Worst supermarket ever got even worse since take over. Entenmann product I bought no longer available. And how do you destroy every bakery product and Mae then inedible except for dogs? Do people even know what baked good are supposed to be? Produce went downhill, romaine is WIKTED and makes me sick. Even their pre packaged iceberg lettuce is OLD. rotisserie chicken routinely burned. Wouldn't even try anything else from precooked. When I moved here in 2003, this supermarket was much better but Shop Rite had them beat, hugely, and now Shop Rite is garbage, too. My second FAVORITE place to go when I need somethings particular. I love Market32 because it's close to my home, it's a hugh supermarket where I can basically find everything and lastly it's super clean and organized which I love. Although they have a variety of product and produce I come here to get my fresh cut meats, freshly made soups, veggies, the best macadamia cookies and fresh seafood YES! In 15mins (they make fried shrimp and boiled seasoned crab legs ect... while you shop) and it taste so good that you just want to come back and order more. I also by the best Italian bread probably in the tri-state area (lol) and my very best thing to buy are plants or flowers for my home that they have at a discount price (my opinion) The selection is so beautifully decorated that you just want everything (I will take a picture next time I go) read more

My days shopping here are done they've started doing very obvious price gouging ...store brand items are now more than premium items. Their store brand coffee once used to be 3.99. They have the audacity to jack it up to 8.29 today, that's higher than Starbucks. My other pet peeve is the self check out. I do not wanna make small talk with your store associate please do not make me beg for a bag, or for my own receipt. I don't enjoy someone hovering over me assuming I am going to steal. read more

Customer service is sorely lacking. While I understand there is a worker shortage, when asked if they had a sale product I was told someone would be right out of the back with them. 20 minutes later I finally flagged down a worker in another department who got me a manager. Upon questioning people in that department no one knew or admitted they knew about my request. This seems to be a consistent issue in this store. The attitudes of those that are working are lousy. Whether this is a hiring issue, or management issue is irrelevant, when you work with the public having a bad attitude hurts your business. read more

I had a horrible experience at this store recently. After picking up some groceries and paying for them at one of the self check-out registers, I started to exit the store. As soon as I went through door, one of the wheels to my cart locked. I was bewildered and kept pushing the cart to get it to move. However, no matter how hard I pushed it, it would not move. Suddenly, an employee of the store approached me, very aggressively I might add, and demanded to see my receipt. I complied and asked her what the problem was. She did not give me an explanation, but after she had checked my receipt and the contents of my cart, she used a phone to input a code that unlocked the wheel of my cart. It is obvious to me that Price Chopper profiled me. Why? I think because they felt like doing so, because there was no other reasonable or rational explanation for what they did. What infuriates me is that the employee did not even have the decency to apologize to me after humiliating me. Needless to say, I will never shop there again, and I intend to write the company's C.E.O. to inform him of the incident. P.S. Did anyone know that they had these devices that can remotely lock the wheel of the carts? read more

Clean store food workers good selection always have what I need ethnic foods and fresh meats

"Price Chopper, Price Chopper, Price Chopper....you exasperate me." That was the first line of a Yelp review draft started well over a year ago. There's a part of me that wishes I'd finished it then - while there was still a Price Chopper to review and not the now god-awful "Market 32". Being a long time, loyal Price Chopper customer I endured the changes taking place, the difficulty finding things, the ongoing construction. It was only as Market 32 began to coalesce that I realized what they were reaching for. A place where - I'm guessing - millennials, DINKS and lord knows who all find (Cue angelic choir) "community". Me? I'm looking to find groceries. I'm looking to feed my family on a budget, by as local as possible and buy in season. I noticed that over half their SKU'S were gone and a heavy emphasis was placed on products that trumpet style over value. Hell, style over quality. It was only after I began this review that I googled the new concept. I don't know how they define sustainability but I know how I do. Speaking only from my experience at the Newburgh location, over the past few years have I struggled to find onions grown in Pine Island, NY instead of from states like Georgia that would seem to require more in fuel to transport. New Jersey bursts at the seams with blueberries in summer yet this year most of Price Choppers blueberries were from Chile. Not one orange was from CA or FL. Where were they from? South Africa!!! Perhaps it speaks to my age but once a supermarket hires a "Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility", I'm out. From the looks of things a lot of people are. While you can't find most of what they once carried there are two things you can find in abundance - parking spaces and checkout staff with no customers to process. The day after Christmas I was in the Newburgh Stop and Shop signing up for a courtesy card. So were two others. A conversation ensued and lo and behold, they too were former Price Chopper loyalists. Three people at one time. No way was that a coincidence. Best of luck Market 32. I'm betting Newburgh doesn't have the customer base you're targeting but hopefully I'm wrong. I watched two supermarkets go belly up in Dutchess County and it's not pretty. People need those jobs. read more

