When I first came in (about 2 weeks ago) the man behind the counter was preoccupied (a given, at any restaurant) I patiently waited at the counter to be greeted. Then came the warming welcome of "what do you want" - I thought, "oh he's very busy, let's cut the bs and just order really quick" so I did. Sat down, enjoyed my food while being stared at, by everyone in there, why? To TRY and strike intimidation. Why? They're blatantly racist against white people and it's very sad. Genuinely, I just wanted to enjoy my meal while supporting a small business in this community. Fast forward, To Today. I was craving their chimichangas. So I found my way back through their door. Once more. (Should've just sat in hunger honestly) As I opened- said door, I was "basically" greeted, by the very same cook (who was caught staring at me the first time I was in there -) who did not once even LOOK in my direction, but instead, gave a very UGLY facial expression (: indicating, to me at least, that she ISNT grateful for this opportunity to make more $$$ by simply giving some kindness. At least that's how I took it, I may be wrong. Who knows? (: I quickly moved past the uncomfortability I was absolutely experiencing & moved to the front of the line once more, (mind you. It's always been empty from what I've seen) just to be completely dismissed by a distraction from a "new order coming in" on the tablet behind her. Hilarious. Call me entitled, but I thought "first come first serve" was a motto that EVERY BUSINESS honored & respected? Don't waste your money here seriously. As she was facing me, about to say ANYTHING, she quickly got distracted by the sound of the "ping" and used that excuse to escape from the uncomfy feeling, in which SHE imposed on me. As I was taken back by the lack of attention, (don't worry. I'm not complaining. ...... Actually I am) someone came BUSTING through the door, needless to say he looked different than I, so he CLEARLY got the attention first. Hey. No biggie. I'm pretty secure with myself (; .... She then helped that gentleman out with a huge smile and greetings. I'm grateful someone got that out of her. Looked like she needed it. I then placed my order, in high hopes that I could just eat in peace and eat something I thought was good? Well. This time, it took longer for her to make. I waited patiently while preparing my little table and getting excited to eat this again. Little did I know, she made it SPICY AS HEEEECCCCKKKKKKK. And me? Get offended by spice ? Unheard of. That's exactly when I knew that I should come on here and tell people. I had to stop on the way home to keep myself from throwing up. My stomach was tossing and turning. Still is. I've always heard great things about this place so while in the neighborhood, hungry at that, I chose to stop here. After perusing the menu board, I chose Super Nachos made with carne asada. Let me tell you that they give you your money's worth of fresh ingredients. Everything tasted so delicious! The service here is met with a smile from the moment you enter until the moment you exit. Very nice employees! The ambiance is calming yet inviting & features masked wrestlers, the luchadors & maskadores. Cool decor & lots of blue ambient lighting. This place is truly amazing and this is the only location I will go to out of all of them. I have been coming to this location for 6 years and one year went to them almost everyday. The staff has always been extremely nice and patient. The ladies and gentleman that I have had were always very nice and sweet. This is definitely one of the best locations I have gone to food, staff, and decor wise. I normally get their burrito owl with chicken and everything on it except jalapeño. The jalapeño cream cheese is something to die for, if I could I would put it on everything. The horchata they have is delicious and the strawberry one. One thing I miss is their tres leches cakes, I think about those cakes everyday and how well done they were. I have tried numerous other ones but, have yet to find one that competes. The best tacos ever created the Chipotle chicken with fixings are delicious. Get the enchiladas sauce on the tacos it is a must have.

Went into this shop last minute this weekend for a large order for a get together, despite having a few allergies in the group, they were extremely accommodating and able to get us our requested items in a timely manner. The food was delicious, the chicken was juicy and had flavor the carne asada was equally delicious and the sides all had great flavor. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

Finally got to try the famous Maskadores, but it was actually a bit disappointing. For a 14 bucks bowl, portion was so small that I felt hungry after eating it. Comparing it to Chipotle bowl, I think it's a little less than 2/3 of their portion. Food was ok, but the portion was way too small for the price. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant since it was called Sombreros in Tempe. After a couple of name changes, and new locations, this is still my favorite for street tacos. The tacos are small but they fill you up. They never fail to make us smile when we go. Four stars is just the size of this location. There aren't many tables and most times we have to clean them ourselves to sit down. read more

