I am a huge fan of pupusas and had Maritza's Pupusas on my list for over a year before I finally made a trip to Queen Creek. I visited on a weekday around 11am. They weren't busy, but customers started to arrive shortly after. I was greeted upon entering and the staff was patient with me as I asked questions and went through my options. The building is small and cozy, but offers ample seating indoor and out. I decided on the zucchini and cheese pupusa as well as a bean and cheese pupusa. They were $3.99 each and come with pickled cabbage salad and salsa. My order was ready and minutes and I couldn't wait to dig in. I took a bite of one of the pupusas in the car and decided I should probably wait to eat the rest at home. Both pupusas were stuffed with tasty fillings and were excellent! I would order them again. I look forward to returning and trying more items on the menu!

Mom and Pop shop/restaurant that's worth a visit! Great flavor and gives you that homemade taste (IYKYK). The pork and cheese papusa was delicious with the coleslaw they give on the side. If you need a pick me up, you can go across the lot to American Ammunition Coffee and grab yourself a cup of joe. Good service and will definitely be coming back. The parking lot is shared with the coffee shop but I had no trouble finding parking. Very low key vibes/ casual atmosphere. There's seating outside too for the cooler days.

I was somewhat skeptical, given the low health score but the reviews had me trying this place anyway! Yum! This is a casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the counter and sat down, waiting for take-out. They do allow Grubhub orders here. I had a meh pork tamale - the maza was too wet for my liking and didn't have great texture. The pupusas were delicious! Definitely order these over tamales.

Had to try out this Salvadorean restaurant after finding out about it, and it did not disappoint! I had 2 pupusas - loroco and chicharron. I enjoyed both and could taste/see the loroco! The red sauce for the pupusas had a little spicy which was perfect. We also ordered pastelitos and those were incredible. It was crispy even after an hour of being in the takeout box! Would definitely return if in the area!

Absolutely amazing! Best pupusa I've ever had. Friendly service and very fast very nice menu. I will definitely be back.

This is suppose to be a pork tamale.

Complete disappointment I placed an order of pupusas and tamales. When I got home I opened my tamales and it was Complete mush. I called the restaurant and got the same older woman who took my order, I explained the situation and she got very defensive and rude and said I needed to let them sit, I then said ok I'll do that and if they do not firm up I'll take them back for a refund and she just hung up on me! At $3.50 a tamale she could have said sure bring back and we'll make it right as every other decent restaurant would and has done. If you visit this establishment I hope you do not have an issue because if you do be prepared to be treated with the utmost awful service, they need to remove that woman she's going to lose them alot of business with that behavior.

The pupusas were delicious. No complaints! Nice little hole in the wall spot, we liked that you can sit outside if the weather is nice.

These pupusas were seriously good! Really enjoyed the authentic vibe and feeling that this place evokes. Would definitely recommend friends and family looking for a good pupusa. The service we received was great. My parents and grandma were trying pupusa for the first time and the woman at the counter was very helpful with recommending customer favorites. Maritza's has ample indoor and outdoor seating featuring air conditioning and a shaded patio.

Came here for the first time with a friend. We were both craving pupusas and it was both our first time here. I got the 2 pupusas that were combination. It comes with pork, beans, and cheese. For my drink I got the special passion fruit agua fresca and I was going to get the flan for dessert, but I was so full from the pupusas. It also comes with pickled cabbage salad and salsa which is a must for the pupusas! There's a large indoor and outdoor seating area. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. This place is in a dirt lot kind of hidden right next to a house and a warehouse. I highly recommend going here if you're ever in the craving for pupusas.

I love how huge and thick the pupusas are. $4.50 for a pupusa. 2 pupusas is enough for me and I am stuffed! I love supporting small businesses and this restaurant really makes the best pupusas. The restaurant feels very homey like you came over to eat at your grandma's. The red sauce is mild and very good. Their green sauce has a lot of spice to it, so i usually just add the red sauce and the salad (curtidos) on top of my pupusas. We also got their Nuegado pastry which is a salvadorian fried yucca fritter. I really liked it and it was nice to end the meal with a good dessert. The staff are all super nice and they do take card. Easy shared parking in a plaza.

I also tried their Jamaica drink it was refreshing without being overly sweet. I finished the meal with a desert called nuegados which is basically yuca that is fried and dipped into a syrup. It was so good! Favorite spot for pupusas around Mesa

It lacked a crisp crust. Filling was tasty. The horchata was sooo good I wanted free refills ! The pupusas were large and had a good amount of filling and they should be at $5.00 per pupusa. They were 45 cents in El Salvador 22 years ago for comparison. The loroco and cheese was really good ! Revuelta también! The tamale was stuffed but it was too soggy for my liking. Like some water got into the inside of the banana leaf during the cook . Overall it was a great little rincón guanaco ! Try it out. Service was all smiles and fast considering they were busy. Ambience is rustic nice and clean. Wish they played more Salvador music. Hello cumbias ! They were playing a great deal of "fuerza regida" which is good listening too.

We ordered the 3-pupusa combo with 2 sides for $17.40, which was totally worth the price. We tried the pork and cheese, squash and cheese, edible flower with cheese, and grilled steak with cheese. Every single one was so good. It was my first time trying edible flower with cheese, and it ended up being my favorite. Super flavorful and generously packed with filling. For the two sides, I got yuca frita and rice and beans. I liked how hot n crispy the yuca frita was and the rice and beans were delish. The Salvadoran horchata was HUGE and cost $5.90, which felt very reasonable for the size. Overall, everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm craving pupusas.

DO NOT HESITATE - SUPPORT CRISTINA'S…read more Coming across Cristina's was a bit of a happy accident - I was on the west side and in the mood for pupusas, and Cristina's was nearby. When we walked in, there were a couple of tables filled and 2 groups of people waiting in line. We waited in line before we were asked if we were dining in or taking out, at which point we were prompted to take a seat. We took a while to nail down our order but once we did, it was smooth sailing. Our server brought out our drinks, as well as cutlery, and sauces. The pupusas took a while (freshly made and to order, plus many to-go orders) That said the wait was SO worth it. Aside from the pupusas my mom makes these are the BEST I've had in Arizona. They didn't skimp on the fillings and they were burnt or undercooked. They were just right! The curtido was fairly standard (I just wished there was a little more of it) - and I wish the salsas were spicier (but I am also conscious that not every culture has spicy foods). I WILL be back, and I strongly encourage you to give them a try. --- Honestamente las mejores pupusas que e comido en un restaurante en el estado. Recomendadas!!
