I'm pretty sure I got a decent deal on my used 2017 Rav4. However, just 5 weeks after I purchased the "Certified Used Vehicle" the battery died. So much for the 160-point inspection! I contacted the Mclarty dealership and got the usual salesman garbage...."you got a great vehicle, sorry about that but we aren't going to cover that". For potential buyers, Toyota makes a great vehicle but the "Certified Used Vehicle" thing means nothing. They would not help get my vehicle fixed even though it was under warranty. 3 days after I bought the Vehicle I had to take it back cause it had a blown head gasket. Brought my Tacoma in to get serviced for a coolant leak. They missed the coolant leak and quoted me almost $5k to reseal an "oil leak". Took it to another shop and they said there was no oil leak, found the coolant leak right away. It was a loose coupling. They tightened it for me free of charge. I bought my car from North Point Toyota which is now in McLarty Toyota. And a car before this car I had serviced at North Point Toyota and because I tried to stick with dealer loyalty I continued to have my car service there. Although one time they drove my car on the quick lube rack and burst my tire and would not replace it. They told me I drove in with it on flat. Yeah I drove 15 miles from my house with the tire flat, that didn't happen. OK today my car was slow to start so I figured I'll take it to the dealer and let them over charge me for the battery. After about 45 minutes they come and tell me "oh we have bad news your alternator is not putting out enough amperage and you need a $450 alternator a $229 battery" and a bunch of other hullabaloo that added up to $1100. I said "oh no I'm not giving out $1100." The service guy Larry says we have this new finance option if you don't have the money. I knew I was getting hustled. Apparently they've had a meeting that they need to ramp up revenue? Larry tells me if I'm not gonna have the work done they're going to charge me a diagnostic fee of $145. I should've known better, AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and any other battery places offers free battery checks, but McLarty is trying to hustle me into $1100 worth of unneeded services. My Spidey senses were confirmed when I took my car to Sherwood alternator and they ran a check for free and told me I did not need an alternator. They said the battery is a little old and you got some corrosion on the terminals. Mind you I just left Toyota, they didn't charge me $145 for a diagnostic fee. He made me a deal and only charge me $75 for an electrical check. They waved these fake check fees in front of me to twist my arm to change the alternator. Sherwood alternator sold me $136 battery. Put it in and less than 10 minutes and I was on my way. How did I spend an hour at the dealer? They charge me $75 plus tax and they didn't even bother to brush the corrosion off the terminals? McLarty has a new team of yahoos trying to rip people off, all credibility is gone! Forget about dealer loyalty they have no customer loyalty! I was in process of buying another car from them using the same salesman that I originally had. Before I made the deal, I went in to get my current vehicle serviced. I am a female and my service representative came out and told me I had a nail in my tire and did I want them to repair it. Because this had happened to me at another place recently on another vehicle, I wondered if it was a scam. I said for them to absolutely not repair it. They came out at least twice asking me if I was absolutely sure I didn't want it to be repaired. After my appointment, I took it to get the tire repaired at a tire business, and they said there was no nail, and there were no patches showing that there had been a nail. When I called my salesman back and explained what happened and asked to speak to the general manager, he would not let me speak to the manager. He kept saying that he would take care of it, but would absolutely not transfer me. Needless to say I did not buy another vehicle from them. The service dept lies to you and tells you one amount and then when you go to pay after service is completed it is almost $500.00 more there is something definitely wrong here. We asked them before so they started to give us the amount in full so we would be prepare for the cost. They told us one amount and there was nothing extra done but somehow the amount increased by the time the service was complete. I am very disappointed in the dishonesty and ripping people off. Last fall I bought a new 2024 Tacoma truck and was quite pleased with the vehicle, but because the extra key fob was missing at the time of purchase, I had to wait for the replacement key fob to be mailed. Several weeks later, I received the key fob, but it needed to be programmed by my local dealer in Northwest Arkansas and ever since then I've been requesting reimbursement for this $187 reprogramming. Multiple emails and phone calls with