After several months of physical therapy and lacking any instruction for wellness and back care from my physical therapist, a friend of mine suggested I consult with Steve as I contemplated going back to the gym. Steve met with me and went over my goals and developed a very smart workout program that incrementally increased over time in response to my improvement. He helped me improve my core strength and helped me understand how to stretch and workout in ways that improved my back health and my overall health. From the start, I have enjoyed working with Steve and find him to be friendly, patient, and someone who develops a diverse range of workouts that have evolved over time in response to my improvements and also keep me interested in being in the gym. I also find he can put together very challenging but very fun workouts as well. It is a pleasure working with Steve and I am now in great physical shape and feel stronger and healthier - it is one of the best times of my life in terms of physical fitness and health. From what I observe in most trainers at my gym, I can see that Steve is much more attuned to what his clients are doing and very focused on them when they are working with him. He is always helpful and encouraging and has a good sense of when to push and when to step back. I was reluctant to work out with a trainer and only agreed to come due to a friends reference. Steve has always been great with me and helped me devise workouts for the gym, workouts for when a travel, and workout plans that allow me to swim and run in concert with weight training, stretching and aerobic activity. I think taking a trail workout is the best way to see if there is a good fit between you and a trainer. Steve offers these opportunities and I would highly recommend you give it a go and suspect you will chose to train with him. If you follow Steve's recommendations, you will find you achieve and exceed the goals you set for yourself. Good luck!

I've been working on and off with Buckley Body Solutions (Michael) for about 10 months now. He really is as good as it gets. This is the best trainer in the best city - get him while you can. My biggest progress came last spring when I had a red carpet event to go to and a runway designer dress to fit into that was one size too small, and 5 weeks to make it fit. When I came to Michael with this his response was "Can you show me a photo of the dress?" To which I said "Yes - but what's the point if I can't fit into it? I told you the size." And he said "Oh. You'll fit into the dress. I just wanted to see what the cut was, so that your exposed areas are 'on point'. On red carpet day, nobody is going to notice the dress. They'll notice your body." In the end, with Michael's guidance, I went down 2 sizes and the dress actually fit like a glove. I was lying to myself, as we often do, about how much we actually need to lose. I'll post a photo of myself in the dress, you can tell me if you notice the dress... or notice my body. ;) I'm not an athlete (really) so I don't know what else to say except for he knows what he's doing and helped me look super hot. I was literally terrified of causing another injury or exacerbating my condition. I had worked with several trainers in the past, both at David Barton and Equinox, and even after spending a small fortune, I was always left with little confidence and "the need" to get ripped at the expense of my body. After nearly a year of my gym protest, the weight began to pile on and I missed the great energy I would feel from having a healthy workout. I knew this time, a "trainer" at my local gym wouldn't cut it, I would require an expert, or nothing short of a demi-god. I'm still not quite sure if finding Michael Buckley was pure, unadulterated luck or merely a gift from above, but I assure you, he is the best. Kris is simply the best. I've been an athlete and fitness junkie my whole life - soccer, capoeira,…read moretriathlons etc. By the time I met Kris I was no longer interested in exercising for the joy of it I wanted to look amazing, I wanted abs. :) I had worked with a trainer at Equinox for over a year, 3x a week and saw no change in my body comp and I hated the workouts. They had me running endless stairs and rowing and even with all of that I had no definition or tone or shape. I was slim with no real muscle or as Kris would say "skinny fat". I told Kris I don't care how you do it but if I am going to spend the time, money and energy I want to see results. I didn't realize what I was unleashing. Kris came into our first session on a mission. And, to be honest I wasn't ready for it or maybe I just didn't believe it was possible. I said, "Slow your roll Kris I am not trying to get jacked I just want to look not soft." After three months of managing her expectations and doing about 30% of her program, I began to see results and decided to turn over the reigns to Kris entirely.
