This grocery ROCKS! Hands down the best spot to find items that other grocery stores simply dont carry. They seem to cater to ethnic products which is awesome. The selection is mind boggling. While wandering around Newburgh, decided to catch a quick bite. Afterwards we took a look in the local supermarket. Not so much to fill the pantry but just out of curiosity. Many years ago there was a place called Casa Moneo on 14th street in Manhattan that catered to the Hispanic community. Now there's an on line place called La Tienda that does the same thing. We were surprised to see the variety of pan-hispanic foods and utensils there. And no wait or the inability to examine what you want. Their produce displays were impressive. Overall if I need something to make an authentic Mexican, or other Hispanic meal this is the go-to place. 5/24/19 second visit; this time with friends looking for authentic Mexican ingredients. read more

Quality produce with a large variety unlike the chain markets that have multiple spots for the same item Huge international variety of ingredients soups spices etc. Front end staff was very friendly . I expected a disaster after reading the reviews. Wife & I really like this supermarket for those occasional hard to find items that we look for. This place has a really nice produce and meat section, however their regular products (i.e. canned and boxed goods) tend to be expired and still on the shelf. I had a tendency to just grab what I needed and go but having had to return a few times I finally learned my lesson to check expiration dates especially at this store. Overall it's a good supermarket with the highlights being produce & meats while you have to be a weary shopper looking at expiration dates even on popular items. read more

I love this place! Literally the BEST place in the area to find Caribbean and/or hispanic or groceries, meats & produce. The meats are fresh & the butchers usually working during the day will custom cut as long as you ask. I get my goat meat, oxtail, pork shoulder & even regular meats like chicken, beef & pork here. They have all the spices, fruits, veggies, canned goods and anything else you will need to cook all your ethnic dishes. Plus in case you didn't know, you can get a bulk box of chicken quarters from the butcher for $25. I bought this box for my son's graduation party & saved a load feeding all those people. read more

During this COVID era, I was happy to have found everything I needed for the continued lock down in NYS. I read reviews but noticed it was under a different management called Associated. The Fresh Market not only has great and hard to find ethic products, but it's very clean and sanitized. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the neighborhood really enjoys having a Bodega style supermarket. I grew up in the Lower East Side , Manhattan and Bodega's was all I knew. Coming up North and 10 years later, I appreciate to see this environment because it's been my culture since my birth. Your appreciated The Fresh Market! Now I can get my Sancocho on!!! I read the reviews and while I was uncomfortable with the element in the parking lot checking out the contents of the cars and clearly casing the cars. (They need lot security) the store was well stocked and the shelves were all clean and the prices were fair. Their selection of spices was amazing as were their low prices. The abundance and variety of Spanish foods was incredible and a very welcome site for me to see. I normally have to go to NYC to get them but they had everything I ever wanted and more. If your looking for specialty Spanish items then you have to check this place out. read more

I love the variety of products from all ethnic backgrounds however the flies that reside in the prepartion room where prep meats is disgusting! I took about 4 pictures of the different flies since they were so nice to stay and pose for me (sarcasm). I asked the guy politely why they didnt have the fish covered to prevent the flies from landing and laying eggs. He just shrugged and smiled. I have complained about this 3 times and they have done nothing to rectify it. In fact the last guy I talked to yesterday, killed the fly in front of me with his gloved hands and went back to prepping the meats without washing his hands or changing his gloves-WOW!!! Ashame I will have to find another store from my ethnic products. Don't want my family sick and you shouldn't either. read more

Finally a real NYC style Latino supermarket. I agree with other reviewers you've got to check the expiration dates. however if you need platains and other latino products like Goya etc, this is the place to buy them. The place has good caribbean foods too. Overall I recommend this place for hard to find Latino products. read more

Have noticed way too many expired products being sold here, This is gross negligence and a health code violation. Purchased a few items only to find they were expired. Went back to get a refund and the store manager gave me a hard time to get my money back. Terrible customer service. One item I was already eating when I noticed the taste was off, was a stick of salami. I went to look at the expiration date on the wrapper and sure enough it was expired by over a month! I couldn't believe it. This store and the one in Middletown are doing this and no one complains. There has to be a way to bring this attention to the authorities. read more