the dealership have resulted in nothing. This has been the most frustrating experience dealing with this dealership. I've reached out to my salesman, the sales manager and the general manager and nobody's followed through after assuring me that a reimbursement check had been cut. For a week I had an appointment with "Roger, Internet Manager," to view a 2017 Toyota Tundra on Friday at 10:30am. I was 10 minutes late, but no matter, Roger did not arrive until 11:00am. In preparation for the meeting, I had my trade-in detailed, filled with gas, removed personal effects, had wife sign title, put check in my pocket, and drove 1 1/2 hours from Glenwood, AR. Upon Roger's arrival he said "I will pull the 2017 up front for you." A few minutes later he came back to tell me he "just found out" that the 2017 was at the collision shop, thus unavailable to see or test drive! "We have other trucks!" If you were selling something wouldn't you be industrious enough to make sure it is ready to see when you have an appointment With someone ready to trade and buy? I guess that is asking too much of Mclarty Toyota. So, I am out 3 hours of my time and 1/2 tank of gas - and still looking for a Tundra! I am on the autism spectrum have CPTSD severe ADHD anxiety and panic disorder. I was in a wreck my vehicle was totaled and someone I THOUGHT was a good friend told me her father held an upper management position and I did not have to worry nobody would take advantage of me like they did at Crain. No they did WORSE. If I told you that you didn't have to worry you could take it to the bank unfortunately this was not the case. They knew about my mental disabilities. They knew I trusted. They didn't know I had a loan through my bank so I knew it had to be less than the total amount of my loan I was lied to and forced to have my credit ran when he realized that I couldn't get a bigger loan he got mad his entire attitude changed towards me. I was given several pages of cars to choose from and I did. I called BEFORE I drove there to make SURE the car was there. IT WASN'T... This is the BAIT AND SWITCH which I realized had happened and he was trying to force other cars on me that I did not want that were more than I wanted to spend. I had an emotional breakdown and called my friends father and told him what had happened. Well he retaliated against me and gave me this car that I had been told two days before I did NOT want because they didn't even know what was wrong with it. It happened to also be the same make and model of the vehicle I wanted. I was so upset embarrassed overwhelmed because I'd trusted them and had been taken advantage of AGAIN!! Between Mcclarty and Enterprise being late not respecting my time they made me lose BOTH OF MY JOBS so I'm TOTALLY freaked out overwhelmed and I HAVE to buy a car! I'm looking at other dealerships as well because I have to return my rental (which he knew and took advantage of as well) I was shown the car at dusk at an angle. It had damage that was not on the Carfax (they don't care they NEVER RESPONDED) I almost had a wreck when I took the car home it didn't have breaks! The windshield wipers didn't work! (They went out a week and a half after I bought it) I took it back they made me sit there for 8 hours and didn't do anything but change the oil because I had to pay to have the inside air filter changed which had rocks clumps of dried mud dirt leaves stuck in it I've also bought a new battery. They didn't let me read anything I signed. I had no idea I paid for the warranty or that I had to pay a deductible. They had to make key twice for it. They car wouldn't work the FIRST WEEK!!! There was broken glass in the trunk the tire sensors were broken they told me they were covered on the warranty and have them fixed (they aren't) it has MOLD IN THE INTERIOR!!! I was made to sign a paper that said I wouldn't sue them I would give them the opportunity to make it right before I sued them ( they've had that chance more than once and haven't)THEY ARE MISOGYNISTIC TOXIC MALES THAT DON'T LIKE TO HAVE A WOMAN CALL THEM OUT ON THEIR UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR! Consistent with other reviews, it's impossible to get a return phone call Don't expect the staff to fulfill commitments. Purchased an extended warranty and had detailed conversations about coverage due to the vehicle having a lift kit. I was explicitly told by Phillip Moore that all OEM components were covered. Long story short, after they could not remedy the issue they suggested we go to a specialty shop up the road since the vehicle was unsafe to drive at highway speeds. We did and problem was corrected. However per the warranty company we should have purchased optional coverage due to the lift kit Phillip admitted his mistake as he was unaware of the optional coverage. 6 weeks and multiple unreturned phone calls , I'm out $2,300 due to his mistake. I've purchased many vehicles from many dealerships over the years but this is the most negligent issue I've ever encountered that was not made right. read more

