Dunedin Sailing Charters - Clearwater Pass in the evening just after sunset.

    Dunedin Sailing Charters

My friends and I had a great experience with Dunedin Sailing Charters. There were six of us, and we…read morewere celebrating my birthday. Herman was a wonderful captain, and made navigating the water and under the bridges look easy. Herman was the captain and Sandy was helping him. First mate? Idk nautical terms. Sandy moved around the boat to provide us with complimentary refreshments (water and soft drinks) and food that we brought on ourselves. Everything was super easy from booking to meeting at the dock. Herman and Sandy were super chill. My friends and I lived our best lives just chatting and relaxing in the bean bag chairs at the front of the boat. While we were out, we also saw soo many dolphins! And after sunset, we were treated to fireworks in the distance (random luck, not part of the cruise lol). It was amazing. There's also a toilet on board if you need to relieve yourself. Otherwise, I brought a sandwich platter on board, but it was a bit rocky to pass them around to everyone. So next time, I think I'd make boxes of charcuterie to bring on board instead. Or just put sandwiches in bags. We had a great time, and wouldn't hesitate to go again!

We really lucked out. This day was one of the highlights of our trip and Captain Herman and Captain Marc took such good care of us all and made sure everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend Dunedin Sailing Charters for any and all of your sailing/chartering needs. We had a blast and the day was very special. Bean bags on the bow for lounging, sandwiches, chips, and delicious sangria, great stories and conversation about the area and sailing stories all made for an amazing day. We would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Caladesi Island State Park - Coconut I found along the shore

Beautiful beach that has tons of shells…read more This beach is emptier than others because you have to take a ferry to get to it and you have a four hour limit. We aren't major beach people, but I got really interested recently in finding shells. We were at Clearwater Beach and didn't see a lot of shells so I did research into where we could find an abundance of shells and this was one of the beaches that popped up. They have so many shells, but all the shells are very similar. They are the clamshell looking type. So if you're looking for a variety of shells, I would suggest going elsewhere. However, I was super excited to find all of these shells. We ended up getting buckets full of them. You pay eight dollars to get into honeymoon State Park. Then you follow the signs to the parking lot where it is $20 per adult and $12 per child, five and under are free, for the ferry ride. The ferry ride is a boat that is actually quite fun for the children. It's about 10 minutes and in the morning, you can see dolphins and the ferry will stop to look at them. They can fit about 45 to 50 people on each boat, and they do fill up. The first boat is at 10 AM and leaves every half hour after that. You can rent two beach chairs and an umbrella for $35 and they have food and drinks that you can buy on the island. Since you can't bring carts most people travel light so we didn't bring shade or seats. Being that our whole goal was to find shells we weren't sitting much anyways. It is pretty empty. This is not a packed beach at all and we were there on a Saturday in the summer so prime beach season. The sand is white and fine and the water is beautiful. If you're looking for a beach that isn't that crowded I would highly recommend coming here.

Fin's Jet Ski Tours and Pontoon Boat Cruises

Fin's Jet Ski Tours and Pontoon Boat Cruises

Going on the Fin's Jet Ski tour was the highlight of our vacation…read more Our hotel rents Jet Skis. They say come back in one hour and they keep your rental confined to a certain area. Dumb. I want to see and experience the Clearwater area, the best way to accomplish this is to go on a private tour. Plus I have my sister in law who has never been on a Jet Ski so a guide who knows the local waters is a plus. And that he does. We all gathered 15 minutes before the tour. There was a nice family from Pennsylvania as well as another gentleman with two small children. Perfectly safe to have three bodies on the machine. Here's my deal. I want to go fast. I see Mr Fin has a new GP 1800. We all given 1100cc waverunners. Brand new, safe machines. Fin comes down and introduced himself as well as his tea cup Yorkie. My wife falls in love with the dog and holds her the entire time while he explains what we'll do on the tour as well as expectations. It's a fun, family tour so start your engines! We start out heading towards the open water. He slows the group down midway and shows us a school of jumping fish. I'm thinking cool but now we look to the other side and see a dolphin fin! It's probably 20 feet away from us. We're all in awe seeing this ocean creature very close to us. Next, we're taken to a beautiful sand bar to gather shells. A picture can't gather up the entire view, I can only describe the view as majestic. Black clouds are far away, Fin says we're going to stay here a little longer to let them pass. Sure enough, after 20 minutes go by and the clouds have moved on. We start heading back and I noticed Fin. He rode side saddle while talking to us. Now he's fully standing and has his throttle mashed. He's like chariots of fire! My wife and I are tucked down, I want to gap this guy! The water is like glass, we are flying! No luck, his Ski was made for speed. The tour is over and he tells me nice riding. I thank him and tell him I tried to pass him, the next time we ride I want the 1800. He cracks up and hugs me. Fin is a just an awesome guy who knows the waters and is a great tour guide. I highly recommended Fin's Jet Ski tours.

They are located at Slip #48 which is conveniently right across from the Private Parking Lot to the Marina! The Marina provides Restrooms, Shopping, Food, Beverages, Ice, and anything else you might need/forgotten for your Boating Day! The friendly staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional giving us all of the information we would need for our day out. Chris, our educated informate explained the very complex Boating Map to us letting you know where to go, where not to go, fish you may see, and everything you can do/see while out on the water. The next step was for the Boat Tour; a quick painless run-down of where everything is on the boat! Their Rentals include a Cooler with Ice, and a Trash Bag! A HUGE Bonus that we have never encountered while privately renting any other boat! There is plenty of Storage on board for just about anything you would like to bring but be sure to put your things in a Waterproof Bag as the Boat Floor does get wet no matter what compartment you put your belongings in. Our 21Ft Cruising Pontoon has capacity for 2-9 Passengers with an Engine Size of 70HP! Everything on the Pontoon was Clean, Well Maintained, and in "New" Condition! It is also equipped with a Stereo and they provide you with a Jack Cable so you can use your Smart Phone Tunes! Whether you are planning on going Fishing, Cruising, Hanging at the Sandbars, Sightseeing, or Mega House Hunting you will be able to do it all! If you have any questions or get lost just give them a quick call! Chris was extremely helpful when we got lost and when a Storm was a brewing towards us! We would definitely Rent from Clearwater Boat Rentals again when we are in the area!
