The food smells amazing. The service is ass! I waited at the front for somebody to check on my order, but nobody wanted to check on the order for me. I go to the bar to ask about it, and I'm told "that's their job to check on the order up front".. I say excuse me, the lady upfront just walks away and puts up a finger saying 1 sec and never comes back. FINALLY the youngest woman there comes to me and goes and grabs the order. A friend brought me to this place and I wanted to love it. Nayarit has some of the best mariscos therefore I had high expectations. Unfortunately I was not impressed. Our drinks took forever and even our food came out first. Food was average and not worth what you pay for. We ordered the aguachile and a sushi roll. Do not recommend getting sushi. The restaurant is very cute inside, and we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. It took about 15 minutes just to get two beers and one drink. Then another 20 minutes passed before our waiter checked on us again. When we finally ordered food, everyone else at the table received their meals--except me. My order was completely forgotten. I had been looking forward to trying their Mexican sushi, so this was especially disappointing. When asked about it, our waiter, Carlos, stated he wasn't aware.. After waiting another 33 minutes with no food, I told my fiancée I was ready to leave. Instead of taking responsibility, he told me I "ordered too late." I've been getting food from viejon and their food truck since like 2021, and I'm sooooo HAPPY AND EXCITED they finally have a resultant! And it's beautiful!! I was only here to grab food to go but it was quick. Came here on a Monday night and it was chill Service was great. And they also have happy hour M-Th 3pm-9pm which I think is great cause most places will have happy hour until 5pm, so I'm for sure gonna hit this place up more! read more

This place has a trendy, cool vibe to it. The inside is decorated well. The service was great, friendly and attentive. My complaint is the portion size vs the prices. We came once when it was first open then not again till recently. We ordered the pulpo zarandeado on both visits. This last time the price had been marked up to $31 from $27 plus they cut the portion size. I understand prices going up in current times but how do you mark up the price and cut the portion size? There is only ONE place to go for shrimp tacos in the IE and it's at El Viejon!!! order the Ensenada shrimp tacos and you will not be disappointed! Crispy on the outside light and soft huge prawns on inside with just the right amount of drizzled sauce on top . Two tacos are very filling! Came here on two different occasions and quality is consistent. Love the music and party vibe! This place looks like a nice place to celebrate a special occasion or chill with friends. The bar is nice and there are screens to watch a game... Cannot critique on the sushi or Auguachile but my friend who got the dishes loved them. I think the guacamole could have less salt and the drinks are excellent! The margarita flight is a flight and half! The service is attentive and the restaurant is right off the 10 fwy! El Viejon has been a staple in the IE and now they have their own location!! Amazing service, great food, and good music. It was very busy for a Sunday but we had the best waitress helping us out even with the loud music! They were very nice and our food was out quickly. The food was great like always and we all enjoyed our food. There is live music playing (Sundays?) which is perfect for an outing with family. Rating? 10/10 read more

Called to pick up and order, upon arrival hostess tell me to go to the bar, I go to the bar the bar tells me to go to the hostess. Finally someone asks if I got help obviously not yet if I'm standing in-front of your counter for the last 5 minutes. They ask for my name the guy finds the receipt charges me and does not hand me my food for another 5 minutes when it was already ready sitting on the counter. It amazes me how low of an IQ people working here have it's not that hard to hand someone their order after paying. And for the cherry on top found a hair on my food. read more

Ok so this place is very beautiful! But when I tell you there food sucked a$$. My husband got 3 fish tacos around $20 plate. I ordered the Camarones zarandeados around $50. When they brought these overcooked flavorless burnt shrimp to my table I instantly regretted coming here. It had no flavor at all ! Not only that! Look at the amount of rice they put on my plate! on top of that it was simply white rice with veggies. No flavor. I was highly disappointed. I am a very honest person so I'm going to be honest. First off, the service was actually great. We had a kind server who did her job great! The environment was clean and updated, it's nice maybe to drink there. But the food? I was very disappointed. I enjoy raw shrimp that's not the issue but the shrimp was raw in just unseasoned juice. It had absolutely no flavor and was way overpriced for the quality of the food. I used to be an oncoming customer for their food truck cause I loved the sushi and mariscos but they stopped making it the way I liked it. We went to enjoy good food, as we had in the past, and we were completely turned off. 31 dollars for four octopus tentacles!!!?? We've gone before and paid 27 but it was the whole octopus. This time around they increase their price and cut the portion. This place will not survive the way they're going, and it was evident in their empty dining area on Cinco de Mayo. I love this place! I'm so happy they upgraded from a food truck to an actual restaurant, congratulations to the business owners! Service was fast and attentive, Diana took care of us there and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our sushi, even when we kept asking for things and having her go back and forth, she didn't hesitate and served us with a smile. I called beforehand asking what the prices were for the food and they told me $27 for a two person mixed ceviche but when I got there they charged me $37 telling me it was because I ordered large. I never said large I just ordered what they said was $27. They also only gave me 3 tostadas even though it's ment for two people.. I also bought 3 tacos de asada and they didn't give me any chile, or veggies to put on them and one of the tacos had like 10 pieces of meat on it, the price for the tacos didn't match their flavor. read more

I normally never write a review on here, but I had to for this place. We went today Saturday evening roughly around 8pm, we sat at the bar. As soon as we sat down the bartender was extremely helpful. Carlos the manager on duty I believe ,went above and beyond recommending sushi's and drinks . He made me drinks that weren't on the menu and they were a 10/10. Food was delicious also a 10/10.
