Finally got to try the famous Maskadores, but it was actually a bit disappointing. For a 14 bucks bowl, portion was so small that I felt hungry after eating it. Comparing it to Chipotle bowl, I think it's a little less than 2/3 of their portion. Food was ok, but the portion was way too small for the price.

I had the al pastor meat burrito. It was big and full of meat. The pork had good favor. Service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. I recommend them if you're in the area.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. The macaroni and cheese was so delicious I can't even put it into words. Grandmas Calabasitas tasted just like how my grandma and my mom made them at home, and the refried beans were just as good. The meat was tender, all of it, and the BBQ sauce selection tied it all together. The inside was warm but it's also Arizona so everywhere is fuckin hot! We went all-in on the brisket and ordered the Large Call Out Brisket Taco, Brisket Tostada, and Brisket Burrito. Everything was solid, but the taco was the standout by a mile. The brisket was smoky, tender, and loaded with flavor, and somehow every bite was better than the last. The real sleeper hit was the BBQ sauce. I'm usually not someone who talks about sauce, but this one deserves its own mention. It had the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and tangy and made everything on the table better. The mac and cheese was another surprise favorite. Rich, creamy, and absolutely worth ordering. We also tried the Mexican Twinkie. I'm glad we did because it's one of those menu items you have to experience at least once, but wow, it is rich. A few bites was plenty for me, and it's probably the one thing I wouldn't order again. Elote was decent but wouldn't order again. Mexi-Q could easily lean too far into the gimmick of BBQ-meets-Mexican, but instead they focus on doing the food right. I'll be back for that brisket taco and enough extra BBQ sauce to make questionable life decisions.

We had to ask about it after everyone else was already eating. Between the misleading information, missing food, and lack of authentic New Mexican dishes, this was a very disappointing experience. Definitely won't be coming back.

Everything that hit the table looked amazing, but the taste somehow still exceeded expectations. The birria ramen was hands-down the star--rich, flavorful, and loaded with tender meat. You know it's good when you catch yourself taking "just one more bite" ten times. The burritos were huge and stuffed like they actually care about feeding people, not just filling a tortilla with rice. The carne asada was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The tacos were also legit--fresh cilantro, onion, cabbage, and meat that actually had flavor (way too many places forget that part). The rice and beans were classic comfort food, and even the aguas frescas were ridiculously refreshing. What really stood out though was that nothing felt lazy. Every plate looked made with intention. Portions were generous, food came out hot, and the salsas had actual kick. Taquitos Jalisco feels like one of those spots you find once... and suddenly you're making excuses to go back.
