When I first scheduled, the girl was very unprofessional on the phone. She failed to hear that I was referred from elsewhere (sister clinic) and made my child a second chart. She stated "I should have told her". No!! You should be thorough at your job. It's highly all Hispanic, which is whatever, but just did not feel comfortable here. The floor and the seats are also dirty and old/worn. I will be finding someone else to handle her braces. Lastly, when told there we be a balance to be paid because the insurance didn't cover everything, I was talked down to. The money is no issue for me, not sure what other type of people come here but that was uncalled for.

I like that Dr. Dimoulis is a very modern dentist who is bringing technology into the office that I didn't even know existed. At my last visit I was able to see my teeth on an X-ray on a large computer screen and I could clearly see and understand everything Dr. D was explaining to me. Recently I took both my kids (3 and 4 1/2 years old) to see Mrs. Dr. D and she was amazing! I have a little one that is very picky about who cuts her hair and who touches her teeth. She was enchanted with Dr. D who is very sweet and soft spoken. Both of my little ones were very quiet and cooperative while they had their teeth examined and cleaned! Success!!!!! I can't leave Mari (the office manager ) out. Mari is the most amazing and thoughtful person and I'm so glad I found this office many years ago after many mishaps at other dentists in oak park and Berwyn. Luz is the dental assistant and I could never say enough kind things about Luz. She is also an amazing and very gentle assistant to the dentists'. Luz is so chatty that we know everything about each other. Truly a Family Dental practice. I miss Dr, Castellan but I'm glad he turned his practice over to a family of dentists that are passionate about their work and caring to their patients. It's worth the drive for me!

Absolutely not the case or culture at this location. I had an appointment to see a specialist here because it was the only time I could fit into my schedule and Fulton market office was booked. I arrived to my appointment at 10:15 am and waited for about 25 minutes till I was seen by a hygienist who was asking me questions that the answers to were notated in my chart, I asked if she has the chart and she said yes and then stopped asking me questions. The "specialist" came in the room and without even actually looking in my mouth deemed I needed to have two teeth pulled (something that hadn't been discussed as a potential part of my treatment plan) and then asked if I had any questions and seemed in a rush to leave. It seems like no one cares to look at your chart or do the basic functions of their job and it's easier just to suggest getting teeth pulled rather than listen to me as a patient and try to assess the problem. It's shocking to me that such a big decision/oral surgery would be prescribed to me without even taking a look at my mouth, the people in this office don't care about patients at all and that's a horrible feeling when you are paying this much to be seen.

As she was speaking she picked up a toothbrush to hand to me and I said I rather you open it in front of me if that is for me; she put the toothbrush down said "she is not doing my cleaning" and walked out! Never had I been in a healthcare setting that swore to help, act so childish and so angry about what they swore to love, clearly not happy in her profession! That did it for me, I asked for my forms back and she continued to speak unprofessionally behind the desk if front of the dentist; noone will provide her name not even the dentist but tried to get me to stay for service. I never will feel comfortable with any healthcare coming from such an unprofessional unethical "health srvices" so I left in pain from a filling coming out during the months of lock down.

I don't know about you, but most of my experiences at the dental office have been unpleasant. More often than not, I have felt like just another person that fills a chair with no real personal care or plan. Once I saw the great reviews for here- I booked an appointment. That was almost 4 years ago, and I haven't gone anywhere since! My very first appointment here was probably the best one I've ever had at a dentist. I had just came from a dental office where I went with a problem of bleeding gums and all I was told was that there was a mouthwash I would have to use to correct the problem.... Pretty much forever lol and then sent right out the door. It went the complete opposite here though. I first met Dr Diana Barzano and she got me right together......she was so sweet that she gave me her cell phone number in case I had any questions or issues with my mouth after she got done working on me; I had a lot of issues going on. Despite what I had going on she made me feel super safe and actually cared for. Everyone in the office is an absolute sweetheart and extremely professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Val is another one of my favorites. I started taking my young son there and he loves her too. Although he is only nine, she and everyone else is very hands-on with dealing with him, especially since he can be pretty nervous in the office. I am so glad that I found them and don't plan on going anywhere else.

Recently, I tried a dentist near my house but ended up paying hundreds out of pocket (with insurance!!) in Brookfield, definitely ripped off - so I switched back to Ditola's office in Melrose Park. I've never had a problem with them over charging me or my insurance. The staff has never done any extra services, without asking me first. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Yes, I've waited 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.... But I've also been seen right away; it just depends on the time you schedule your appointment?? I suppose this place might overbook, since it's always packed but Ditola's team does great work. My cleanings are superb, cavity fillings are not painful, X-Rays are not uncomfortable, my teeth feel great and look nice... I've never had any problems after coming here. I am pleased with this place and will continue making appointments every 6 months. I'm not too fond of the location since I moved away, but after trying 3 other Dentists over the years, I am happiest with Ditola.. Also, this is a bilingual dental office which is a plus for the area.
