If you go up and down the long way, you can get a nice 3.5 miles in on this baby with some hills. Throw in a weighted vest, and you're getting yourself a solid light workout. There are already so many reviews, so just some notes: 1) Make your way around the current dump (also a Nassau County gem, seriously) and drive slowly. 2) Parking is tricky at certain times of the day and on weekends. Make sure to come before 9:30 on beautiful days, or else you'll be parking far, far away. More steps, If you really want them I guess. 3) Wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke, and it's pretty bright up top with not a lot of coverage if you walk around to the lake. 4) Beware...No lights in the bathroom and really not the best place to use the loo. There however is a shopping center close by... 5) Look out of all sorts of critters from birds to bugs.. including ticks.

The event was part of the "Music Under the Stars" series and free to the public through sponsors of the Town of Oyster Bay. The show was titled "The Beat Goes On - A Cher Tribute," 5 Stars to Lisa. She did a good job with songs, stories, a screen of clips, while she delayered clothing for the next segments and songs she perfomed. In the movie Burlesque also with the amazing Christina Aguilera, Cher got her dream of acting and singing.The song "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" got much recognition. While no one else can be Cher they say, copy is the sincerest form of flattery. Cher being amazing in all of her abilities in song and movies; A birthday in May and shes - how old? shhh. So, what's she doing now? Working on a new album and writing her memoir. The Audience that night was rather quiet, yet there were definate fans and followers. She did not say oh hey I'm LIsa she said Hi I'm Cher. It was kind of fun to allow poetic license to give the shared affect that Cher was there with you .

This park had a lot of different slides to choose from, and his daddy took him on all of them. He wasn't too fond of the slides, but he loved being pushed on the swing. Soooooo cute. This park has a mini-golf area, a dog run, swimming, baseball fields, a marina, lots and lots of grass, picnic tables, and I know there's more, but I'm forgetting it now. It's actually a huuuuuuuuge park. I was quite impressed !

Came here on a Saturday for my employer's charity softball tournament. Our team played against…read moremany other employers, and this park totally delivered for the occasion! With three softball fields, it's basically built for tournaments and pick-up games. Parking was a breeze--lots right by each field, and since it was after Labor Day, no parking fee (pro tip: fees kick back in on Memorial Day). We set up a BBQ and picnic next to the first field. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches, plus some coal grills. But fair warning: the grills are pretty rough, so if you're serious about grilling, definitely bring your own. The softball area itself is perfect for family gatherings, company outings, or just a fun weekend with friends. Good energy, lots of space, and an easy setup for hanging out while cheering on a game. Can't speak for the rest of the park, but this section is definitely a win.

I've been to Massapequa Preserve 4 times already. Once on a partial hike, one for the full 6 mile…read moretrail hike and once to run on the trail. I would like to go back again to run on the massapequa park part of the trail. The first time I went I was still with my ex-husband and we went to spend time with mutual friends and we took both our sons into the massapequa preserve. During that time I think we went into the more woodsy part of the preserve. The bike path is 6 miles (3 miles one way, 3 miles back). When I took my hike on it I was dissapointed because when I hike I don't appreciate paved trails I'd rather feel more woods and roots under my hiking shoes. But to bike on this trail or run on this trail with road running shoes the pavement is pretty nice. There's still sections where you can get lost in nature which is always a favorite part of a trail run or hike for me.

On the other hand, there is a parallel dirt path that is not as scenic but far safer. Both of the times I went there in 2020 I ran across an old man with 3 friendly dogs. Their overall appearance reminds me of a famous character in Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat. At the end of Jerusalem Road, there is a housing area with plenty of parking. As for the main problem, I suggest that the Parks Department look into creating a pedestrian-only area.

It is only a dozen minutes from my front door, with easy street parking and good trails. While some parks, such as Belmont Lake, really shine during autumn, Twin Lakes is a joy in spring, with many things blooming and a new crop of water fowl. Walking along the north end of the lake, you come to a spot with a small waterfall that is perfect for keeping things in perspective. Plan ahead, because there are no restrooms here.

Honoring both teams and so many who came from afar- All - with such beautiful wife's. Add an extra star - or two for Golf enthusiasts. Wow is this a big park with lots of acreage. Tx to the many of individuals, Staff and sponsors who serve there and Volunteers for this 2025 international monumental event. They each get 5 stars. Police, Military, Army Golden Parachute Jumpers , Troopers , Security, First Aid including a Mother's station and the great transportation people, (tx Suzanne) restaurants and kind people making things work. Maps both physical and QRs. Beautiful well kept grass and a crew keeping the place clean. Bravo to Citi Bank for their golf activities- Put Put and Vertual - phone Charger stations, a real Bar, places to sit and AC and photo shot spot. Thumbs up to the hard working volunteers at Delaware Patillon Restaurant C-9 , so many diligently work behind the scenes and runners to put lunch foods and drinks out for the many visitor's coming to this event.( see pix)

I've only been here once, a few weeks ago, to run in a socially distanced Turkey Trot 5K. It was more of a trail run which offered some nice views and terrain to run on. Plenty of paths to run or bicycle on. Trail running seems to be big here with many routes through the wooded areas. Can't say much more since I left after I got my finisher medal and went home. It was Thanksgiving and I had to get ready to feast!
