing the smile on his face after hearing that, and seeing my daughter relive a flavor memory from a family trip years ago, was one of those little moments that makes a restaurant experience much more than just dinner. We also had the fish ceviche tostada, which was incredibly fresh, bright and refreshing, and my wife had the fried fish tacos, which were perfectly battered and delicious. And that green serrano salsa deserves its own mention. It is seriously spicy, but absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is huge, with a great open feel, a beautiful and simple bar, a stage for live music, and an overall atmosphere that feels incredibly welcoming. But what we'll remember most is the people. The waiter could have simply said, "We don't have red snapper." Instead, he went looking. Then he went back again. Then he talked to the chef. They listened to a 9-year-old describe a fish she remembered eating in Mexico years ago and did everything they could to recreate it for her. That's hospitality. Las Nuevas Islas didn't just serve us a great meal. They helped our daughter bring a little piece of a family memory back to life. If you're looking for Nayarit-style mariscos, pescado zarandeado, fresh seafood, great service and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, I can't recommend Las Nuevas Islas enough. The servers were polite and accommodating, and the live music created a really nice vibe. The only downside was the wait time for our food, but it was understandable since they were short-staffed. Everything was spotless, and the welcoming atmosphere started the moment we walked through the door. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home throughout our meal. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful...the perfect way to start the meal. I ordered the shrimp taco, and it was seasoned perfectly with amazing flavor in every bite. I also had the shrimp ceviche tostada, choosing the shrimp "cooked" in lime (they also offer a cooked shrimp option). It was incredibly fresh, bright, and delicious. My kids ordered the asada plate and absolutely loved it. We also shared the Shrimp al Mojo de Ajo, which was the highlight of the meal. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, buttery, and generously coated in rich, fragrant garlic, it was absolutely delicious. Between the warm hospitality, clean environment, and incredible food, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for fresh, flavorful mariscos. We ordered the grilled artichoke to start, which was delicious. It comes with a Dijon dipping sauce that I loved. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted halibut that's on their current seasonal menu. It comes with an orange ginger sauce. The fish was firm and flaky, the mac nut crust gave it some nice crunch, and the sauce was flavorful. The fish comes with two sides, but I opted for a double order of the grilled zucchini. My husband ordered the sea bass that's also coated with a crust and comes with a lemon butter sauce. We tried each other's fish and we agreed they're both tasty, but mine was a bit better! I liked the lemon butter sauce on his fish a lot. Despite being busy, service was great! The poor experience began at the host stand. I had a reservation for 1:15 PM but arrived early and was sat at 12:56 PM. Despite my active reservation, when the host led me to the table, she asked if the reservation was under "M." When I got to the table and asked who "M" was, she dismissively replied that they "just put down an alphabet." I told her my name was Will, but she didn't care to acknowledge it or correct her mistake. This cold shoulder continued throughout the meal. When asked about drinks, I said "water for now," and every time I said "thank you" to our server, I was met with complete silence and zero acknowledgment. Once my guest--who is white--joined me at the table, the dynamic shifted entirely. He received 95% of the server's warmth, eye contact, and attention. The only time the server actively engaged with me was to take my physical food order. Even the food had issues--our first crab cake was served overcooked. Because my guest was the one who pointed it out, the manager came over and addressed him to replace it. While the manager's interaction was a bit better, the server's dismissive attitude toward me never improved for the rest of the meal. To top it off, I was the one who paid the bill. When the server returned my credit card, instead of handing it back to me, she chose to place the presenter book directly in the middle of the table. As a business owner, I understand how critical customer service is. The selective attentiveness and dismissive attitude I experienced today felt incredibly biased and completely ruined our lunch. I will not be returning to this location.