BUT the service advisor checked me out, apologized and COMPED the oil change! I was surprised but glad to see the dealership is serious about recognizing when they are not up to par. We bought our car from here, which went pretty smoothly. The guy who helped us was nice, and we found one we liked at an acceptable price. The problems we ran into were in the year after we purchased the vehicle. It was "certified pre-owned," but kept having problems and they wouldn't cover them. Some cost us quite a bit to fix. We feel a little deceived that they would sell us a car with such errors and then not take ownership of them when they were identified. There just doesn't seem to be great attention to detail or pride in their work, at least in our experience with their maintenance department. It was not a Toyota so that's why I called. Was sent to VM and was ghosted. 10 days later called again. Ghosted. Made an appt on line and went. Was greeted by a very unfriendly girl in braids. The person who drive in after me was taken care of first. A few minutes later a guy came out. He's the one who ghosted me. Told me they couldn't fix my radio since it wasn't Toyota. I told him that's why I called 2 different times and got no response. I thought if I booked an appt I would be contacted if they couldn't fix my radio. He said he thought he had taken care of it. I went there being told I would get paid for it the same day, after all the papers were signed, I was told I would be called the following week. We next week gets here and I don't receive a call. I call them and they were so pressed that I called them and the guy I was working with had an attitude! Most vehicles I've owned come from McLarty but never again! As the service tech was coming back out with the paperwork, he realized that he had forgotten to write down oil change (it's not part of the 5000 mile work) and absolutely took care of me and got the oil change completed in a timely manner. ***WARNING STAY AWAY*** They will take advantage of you. They took advantage of my wife. My wife called originally to get her oil changed but they said she didn't need one yet. They then said that my wife needed a tire rotation even though I just had her tires replaced only a couple of months ago. So my wife takes her car in for a tire rotation which would have been $14.95 and maybe a 30 minute wait time. Then they look under the hood and tell my wife that the posts on the battery need to be cleaned. Then after cleaning the posts, they tell my wife that she will need a new terminal end and battery because they were damaged in the cleaning process. WHY WAS MY WIFE NOT WARNED THAT THEY COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CAR?????? So now my wife was cornered into making a choice. The car was not drivable because they broke the positive terminal end. They told her she will need to replace the battery and positive terminal end. So what was originally going to be a $14.95 tire rotation turned into a $219.02 repair and 2 and a half hour wait time?????? She also had our 6-month-old with her during this ordeal. If they had warned my wife of the risk of cleaning the battery post she would have said no. I worked in customer service and repair. If we ever offered to do something for the customer we made sure to tell them of any chance of damaging or costing them more money. If we didn't tell them and we did damage something, we replaced it for free. But instead, they damaged my wife's vehicle making it undrivable and charged 219.02 to fix what they had damaged. This cant be legal..... On top of that if they had warned my wife of the possible costs she would have said no and brought the vehicle home. If I had replaced the battery and the positive terminal end it would have cost me $60 and 20 minutes. Its literally 2-3 nuts and the job is done. This is some shady work. Not only do they try and sell you vehicles but they also try and call you in for tire rotations which then turn into forced vehicle repair... I am very disappointed in how customer service and the technicians handled my wife's vehicle. What a rubbish experience.....They are closed now, but I will be calling about this tomorrow and demanding a refund. If not then I most likely will take it to corporate. I wish zero-star was an option... I made an appointment yesterday to check out Toyota RAV4 today. Okay, great... We went there on time, the "lady" at the front desk checked us in with her great "attitude". the person who was supposed help was out for lunch-OK. They found someone else to help us which took about 10 mins-alright. We told the person what we are looking for, he rushed us to take a look at the cars. However, no information was provided regarding the milage for the used cars, or what so ever. He rushed us again to talk about the price. Here we go... He asked for my car key to get a trade-in