As we drove into the area, we could see the tents and lights and it was obvious from the getgo that this was going to be a serious market. There was plenty of space to park, and all close to the market. We arrived about 10 minutes after it opened and it was already busy with customers. There were a lot of vendors, from face painting to candied almonds to all the different salsas, barbecue sauces, and jewelry; there were a few food vendors, I thought there would be more, but hey, it's the first one. They Apopka Police Department had a demonstration of their K9 unit which was awesome! My favorite thing, though, was the fact that they had produce- which is the whole point of a farmers market in the first place! So many fruits and vegetables, and really good prices, cheaper than any of the local grocery stores. Plus, they had a fresh seafood dealer, and talk about fresh- I just wish you could eat it there- but I purchased some Stone Crab Claws and took them home and they were delicious! For the first one, I was very impressed, and I am sure it will even get better from here. I highly suggest you check it out, every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30!

We went on a Sunday and the parking lot was packed so we had to circle to find a spot. Luckily, there seem to always be people coming AND going so it only took a few minutes. Freshfields Farm is split up into 3 distinct areas - the fresh meat store, the fresh produce store, and the ice cream (and hot dog) window. We decided to head to the meat entrance first. The area is not that big but it is just lots of selections of fresh meat, cheese and butter. The meats seemed to be pretty good prices, slightly below Publix where I normally shop. There was ground beef, turkey, steak, chicken and seafood. Plus some huge cuts of meat like picanha and ribs. If you are going to have a BBQ, this is the place to go. Also, workers were constantly bringing out new packages and some people were waiting for them. I picked up 2 pounds of ground beef and some boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The cashiers were nice and super quick. Then we headed outside and then next door to the produce section. Basically the same as the meat department but filled with produce. There were bins of fresh strawberries when we walked in as well as avocados, a whole section of bananas and plantains, rainbow carrots, and even full cacao pods! I'm guessing they just showcase fresh seasonal produce so for example, while there were fresh plums, I didn't see navel oranges. There was also a fridge case full of squeezed juices and lemonades. And a big section of various types of mushrooms. I got a package of sliced cantaloupe and a big pack of 30 eggs. We checked out the ice cream window, which looked super yummy but because we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we decided we'll come back another time to try it.

The staff members were very friendly, especially the cashier who helped me at the register. Her smile felt so genuine, and it honestly made me want to come back again. I even decided to pick up some peanut butter while I was there. The store was very clean and well organized, which made shopping comfortable and enjoyable. I shop at other grocery stores too, but this place is definitely becoming one of my favorites. You can also bring your own reusable bags, which is a nice bonus. The parking lot can be a little difficult on weekends, but overall I highly recommend this place!

They have a live DJ, and the atmosphere is welcoming. It is easy to find... just follow the crowd and the sound of music. It's a small market, but there are a good number of vendors offering food items, clothing, jewelry, plants, mushrooms, and art, among other things. I decided to buy two coloring books (for a neice) from two separate young and black artists. The parking is decent - there is a grassy lot as well as street parking, all free and first come, first serve. Next time, I may have to come ready to eat so I can sample food from the BBQ truck.

Whole raw milk ( not fit for human consumption ) is selling for 16.99 - 21.99 a gallon; which is significantly more expensive than other raw milk sellers in lake/ Orange County. Meat prices are listed as $/lb; but all frozen meat beef, chicken lamb, duck, pork only comes in more than 1 pound packages.They sell more prepackaged foods in Plastic than glass or paper packaging, than they did in the past. They have 1 small bison, 2-Emu, 2-Bramaha cows, 1-llama(recently sheared), ducks, and chicken to look at and pet if you want to. Sadly it looks like end stage Capitalism is happening at Lake Meadow Farm too. They seem to be more interested in profits than they do in customer satisfaction and customer service. They carry lafermière yougurt at 5.99 a container while target charges $3.19, and a instant charges $3.49. On on a sidenote, they do have little placards along the walkway from the parking lot to the store where you could put your child's face on a picture and show them as being a cow or a farmer if you choose. in retrospect, they used to always be expenses but now they're just ridiculously expensive. I hope you enjoy this review and if Lake Meadows wants to continue in business and not go under, they may wanna look at investment brokers to invest in their farm so that they can sell off the property and then close it off for a profit.

Parking was easy, free, and conveniently located to all the festivities which is a huge plus. This is also one of the few local markets where I've actually seen a large selection of fresh produce and and farm goods available. It was refreshing to see so many people bring their market bags on wheels, wagons, etc. ready to purchase fresh fruits & veggies and support our local farmers. Beautiful watermelons, tomatoes, papaya, lettuces, corn, peppers, zucchini, and more. There's a good mix of vendors ranging from jewelry and handcrafted goods to food trucks and specialty food items. We got mango coladas, mango flower with tajin, breakfast tacos, and of course, kettle corn. Huge plus that there is the downtown splash pad for all the kids to play right in the middle of all the action. It was a HOT one and this was a great way for my little guy to cool off and burn some energy while we sat and enjoyed our food. If you have kids, I highly suggest they wear their swimsuits and bring some towels to dry off.

My garden will pop once I find the right spots for them. The people are friendly and gladly helped us find our perfect orchids. They moved this small open air market from Lake Lily to the City Hall area.
