Stopped by to buy some paint for my vehicle and was kindly greeted by a gentleman. I didn't know…read morewhat types of paint/clear Code I need so I was assisted quite nicely. When time came to check out everything went down hill. Before I can confirm home much paint I needed he mixed more then I needed and was pissed because I said don't need that much. When time came to pay, I had an account with a friend to give me a discount. I gave that to him and he didn't like that either showing me an attitude. Long story short, fuck this place.

Backstory: I have little or no knowledge of auto paint and am restoring a VW bus and wanted a…read morespecific color that I had the VW color code, formula, different brand codes, etc. The shop that is painting it said that the company he uses needed to see the color in order to match it. We went to 3 different places and they couldn't come close so we ended up at Industrial Finishes & Systems on our what seemed like a never ended quest for the proper match. The guys in the shop were knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help in just getting us a sample. They didn't try and pressure us in buying what they had they just wanted to get us what we were looking for. One of the guys looked on his computer, found the code, and mixed us up a sample. An exact match of what we were looking for. It makes me think what the hell the other shops are doing in business. If you have a car (any kind) and are looking to repaint or need supplies, go there. You will be treated right.

Radiator shops are a dyeing breed people just replace, no one wants to repair anymore. I guess…read moremostly because everything is made of plastic. Anyways rants aside I started coming here when my local radiator shop in Portland closed after over 50 years in business. They provide the same great workmanship and responsive service I had come to rely upon from my old shop. They are one of the last of their kind and I hope they stick around. Example: Radiator in my mini skid was mangled took it in they told me to buy I new one, I looked up the price and they were $1300 asked them if there was any way to repair it for less, they quoted me $600 and got it back good as new.

This may be the last old school radiator shop left. I…read morerecently sent a friend there and was told that the service and place was exactly what I described. A few years back, I went to another radiator shop, who's add boasts something like, "Serving you since 1948". I thought cool, my radiator is from 48, I'll bring it there. When I stopped back the next day, they didn't even look at the radiator and wanted to sell me a new one. This radiator came out of a running car, no leaks, just running a little warm. So off I went to another shop. That's when I stumbled across Wilson Radiator. The shop is old school, Like a converted old gas station in a old neighbor hood. Walking up, I saw acetylene torches, lit and ready to go. I walked in the office, interrupted a friendly game of cards and told them my story. A old timer came out, told me everyone inside was crooks(I assume he was losing). He looked at my radiator and told me to call back that afternoon. They pulled the tanks off, inspected and cleaned out the tubes. They said it was a solid radiator with no issues. So, if you want true shop, doing your repairs. Go to Wilsons. If you want to be sold a new radiator, by a salesmen. Go to the other guys.
