Great public pistol and rifle gun range including an archery area. Bring all your guns and ammunition. Skeet and sporting clays too. Range master on duty and they supply targets for .60 cents and a box of 50 rounds of 9mm for $22.50. No gun rentals here. Saturdays and Sundays open until 5pm. Very cheap to shoot at this range for $16.00 for three hours.

Paul at the archery range was friendly, knowledgeable and made my group feel at home. The office staff were efficient and pleasant. I really had a great time there on the archery range

We've been the very first time on a shooting range beside the "touristic" in Las Vegas. The ranger are friendly and gave some useful tips. I felt safe all the time. Longest distance about 100 yard. Amazing place. We will come again.

Have been to this range dozens of times throughout the years, better than going to indoor ranges. It's outdoors, so summertime expect the heat and to sweat, but also keeps people away because of the heat. I have a few complaints to go along with compliments. I've always gotten along with the RO's for the most part they are pretty laid back. I have seen them get on people that they have to tell things multiple times. PROS- -relatively cheap still to shoot- around 15-16 for 3-4 hours or the whole day if you go on weekdays -The shooting stalls can shoot both handguns and rifles. You can bring upto 4 guns per person -weekdays it's relatively empty to shoot the wait to get in goes fast -The range goes out to 100 yards -You can shoot in any position you want from the bench, prone, standing. -The RO's will give you a hand and some help if you need it, just ask -No problems bringing NFA items there- SBR's, Suppressors no full auto though -Bathroom and vending machines on site CONS- -The 1 shot per 3-5 seconds really needs to go away. It's hard to practice follow up shots when you aren't allowed to do it. I'm not asking for full mag dump, but some leeway on real shooting follow up shots not everyone wants to shoot at a bolt action rate -This might be a county rule there, but wish they would allow other targets besides just the circle paper targets, like some steel would be cool to hit, also person silhouettes would be nice - More stalls than RO's so you can get bunched together when shooting -Weekend shooting gets really busy fast and arrive early or be prepared to wait hours Overall I don't think you can go wrong coming to this range to shoot. I would say please familiarize yourself with you weapon first at home before coming to the range-practice reloading dropping the magazine, racking the slide-squeezing the trigger. I have seen some old timers and young guys there that had a gun that they bought for self defense or just get into shooting, have no idea how to load or rack it and things could have ended badly if not for the RO's coming over to help out.

I always enjoy going to this gun range. Sometimes there is a waiting time to shoot but its worth waiting. Safety officers are always friendly, on top of the game and there when you need them.

I'm a relatively new shooter and I've only really gotten into firearms within the last 6 months. I'm originally from New York and all the experiences I've had at outdoor ranges there have regrettably tainted my view of them; A lot of old, grumpy, men that weren't at all helpful and extremely cold. I'm pleased to say that Markham's employees have completely changed my view of outdoor ranges and have made their range my new go to spot. First of all, the range master that was overlooking our booth was super helpful to that point that he even spotted some of my shots without me even asking. Before even that, he made sure my buddy and I knew how the range operates and helped us set up our targets. It was very comforting to know that someone had our best interests in mind. I really love this place and can hardly wait to go back.

I try from Big Pine Key in the Keys just to shoot here because:…read more1. The price is right (20 bucks for three hours? That just does not exist where I come from.) No pressure to get your shooting done and to leave. I suppose if you needed more than 3 hours, they wouldn't care. 2. It's outside, and open style range type. I'm not cramped up in a little stall. 3. There is someone there (Eric), but no one is up your ass acting Fudd. It appears like Eric isn't always looking at everyone, but do something unsafe or break the rules, he seems to be on it right away, leaving you wondering, where the hell did he pop out from. Eric is very helpful and he always has a trick up his sleeve if your gun has a problem. I have learned a thing or two from him each time I have been there. He is also very nice and patient. 4. Speaking of Fudd. AK, AR, legal full auto, rapid fire, exploding targets-all ok. They leave the Fudd to the other ranges I've been. That being said, I'd bring your own IFAK--you are a long ways from nowhere with a bumpy slow road for an ambulance to get there if an accident happened. Remember, you are your own First Responder. The Downsides( or what I might call what to watch out for). 1. You should have a truck or SUV to make it out there. Road is bumpy and muddy. Your vehicle will be dirty. 2. This is not the place to go if you are a first time shooter or a non shooter. As someone else stated, this is not the place I would bring a kid. You are going to hear rapid fire, explosions, and you are going to get hit by many ejecting shell casings when you are up on the line. (bring your own eye and hearing protection). It is very easy to feel like you are in a fire fight on a battlefield when standing up on the line and everyone is shooting at once, esp. if there are a lot of shooters and a few have compensators on the end of their guns. You're gonna "feel" the concussion from multiple angles, at mutilple rates of fire and a new shooter might find this disconcerting. 3. Bathroom situation sucks. Be prepared to piss in the weeds. Works for me, but might not work with the ladies. 4. Bring everything you need. You will need bug spray. Prolly also need some suncreen. Bring your own refreshments. I mean bottled water too. Obviously, bring your guns (there's no rentals), and bring all your own ammo. They might have a target for you, but don't count on it. I always bring my own. Bring shoes that you won't mind getting muddy. That place can get very muddy. 5. Bring cash. $20/person. They don't take credit cards. 6. It's an eclectic crowd. All demographics on site and accepted. Everyone I have met there is nice/friendly. Most are willing to help you. That being said, one group I have seen there which I don't care for is, there are always a couple of people drinking there. In such cases, when those people are shooting on the line, I just stay back at my table until they are done. Just my belief-alcohol and guns just don't mix. You are going to have fun here.

The Chinese instructor that works HAS A VERY VERY NASTY ATTITUDE he does not know how to speak to…read morepeople at all he gives you sarcastic answers when asking for help or just anything in general. He makes shooting at this range really uncomfortable and not fun at all this is my second encounter with him and it's always the same story! Lost my business never coming here again
