It took me a very long time to choose the tattoo artist for a Reiki symbol that had great…read moresignificance for me since it was also linked to my sister's diagnosis of cancer. When I met with Isaiah, I explained the spiritual significance of the symbol and how the lines had to be created just as the drawing I provided with arrows for the exact direction the ink pen should go and numbers for the order of the lines. There were two problems. After telling me I would be charged $100, I was charged $150 because he went over the hour by a few minutes. 2) He made a mistake and left one of the small lines out. When I informed him via text, we made an appointment to add the line. In his text, he never apologized and, in fact, told me that he would not charge me for adding the small line. When I met with him I expressed my disappointment and mentioned that this was a spiritual piece. He gave me a lecture about how this was America and everyone was entitled to their religion, which I have no idea what this had to do with what was going on. I told him that it was a matter of humility and apologizing for one's mistakes. He refused to do that and walked away. Such arrogance and entitlement!!! I regret using him. It was a true mistake that cannot be erased from my arm. But I will have to make peace with my tattoo to honor its significance.

After talking to Ezra and seeing some of his work. We ended up getting much more detailed pieces. I had an exwifes name on me I've always wanted to have covered up but was told it was close to impossible to cover up by different shops because of the bold colors and size. Ezra said oh no problem. Hes very creative and after telling him some of my interests we came up with making the heart into a kind of exploding abstract planet. Ezra spent hours layering different colors to get rid of the name. And it came out awesome. My girlfriend got her first tattoo. And she absolutely loves it. Her sister got a sunflower and Ezra offered to throw a new spin on a old tattoo of hers she wasn't very proud of. He added some feathers and it looks way cooler. Price was fair and the quality of work was awesome. I'd highly recommend. We will be back in the future for the tap out special they do.

After being greeted I sat on the sofa in the lounge and we looked at the artwork displayed in high resolution on a large screen monitor. Jaimie and Mark took their time with me, discussing the layout and design modifications prior to starting. I was having bilateral designs applied. Both Mark (on my left arm) and Jaimie (on my right arm) installed the artwork at the same time; offering water and snacks during breaks. The spa like experience was extremely comfortable. Wanted one thing, but quickly decided to change gears after doing some internet research (turns out…read moregetting a tat on the palm of your hand isn't the best idea for a number of reasons.) So the new location was my left ring finger, and instead of a word, the concept morphed into a symbol. Matt Helmer sketched a red poppy for me (personal significance) and resized it twice so it would fit just right on the lower part of my finger. He creatively pigmented the background of the flower with a subtle teal outline to make it pop. It looks like I'm wearing a permanent cool ring. Got super lucky on a Friday midday. Evidently someone had cancelled last minute, so instead of a two month wait, I got my finger tat the same day it was conceived. Great experience. Fun, friendly shop and I bought a cool logo t-shirt from them as well.
