I get made fun of for how much research I do whenever I am searching for new services, professionals or establishments. However, it's those same people that will contact me to find something FOR THEM because they know I find only the best because they deserve the best. I chose Dr. Tracy Mason, Psy.D initially because she had so many specialties that didn't even pertain to my needs BUT did interesting enough DID include ALL the ones that I needed that were mental illness related and other psychological challenges and personal growth issues. Also, I appreciated the fact that she was "client centered" and "tailored treatment to the individual's needs" was exactly what I was looking for. As a Cali girl it when then of course her impressive education at the finest campus' in California. From the first email sent to the website contact to inquire on new patient acceptance and availability to walking out after my session I can tell you it was the most positive, warm, comfortable, fulfilling, validating and hopeful experience in every way. Lori was friendly and helpful getting me set up with the administrative end of. The front office was so warm, friendly and welcoming upon my arrival. My fears and anxiety were immediately put at rest the minute I met Dr. Mason and I got to choose where to sit in her office (which was very inviting). Dr. Mason is extremely knowledgeable, professional, warm, empathetic, inquisitive and patient. I'm "a lot" especially at a "first" appointment but she showed her true skills as a Psychological professional being able to tactfully guide the session. The way Dr. Mason was able to work with me in that first session said a lot, and it eased me and gave me HOPE. I knew at the end of the appointment that I wanted to make another one the following week, same day same time. This therapist gave me confidential agreement paperwork to sign that is a privacy document between her and I, but the issue is- she never signed her portion.. so anything that was being said was to be shared with whomever was paying for my counseling which was my aunt. My aunt used to pay for my sessions with this Andrea Schoon and then Andrea would then go and tell her all of my problems and personal issues. They were being told behind my back because I was aware by the knowledge my aunt had.. it was actually wild. It was really the biggest shock to me that when I brought it up to Andrea. Which is how I found out she never signed her side of the paperwork. This was a GIANT problem for me. Just the trust it takes for someone to sit down with someone, a stranger much less and talk about themselves, their issues and wanting to feel safe in that environment. Then to find out it's all actually all exposed and out in the open. Truly this is the most horrible thing you can do as a therapist is break a patient, therapist confidential agreement, so I would caution you to work with her and or her practice. Mind you, this happened to me when I was in my early adulthood and really finding myself as a woman / navigating complicated feelings of leaving home and starting college and navigating a tough relationship. Took me literally over a decade to talk to another therapist due to the trust damage that was caused by you, Andrea. Why am I writing this now? I am transitioning to a new therapist and it's been less than easy with my insurance which is PPO, for an in person therapist so I came to yelp for a suggestion. Then I saw this 5 star rating and began to laugh once I read the name. AGAIN. Trust at your own risk!! To get straight to the point, my family has been utilizing ABH services for both of my children…read moresince 2020, for speech, OT, and mostly ABA therapies. And we have had a great time working with the ABH team and seen great progress with our children. During the pandemic we had to telehealth sessions with the therapist where they would provide instructions, and they would observe us carry out the instructions, and provide feedback. This took awhile for us to learn. Once they started to allow house visits and in-clinic sessions, we saw greater improvement in our children. Typical sessions would be an hour or two, and the last 15 minutes would be for them to take notes and go over anything that happened during the session. We would typically have 2 to 3 therapist throughout the week, one main therapist that had more experience than another 2 that were just beginning their career and followed out the program plan. There were times where the therapist would leave the company or we would switch some therapist out that fit better for our child and all that was expected. Overall, its been about 4 years, seen great progress with our kids, and enjoyed working with the ABH team.

After 3 DUI's, numerous issues with the law, and a life full of emptiness, I was at rock bottom. New Life Sprit Recovery changed my life, and until this day, 4 years later, I am still attending weekly bible studies at group sessions there--offered life long to any alumni. I was in the center with some people who had been to NINE different rehabs, and said nothing had worked and broke their barriers, until then. This place isn't about being locked down and coddling you for 30 or 60 days. They want to set you free, and find out why you are doing the things you area doing. I never even knew why myself!! By still being connected to New Life, I see lives change daily from people coming and leaving. This place is a blessing to anyone who comes near it and I consider it a privilege to have had the experience I have had through it.