Order a burrito bowl and maybe I came during a busier time. Or this was a one off but not super impressed. Also the place is not super cheap and they limit the amount of salsas you get from the salsa bar or they charge you. Good: some ingredients and salsas may have been good for the most part Bad: inedible, just a wet mess of salsas and sauces (despite asking for them on the side in the to go order) no lettuce or cilantro added to the bowl. We ordered a few items for pickup. We had never been here before and wanted to try a new Mexican spot. We got the red carnitas hard tacos and a cheese quesadilla. Both were delicious! The red carnitas were definitely spicy, but it all balanced well with the toppings and the delicious sauces we got. I was so impressed! My husband and I love coming here for tacos!! They are always excellent, the customer service is great. Last night my husband and I visited for dinner and I left my Louis Vuitton purse hanging on the chair, I didn't realize until this morning and panicked. This place is delicious! The very definition of a hole in the wall, but with friendly service, and super flavorful food. I was limited as to what I could eat because of a strict diet, but I sure enjoyed what they made for me! I had a bowl with beans, salsa, avocado, corn, a little bit of cheese, and then a surprise last-minute ingredient. As I was ordering, she even offered to throw in some griddled potatoes to make my dish a little more hardy and satisfying. Great addition! The carne asada is my favorite of their meats. We got the Carne Asada salad, chicken burrito, the Carne Asada wet burrito and Horchata. As a heads up, the wet burrito is really spicy. The taco salad comes in a deep fried tortilla bowl which was pretty oily so I passed on eating it. The customer service was mid (no greeting when I walked in with only 1 other customer inside) and the 2 ladies were working on pickup orders for about 5 minutes before I was acknowledged at all. But unfortunately for me what I ordered gave me a mild case of food poisoning! We were in floor &Decor when I started sweating and got light headed and ran to the bathroom! The carne Asada was the best, we ordered chicken but next time I would do carne Asada only. Overall a good takeout experience, the guacamole was good and everything tasted fresh. Maskadores always hits the spot. This is the only local spot that's open on Sundays (all the other East Valley Locations are closed on Sundays.) The food is pretty consistent at this location (except today my wife's Taco Salad & my Super Nachos were super soggy due to the Carne Asada being too watery) We've got take out from this location probably close to 40 times & it's always good & worth the drive. Salsa bar is usually stoked (only get salsas if you like spicy, my wife is a wuss & can't even eat their mild salsa due to being too spicy but she likes the salsas at the new Country Club location. We came in for lunch before heading to the grocery store and I'm so glad we did. Since we moved to Mesa 7 months ago from Gilbert we've finally found our new fast food place for street tacos. The place is small inside but they have a good menu with more than just tacos. We got the 4 Asada tacos with rice and pinto beans and now I'm in love. These lots of different options for your choices of meats and beans if you're a beer lover you can also enjoy your favorite beer with the amazing food that they serve here. I asked for no heat. I asked what spills be better chicken enchiladas or chicken quesadilla. She said the red sauce wasn't hot and recommended the enchiladas. I take it home it smells so good. I take my diabetes medicine and take a bite. Instantly my mouth, throat and stomach is on fire. I called the number on the receipt and on the website When they answered they hung right up. I wasted $13 on food I couldn't even eat! I had to eat some thing because I had taken my diabetes medicine. So I went digging with my fork to find out why it was so hot. She hid chilies or peppers of some kind in it. So it was intentional and that is messed up! read more

Thanks Yelpers, for pointing me to this little place in a strip mall. The food is very tasty and authentic, and the people working there were very nice and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and seating was plentiful (small tables, though) during our late afternoon visit. We had the Wet Burrito and a Burrito Bowl, with ingredients assembled to order. The Wet Burrito came with the "Tinga" chipotle chicken, which was mucho fiery! I love spicy food but some might prefer a meat choice that is a little less hot. The Red Carnitas pork in the bowl was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back when I am in the area. The tacos being ordered by another customer looked really good. read more
