Dr Mark Endicott is a great surgeon. Approximately 25 years ago he performed surgery on both shoulders with end result being full Range of Motion & no pain. Approximately 2 yr ago I reached overhead and pulled my shoulder. After 2 MRI's and NO results from first ortho, I found Dr Endicott to still be in business. Long story, but this surgeon ordered MRI & X-ray of neck first then an Arthrogram of shoulder where he located a solid mass. He's ordered CT Scan and is taking the time and effort in trying to make me well. I put full trust in Dr Mark Endicott's professional knowledge & skill. As to previous reviews, Good surgeons don't have the time to put a pacifier in your mouth and coddle you. Dr Endicott tells you how it is & what needs to be done. It's not his fault if you can't follow his instructions. If you want a great surgeon look no further. If you're an attention seeking baby perhaps you should look elsewhere. read more

Dr. Endicott did a surgery on my meniscus in my left knee due to a work injury. I would literally have to pick my knee up with my hands when sleeping to move it due to the pain. After reading these reviews I was really scared to go see Dr. Endicott. I have a torn ACL and meniscus. I went to see Dr. Endicott today. His staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Dr. Endicott was great. He explained everything that was going on with my knee better than my previous doctor. He was a very nice gentleman and all I received from him were good vibes. He made me feel a lot better being he was very thorough with my knee situation. There was actually more going on than just my meniscus and ACL. He's straight to the point and I like that. This dr is rude! Should not be a doctor! My dad went in for a consult on hip replacement. And he told my dad "oh your having tax payers pay for your surgery?" No he isnt! He works full time. My hospital pre-op discussion with him just prior to the procedure put me at ease and assured me I chosen the best. His post-op rehab. discussions help me to a full and successful recovery in 8 weeks. I was skiing in the 9th week! He has a wonderful dry sense of humor that had me laughing at each visit. Dr Mark Endicott is both rude and obnoxious. He came into the exam room like a fat bull in a china closet. Never introduced himself. He just came barreling in and said," you have no hip left." From then on it was strange and uncomfortable. He was errogant. While trying to assess my range of motion, he was clearly hurting me and refused to stop. As my eyes tears up( I have a high pain threshold) he began berrating me for having a low pain threshold and insulted my ability to lose a few pounds before my surgery. He clearly is 100 pounds or more overweight. His enormous gut, sweaty face and discusting demeaner was too much to take. Be warned. Even though his surgical skills are well reviewed, I would never let anyone so unhealthy and rude have my life in his hands. PASS read more

The first visit he was helpful and explained my situation in detail. though a bit distracted and forgetful. The second visit he was insulting, belligerent, condescending and hurt me physically, reprimanded me when I reacted to the pain he caused while examining me. He said, "Stop that. Now we have to start over!" Then he hurt me again, unnecessarily. There's more, but this should give someone considering his care an idea of his office visit manners. I also saw Dr. Osgood on another visit. I would highly recommend him. They are in the same office with entirely opposite demeanors. Dr. Osgood was careful not to hurt me when examining me, drew a diagram of my injury to explain a question I asked, and was extremely pleasant. read more

I went to Dr Endicott with a very painful shoulder after a really bad fall. He muscle tested me, while being very rude in his manner and language. He stated that I was still strong and would only need to let nature run its course without any surgery. I was adamant that I would like an MRI to be sure since it was very painful, along with the fact that I had taken such a direct hit on my shoulder after slipping on moss in wet weather. He said that he was sure, without a doubt, that it wasn't that bad! After about three weeks of intense pain and a frozen shoulder setting in, I found another doctor, a Dr David Wang, who was in the same building. Boy, am I glad I did! Dr Wang Immediately scheduled an MRI as he wanted to "be sure what was going on here". To make a long story short, he found out, in looking at the MRI, that my supraspinatus, a rotator cuff muscle, was torn completely through. He scheduled immediate surgery and said that it was unfortunate that this wasn't taken care of earlier before the frozen shoulder set in. He performed a beautiful surgery with confidence and such warmth throughout the whole ordeal, the exact opposite of Dr Endicott's treatment!. He told me that the rehab would take longer than usual because of the fact that I had started with a frozen shoulder and he was right. It was a grueling 6 months of rehab, but I felt all along like I was in good hands with Dr Wang and his fantastic physical therapist, Ann! I pray that people steer clear of Dr Endicott. He is a disgrace to the profession! If you want to be treated rudely, misdiagnosed (with very painful consequences) and not listened to, then he's your man! read more

