The salmon fish small portion was mediocre the beans not fresh and the rice not the best. Probably won't go there again.

I am submitting a complaint regarding the disappointing customer service my son and I experienced…read moreduring our visit today. From the beginning, I had difficulty getting assistance. When I asked for help locating an item, I was simply told "aisle 13" without any clear direction or additional assistance, so my son and I searched for everything ourselves. At checkout, I had approximately $250 worth of merchandise. I paid in cash with a $100 bill, $20 bills, and $10 bills. One of my $10 bills was an older bill from 2003. The cashier inspected it, checked it, and then pulled it out again to mark it with a counterfeit-detection pen. I completely understand that stores may verify currency. My concern was the repeated scrutiny of my money and the way the situation was handled even though my money was legitimate. After everything was verified, there was no acknowledgment or apology. I then spoke with the Manager about my experience. Instead of acknowledging my concerns or attempting to resolve the situation, the response I repeatedly received was simply, "OK." I felt completely dismissed. I had planned to spend approximately $250 in one grocery trip, and I did not see anyone around me making a purchase of that size at the time. Because of the overall lack of customer service and the way my concerns were handled, I returned my entire purchase and left. I am requesting that this experience be reviewed. A simple acknowledgment and respectful response could have resolved the situation. Instead, I left feeling that my business and concerns were not valued. I am also concerned that I may have been subjected to discriminatory or unequal treatment during this transaction. While I understand that stores have the right to verify currency, the repeated scrutiny of my legitimate money, combined with the lack of assistance I received and the dismissive response from the Manager when I raised my concerns, left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable. I ultimately returned approximately $250 worth of merchandise and left the store. I am requesting that management review this incident, including whether the same cash-verification and customer-service procedures are being applied consistently to all customers.

On this visit I tried the small charales (smelts), the baby octopus & French fries which all were excellent! Everything was seasoned to perfection and I added some fresh lime to my seafood! Also, don't skip out on the fresh ceviche! There's a small market on the other side of Mexican items, drinks, snacks & fresh produce. Unfortunately, this is purely a take out only no seating or dine in. Everyone was very polite and helpful, even if you don't speak Spanish. Not sure about the funny staring lady someone mentioned because there were only men when I visited and all couldn't be more accommodating. It's a bit off the beaten path, but truly a hidden gem for fresh mojarra! I recommend this place for some of the most fresh fish I've ever had without catching it myself! (Tuesdays is 3 for $14.99) which is a great deal!

Carnes Y Mariscos Luis does NOT disappoint…read more Their meat is always super fresh and deliciously marinated. You can smell the flavor before it even hits the grill. My wife and I went on Valentine's weekend and it was absolutely PACKED. I waited close to 30 minutes... and yes, it was 100% worth it. We ordered 11 lbs of prime ranchera plus some chorizos and fed about 20 people in our family. Not a single complaint. The ranchera was tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The chorizo had that bold, authentic flavor that elevates any carne asada. What really stood out though was the management that weekend. They were handing out flowers, chocolates, and even giving away their hats to customers. That level of generosity and appreciation during such a busy time says a lot about how they treat their community. It turned into one of those family gatherings where everyone's happy, plates are full, and nobody leaves hungry. Yes, they're busy. Yes, you'll probably wait. But quality like this? You wait. Definitely coming back for the next carne asada weekend.

My introduction to this spot was... memorable. There were a lot of people hanging around outside, and a guy in a Corvette was blasting 90s hip hop like he was headlining Summer Jam. Great soundtrack, questionable volume, and not exactly the ambience I associate with fried fish. Inside, things were calmer. The line was short (a win), and they actually had more fish options available than the Highland location. That said, the Highland fish usually looks fresher. Prices were the same, and I appreciated the posted seasoning levels, especially since I've had to ask the Highland location to tone down the salt before. My order was simple: catfish nuggets for the kids, whiting, frog legs, and fries. Food came out hot in about 15 minutes. The fish was okay overall... a little over-fried, like it stayed in the oil just long enough to develop trust issues. The fries were forgettable, and the frog legs were dry, which hurt my feelings more than I expected. Even the tartar sauce tasted a little off compared to the other location. In the end, nothing was terrible, but nothing beat the Highland spot for me. Between the parking‑lot concert outside and the underwhelming food inside, I think I'll stick with the Highland location since it's the one I'm most familiar with and consistently enjoy. Not a bad experience, just not my preferred Captain Moe's. Overstimulated outside, underwhelmed inside, and reminded that sometimes the location you already know is the safest bet.