estimate. At the moment I had a paper indicating a trade-in price from another dealership on the driver seat. He came back and said "we found out you guys went to X dealership and got $YY offer as a trade-in value. we are offering you more." I said OK expecting to have about $1000 more on the price. He just gives us extra $100 bucks! He did not even bother himself to give my car key back. I asked him "did you see the paper on the seat? he said "NO." What a lie! Yes, we went to another dealer, but they offered way more than what they list on that paper. After catching him lying to us, we asked to get the price for the car we interested in. He brought us the paper which only has numbers (total and monthly payment) without the APR rate etc. He did not even talk about options or what so over. Obviously, we had some questions regarding how they came up with these numbers. While we try to calculate the APR, he was looking out the window. We immediately left the shop after confronting him about his behavior. Let's make this right; you are the seller, I am the buyer. If you do not need to sell, I DEFINITELY DO NOT NEED YOUR BUSINESS. I have bought two cars here. The first car I have had nothing but problems with it since after the second year of ownership. I went back last month to get my daughter a car on the good faith of the dealer who help me with my car. We got the car Nov 5th start running into problems the second week was told to bring it back. Only to be told then they can't fix it they got to run their own fiagnotic even though OnStar had run one and told them what it was. So they turnt the check engine light off and told me to bring it back. Brought it back Monday they had my car since Monday only to be told that I would have to take it to another dealership. Ten when my daughter brought it home from the dealership it sound bad. And it did not sound like that when we took it in Monday. And they are so rude in the service department when you call they never call back and whoever is the lady that picks up the phone in the service department is just to rude she needs to be retrained in customer service skills. I will never go back there again. Beware if you do .... I hate writing bad reviews but I had to tell my story I am sooo disappointed and hurt. This dealership sold us a used car a month ago. While test driving the car with the salesman we could all hear the car making a knocking noise. We were informed the car hadn't been through service yet and everything would be fixed before we took it home. We told them we were able to leave the car with them if that would help because we didn't have to take it home that day. We didn't trade in, just buying an extra vehicle. We were told there was no need to leave it and all was fixed on the car (a loose jack). The car wasn't fixed. We've been in communication with the dealership for the last month trying to get them to actually fix the car they said they had fixed. We were told today to come pick it because they do not work on Ford vehicles and do not have the time. I've called and asked for a manager and sent emails. No response. Super disappointed in this overall dealership experience. After reading other reviews I see we are not the first ones to have this exact issue after buying a used car here. read more

Worst car buying experience ever. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Bait and switch, then took my trade in key and refused to give it back. First payment quoted was 1111.00, I felt sick. After four hours we found a car we could afford, not the make or model I had gotten a written quote on. Which disappeared mysteriously. The car has been in the shop before the first payment. No worries because finance pushed warranties on me, even one I didn't know about. He extended the loan 15 mo to cover that cost. Then salesman calls me at work and I explained I was not happy and he was nasty in his reply. read more

I had a horrible experience a few weeks go at Mark McLarty Toyota in NLR, AR. I was approved for a 2020 RAV4. After having the SUV for almost two weeks, I received a call from my sales person to come in and speak with a finance manager. No one from financing ever came out to spoke to me. My person brought we two sheets of paper to the lobby, told me that I had to put down $3,000 0r $5,000 to keep the SUV or give it back. I told him, that I would give the SUV back. He went to go find my trade in and it was already marked to be sold and listed on their website. I contact manage concerning the issue, from his careless tone and nonchalant response I knew nothing would come of my complaint and to till day I have not heard from anyone from the dealership. Terrible customer service, was trying to purchase car online. Horrible experience, Took 2 days everytime to get back to me for price negotiation. By the time a week had passed trying to get a hold of them, they had already sold the car I was looking at. So unprofessional. read more
