I have been driving for more decades than I care to mention, so I know that maintenance inevitably becomes a necessary--and often annoying--part of car ownership. Mark-Caesar is an exception to the rule when it comes to the many issues owners have to deal with. First and foremost, he is a real, thoughtful mechanic, not just a technician who replaces parts. He is also often less expensive than dealerships, while delivering higher-quality work--especially as your vehicle ages. Years ago, I owned a Sienna that leaked oil. The former Weitzes Toyota "repaired" it for $900, only for the oil light to come back on. Their solution was that I should consider buying a new vehicle rather than addressing the issue. Mark was aghast at that suggestion. He recommended an oil change with a high-zinc content, asked me to monitor the oil, and return when it dropped by 1L. The issue was resolved for under $200, and I was able to keep the vehicle for several more years. On another occasion, an extended family member's Venza had a non-functioning left high beam. The dealership ed a very expensive and unnecessary $3,000+ repair to replace the entire headlight assembly. Mark identified the actual part causing the problem and resolved the issue for less than a third of the dealership's quote. He is straightforward, honest, and genuinely has his customers' best interests at heart. In fact, if your vehicle is no longer worth repairing, he will tell you honestly to get rid of it. I have happily recommended friends and family members to Mark-Caesar's, and they have become regular customers who all sing his praises. These days you don't often use the verb "trust" when it comes to service businesses. But that's how I feel about Mark-Caesar's company. They've looked after our family's cars over two decades, and have kept me safe and confident during a long daily commute. Case in point: I noticed a periodic loss of power, especially on the highway. Mark chose to take the car out for a twenty minute drive on the 401 to gauge the problem, after which he fixed it--cheaply and thoroughly. Did not have the same experience as all these perfect 5 star ratings, makes me wonder how many of them are friends. In any event I found the son and the dad to be conseited just generally apathetic. I will like always be fair in rating places and say that as a family there is just an abundance of knowledge and thats why they get 2 stars but they overprice everything. You can confirm that by just calling around the other 20 shops in the neighborhood for a quote. I wont get into my personal repair history but his dad ripped me new one and I only found out after the fact. Such as with every establishment now a days do your homework and the same goes for this place. As it pertains to the son I once called for a quote for labour only as I had the part I needed from my spare parts car and the son would not even entertain a conversation and when I asked why he just said cus he didnt sell me the part. I'm so thankful to Yelp for helping me find this small local auto shop. Mark is a top-notch mechanic. My past experiences with franchised mechanics, or even some local, have always been mystifying and frustrating on some level. Now that I've found a mechanic where I feel like I'm part of the repair process and a valued customer it actually adds a pleasant aspect to the experience. My Mazda has hit the 100k+ mark so some issues have cropped up lately and I've taken it to Mark a few times now. Each time he always explains in great detail what's going on, possible scenarios, and even shows me under the hood what's going on. I like that a lot and appreciate the way he runs this family business overall. He seems to have a good parts sourcing system in place, good mechanics on staff, and quotes labour/parts fairly, and turnaround is quick. I don't feel like I'm being ripped off, or that the problems weren't addressed correctly which really helps to relieve some stress when having to deal with car problems. read more

I went to them after Mazda wanted to charge me a fortune to fix a few things they found during a regular service.
