WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. My boyfriend left his car this morning at 10:30 for the tire repair and when he came back at 2:30 pm he saw giant Scratches around the front bonett (right side). when he called the manger/ supervisor/ owner, he was extremely rude and unprofessional. He didn't even listen to him properly instead he started arguing with him. My boyfriend politely asked him to check the security footage. He also refused to check out the security footage initially. I told my boyfriend to take pictures and record the conversation with him after that he agreed on checking up the security footage and told my boyfriend that he will get back him in 2-3 days. Also, he asked my boyfriend to leave the car to his shop for 2 days to get the scratches repair as a favor on us and not being apologetic about the situation. I am shocked that how can he says that it would take him 2-3 days to check the security footage. It is hardly a 10 minute thing. My boyfriend was calling him "sir" and he was being genuinely really polite as he was using "sorry, thank you, help" kind of words. And I don't know if the guy was the supervisor/ manager or the owner but he was being so damn rude to him and was using really harsh language. I was feeling so bad for my boyfriend that I left my shift just to visit him as he is highly disturbed with the customer service and rudeness of that person. read more

I am from out of town visiting, I was hesitant to go here due to some of the negative reviews on yelp - but as I read them I saw they were talking about the decline of service from the previous owner of 20 years. As I looked at more reviews through google, I saw more recent reviews stating that there is a new owner named Steve and that he has been working to improve the quality of service since he took it over about a year ago. I had called a few shops to get quotes, and the quote here was about $150 cheaper - plus I got a 5 year warranty on the part which no where else had offered. I brought it there and was able to pick it up shortly after. Oh! And the oil change place I went to told me I needed 2 things repaired, but Steve went out and personally looked at my car before the mechanics did any replacing and he came back and told me I don't even need one of the 2 parts mentioned replaced - saving me another $150 or so. I am grateful to of found a mechanic I am rely on when in Toronto - highly recommend! read more

First, let me say I know nothing about autos. I'm the Roncey lady who only knows how to pop the hood and top up wiper fluid on my CUV mom-mobile. But after going to Frank for more than 7 years and having spent thousands, I can officially say that I'm fed up. Not going back. I'll defer to the experts on this one. My neighbour who is a car fanatic set me straight. This guy over charges and under performs. What else can I say upon discovering that this crew gave me the wrong motor oil for years, replaced my battery with the wrong size, and claimed to fix a recurring problem (low idle fail) multiple times without ever really fixing it. Frank'll spin the stories and soft pedal it all but don't waste your time and money here! Save your self a lot of head scratching and ask your friends who they trust. I'm now a huge fan of M-tricks on Bloor. What a difference! read more

Had a flat tire, it was patched and ready a half hour later. Helpful guys and extremely reasonable.

The shop is by far the most convenient location for me so I took my car in for an oil change. The next time I attempted to put down my convertible roof I discovered the frame had been bent to the point where it wouldn't go down. There was no reason for anyone to have moved the convertible top to change my oil so I can only assume they thought it would be fun to put down the roof and go for a ride and were unable to put it back up correctly. While I should have complained, I didn't but I will never take my car there again. read more

If there was a small and quick thing to fix, he refuses to take payment, or gives a very low request. I was recommended through the local community to this mechanic. I took my car there to have a gas leak fixed two months ago. This weekend, I was driving to Ottawa and the gas started leaking while I was driving. It was extremely hazardous. I managed to get it up to Ottawa and have a friend who is a mechanic look at it. Turns out the guys at Certified did a very poor patch job, and it had to be all redone with new parts. My mechanic friend showed me exactly where the mistakes were -- it's as if the guys at Certified didn't even know what they were doing. I went back there today and Steve refused to give me a refund, insinuating that I was making the story up because I didn't have a receipt --even though I had all the faulty parts with me to show him. He wanted to refund me in services -- but I told him that I won't be returning as I have lost faith in his team. I'm incredibly disappointed. I'd advise against going there -- he refused to even acknowledge that he put myself and my child at risk, saying that a gas leak isn't dangerous. Terrible service, I'd give them zero stars if I could. Find somewhere else - this guy couldn't care less about his reputation or his work. He even told me he'd sue me for slander if I posted about this. read more

Certified Tire used to be the best there is-- trustworthy, competent and reasonably priced-- and so I have been a faithful client of theirs since about 1987. But in the last 2 or 3 years their standards have dropped-- Frank just doesn't seem to care any more. Probably 4 out of 5 times I have had to go back to the shop after service, in order to get something fixed that wasn't done right. And in the last couple of years there have been a couple of major things that they have slipped up on, and he just refuses to take any responsibility for them. For example, he always kept track of routine service intervals for me and I could rely on him to let me know when service was needed. Recently my transmission began making noise, and on checking I realized the fluid had not been changed for about 170,000 km. His only response? "Good thing it wasn't a Ford-- it wouldn't have survived." In another incident, I had asked them to replace some dash lights that had burned out. Despite three tries the lights they installed are still mismatched. But more serious, following the last time they worked on it, a custom disconnect switch I had had them install a couple of years before was no longer working. Though they are the only people who had ever touched the car, they refused to acknowledge that either the original connection was poorly done, so came apart when disturbed, or the guy replacing the lights had damaged it. All Frank was willing to do was unplug a couple of connectors under the hood to do what I had installed the disconnect for. When I finally took the car to another shop to have them look at it, I found that in doing the work-around, they had also torn some rubber protective skirts around the connectors, so now I have to replace those as well. It is really hard to give up on somebody I have trusted with my and my wife's cars for decades, but I am not going back. read more