He was condescending, rude, and actually raised his voice when speaking to me! I couldn't believe it. I've had bad knees my entire life, I know my limits and what sorts of activities I can do without irritating them. But he felt the need to tell me that I'm not an educated doctor and therefore what I've known about my own knees for my entire life is completely irrelevant! He preformed a total hip replacement 11/30/2015 and after several months of recovery it was evident one leg was shorter still than the other which created added stress on my back now a year and a half later I have back problems which are causing tremendous back pain. I am in worst shape than I was before the hip replacement surgery. I will probably need back surgery real soon. I would not recommend him. He doesn't really care either. Do your "due diligence ". Dr Endicott was my primary ortho following surgery with another physician. I had 2 transfusions during surgery and Dr Endicott apparently felt the transfusions weren't noteworthy enough to look at my file or mention it to me. Transfusions from broken bones are caused by the bone bleeding or anemia. Anemia REQUIRES treatment in recuperation from a broken hip as the body does not have the resources to recover without help. Dr Endicott told me at 3 months that he had other patients, same surgery, same day surgery, same age playing golf. I spent 4 1/2 months, anemic, trying to recover from a broken hip and surgery, needlessly. I found Dr Endicott to be uncaring, disrespectful and, at best, going through the motion. I believe my experience would have been vastly different had I had a physician that was informed and cared about my recovery. I cannot recommend him. read more

Wish I could rate a zero because I had such high hopes for this doctor, but was severely disappointed. Went to him for a chronic shoulder problem I have been suffering with for 7 years and he acted as I was wasting his precious time. I tried to explain all the treatments and tests I have done over the years and he kept talking over me asking, "And?? And???" Again, like he wasn't the least bit interested in anything I had to say or even showed the slightest bit of concern with my horrible pain and journey. He then examined my shoulder and had me move my shoulder around so much even though I was screaming out in pain. Not ONCE did he apologize that his examination caused me pain or even acknowledged the torture he was putting me through. I have never met a medical professional who is so cold and heartless. He then told me that he couldn't help me and that I have to go to Stanford University for treatment for CRPS. I explained to him that my insurance doesn't cover Stanford and that I had already inquired about treatments there and that I didn't currently qualify for any. Dr Endicott's recommendation to me was "Drive out to Stanford, go into 'their' office and demand treatment. If you're not getting anywhere, then you should CRY IN THE OFFICE so that other patients in the office will see it. Then they will have to take you." EXCUSE ME!?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I was not only appalled by his response but completely devestated at my treatment by this man. Would that been his recommendation if I was a man??? To go cry in a medical professional's office and make a scene so that the staff will be worried about their reputation and accept me into a program that I already don't qualify for!?!?!? Absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate "advice" that is beyond sexist and rediculous. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone who wants to be treated as a human being and with respect and dignity. This man desperately needs to go to a patient compassion class and learn a few things. read more

Dr. Endicott has operated on me three times (three meniscus repairs and one finger issue), on my wife once (a full knee replacement), and has performed a wide variety of procedures on the many friends and relatives I have referred to him. Without exception the results have been phenomenal!. When you go to a specialist of any kind, you are seeking relief. If you go with the attitude that you know better than that expert, then you are wasting everybody's time, yours, his and the many folks who are waiting to see him. I view the two negative reviews posted here in that light, and I recommend taking them with the proverbial grain of salt. One "professor" who cannot take the time to capitalize and punctuate properly and another who is apparently very sensitive to sound should not be given credibility in my view, and I have extensive experience with this particular surgeon. Not only does he have immense practical and academic expertise, he has a terrific sense of humor. I sense that may be at the root of the problem the aforementioned reviewers may have had with him. I would select ZERO stars if it was an option ! This "Dr" is an arrogant, overweight slob ! I saw him a total of 3 times and I believe that he was wearing the same shirt and trousers, limping along, still recovering from hip replacement (I suggest exercise, a better diet and no more drinking) He performed hand surgery @ the Sutter-Jackson, botched the surgery, then refused to do a second surgery that is needed (rec. from 2 other Dr's. incl. Dr Bess Brackett (great Lady ;) who is an assoc. in Surgical Affiliate's ) because of my Medi-Cal insurance (more $$$ in the ER ?) he told me that he "would speak with a colleague and get bach to me in 2-3 weeks" ? After leaving his office, he had a woman admin. person call me an inform me that I would "have to self refer myself to UC-Davis Ortho because if they did it, it would be a 90% chance that UCD would refuse their referral " ...What ?? In hindsight, I wish I would have taken the advise of 2 local friends, and drove past Sutter Jackson, and drive another 20 mile to Mark Twain/Dignity in San Andreas . **** BEWARE of this Hack and this Hosptal read more