This is a review of the seafood area. So, there's a sign in the seafood area that says it closes at 8. It was Friday. I drove 50 miles because I enjoyed the shrimp the day before. Arrived at 6:50. Employee was cleaning and ignored me. I asked him how I could place and order and he blandly said go ahead. When I asked for 3 lbs of fried shrimp he told me the fryer was off for the night. I questioned that assertion since the sign on the counter said otherwise. He said fryer closes at 7. I said it's not 7. He says it closes somewhere around 7. I pleaded with him to prepare my food. He adamantly stood by no. How can a lone employee make up his own rules? I spoke with manager and my food was prepared. The employee needs to be reminded that it's not his fish joint. I hope he's retrained on appropriate customer engagement. read more

It was my first time visiting this store. I absolutely loved it the bagels OMG best i ever had and im super picky about bagels being from The Bronx and all LOL. I loved the bakery selection. I wish I could give less stars. This used to be my go to grocery for over a decade. Local. Prices and sales were good. Gas saving incentive. Selection was good. And then they redid it. Trying to upscale it. I really tried to keep an open mind. I suffered through the remodel hopeful about how it would come together and then it didn't. Oh it looks nice. And maybe if I worked in the area it would be good for lunch. But seriously we have Adams for that. I need a grocery store and this is no longer it. Product selection is no longer there. They simply don't stock many of my go to staples. My kids Belevita Bites, gone, flavor no longer stocked because there is just not enough room on the shelf. Silly things like Napkins, I'm locked into one design. Soaps and cleaners same situation. Household goods not available. So I now have to make multiple stops, so I'm spending more in money and time. Not sure even the gas incentive is worth it. Prices have gone up. Sales are now limited to 4 items or 2 items or must buys, can't buy more. Its frustrating exhausting and stressful to shop there. So I'll be trying Shoprite from home. The Vails Gate Store has all my stock items, great sales. Yes its further, but I'm over in that neck of the woods for the kids gymnastics multiple times a week. It should be easy to pick up there. And if I can make one stop that's a little further, its more cost effective then multiple stops to find all that I need. Add in the time savings just being able to pick up, its a win. And with a Hannaford on the corner as well. Even a regular Price Chopper, unfortunately that will be a only if its on sale stop. The produce section is an unorganized mess. Why have FOUR different places to find, say, lemons? All at DIFFERENT prices. Why not have ONE LOCATION for lemons? I asked where the (fill in the blank produce) are and I get amazingly different answers from employees. You put something in your basket only to find another area with the same produce at a different price. To confuse us? To play games with the prices? WHO ORGANIZES LIKE THIS? IDIOTS? The night shift is the death shift for their workers according to one I talked to. I have shopped PC for years first in Manchester Vt and now in Catskill NY. I have always been satisfied with their service. Their employees are friendly and helpful and the take out Dept is always great, I love the fried chicken and fish, the bakery. Most recently I took home their Stuffed Shells which was $4.98 for a 1+1/2 pound package enough for two, and it was delicious. The sauce which can make or break an otherwise fine dish, was way up there with the best restaurant sauces I've eaten. So Price Chopper you hit a home run with this one. Price Chopper can be a little pricey but if you watch their sales and gasoline discounts you can do pretty well pricewise. I like the way they do business read more

This is your typical Price Chopper. Very old decor and feel to the store, a somewhat confusing configuration of health and beauty products in the middle of the store. Meats and fish are good quality but worthwhile only when on sale...sushi is freshly made here and tastes outstanding. This grocery store is not the best in the Hudson Valley but it is worlds better and cleaner than the Shoprite down the street. read more

I have shopped at Market 32 as well as Price Chopper many times, it is where my family and I do most of our shopping. Today, 3/31/18, around 1:00pm, I went and shopped for some last minute Easter dinner items. I went to the self check out, as I usually do. I approached the register, which was open, had the green start button. As I started to scan my first item, I noticed it suddenly said closed, I proceeded to the next register, which was open, and as soon as I went to scan my first item, I noticed the screen changed and it said closed. So I waited for a woman who was finishing ringing out on the register next to me to finish and I went to that register, as soon as I started to scan my item, the screen changed and said closed. I looked up to the young man that was at the self checkout control register and noticed he was laughing and pointed at me and said something to the kid next to him on the other register. I realized that he, for some unknown reason, was closing every register I went to. I do not know this kid, have never met him in my life. I am a 40 year old breast cancer survivor and I have a 6 year old daughter, and I felt like this kid was bullying me. I have no idea why, I am a friendly intelligent, college graduate, and the most positive person you could meet. For this reason, I was genuinely upset over the way I was treated. The employee purposely treated me in a negative, rude and disrespectful manner and that is not ok. I will never return to this location. It is not ok for employees to treat customers in this manner, whether it is me or another person. This employee, in my opinion, does not deserve to have a job where he interacts with customers, especially if you want to keep your loyal customers. The unfortunate thing is that I do not even know his name, be he certainly deserves to be fired. He is certainly not the image I would want my company to portray. read more
