Steak was too chewy to eat. Completely inedible.
    Suki T.

Came back to give dinner a chance and was severely disappointed. This place gets one star and the only star is for Angie, the waitress, who was very nice and apologetic. I got the ribeye and it was horrible. It was overcooked, yet still cold, and lacked flavor. Even worse, it was so chewy it was not edible. I tried eating different parts of the steak but the entire cut was butchered--no pun intended. I barely ate any of it and had to leave it there. The chicken my table ordered was tasty, but very chewy as well. They did take $22 off the $48 steak and comped us a cheesecake slice, but most respectable restaurants would've taken the entire item off, especially since I ate two bites and didn't take anything home. The party next to us also seemed to have a bad experience, as they looked over at us and said their experience was not good either. I really hope this place can get it together, but unfortunately, I will probably never come back.

Pretty yummy options. We went for breakfast and tried the Corned Beef Hash and the Huevos Rancheros. Food was good and tasted fresh. I want to go back and try lunch or dinner.

We have dined at all the Marlo's locations in Temple City and Duarte. This Italian restaurant replaced Bella Serra on Myrtle and is in a soft open mode. The food is excellent and the chef was inviting. I'm thinking of bring the whole family to this new location!

We originally were going to go across the street for breakfast but the wait was long and saw the review here that they are a new business, so we decided to support and came over! The servers were very welcoming. Our server was Antonio and he took his time explaining the menu to us and the favorite dishes. We decided to order: Chile verde chilaquiles with rib eye Pork chop with scrambled eggs/hashbrown Pork chile verde with beans and scrambled eggs Huevos con chorizo. All the dishes had a combination of either hashbrown or rice and beans along with some tortillas. We also ordered cafe de olla. The cafe de olla was AMAZING! No sugar or creamer necessary! Trust me, you won't regret it. The pork from both the pork chop and chile verde pork plates was so tender and juicy! The sauce on the chile verde pork plate was so flavorful. Although the plates say chile, don't be scared it wasn't spicy! The chorizo on the eggs was also very good. Not too dry.y husband devoured the chilaquiles and the rib eye was very tender. Also decided to try a dessert here so we got the chocolate fudge cake. It was actually good, not too rich in chocolate or too sweet that all you can do is take one bite. This one with the coffee was a good combo. The place is not too noisy, just your usual conversations around you. Overall an amazing spot for breakfast! Would love to come try them for lunch or dinner if we are ever in the area again! So please don't hesitate to come try them out! Definitely recommend!

Love mom and pop business! The owner was on his feet the entire time and working In the kitchen and the wife was the waitress and also on her feet. They are so kind and personable and friendly. They make sure their customers are happy and feel like a community vibe. And the food- omgosh yesssssss. Freshly made and super warm. Legit Italian chef! Lots of vegetarian options I hope they make vegetarian lasagna next! Get the desserts too

Went to breakfast with the family today. The service was great--very friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and portions were generous. The opinions were that the French toast was "the best I've ever eaten," and the "chilaquiles were better than that 'other place'." I personally thought their breakfast sausage alone was worth 5 stars. I hope more people give this gem a try--we will definitely be back!

Tried it today for brunch. The food was great and the help even better, Very large menu so you will find something you like. Prices were very fair and portions are large. We took home 1/2 our meals. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Great new spot in Monrovia! Perfect for a little walk and then join on breakfast or a nice dinner. What an amazing gem and great food. The owners treat everyone like family and always welcome everyone with a warm smile. Food is amazing!

To be fair, I didn't know if the place was open or not as the windows and doors are not visible to the inside so I wasn't sure when they are really open. It is a family owned restaurant therefore I expect many changes when they need to make changes such as closing early on certain days. I was a little late to the table so I didn't get a chance to really study the menu but I really wanted to try the sautéed chicken with penne because it sounded like it would be super indulgent with butter as the sauce. I ordered a full order as they also had light orders which is half the portion at a reduced price. But I was hungry, and it also came with garlic bread or bread and butter. It did take a while for food to arrive, I think we aren't used to a long wait since usually bread would arrive first. My aunt and uncle got soup (minestrone) served first so maybe if we ordered salads we would've gotten them before the entrees too. The Alex special pizza came first as our entree and boy the crust was crispy! Lots of toppings and the cheese pull was amazing. Parts were a bit hard to chew but only after it's been sitting for a while because when it was fresh it was crispy, then soft and chewy. My sautéed chicken dish came after and it was hot! All the plates are hot so be careful! So hot my uncle burned his mouth on the stretchy cheese from the lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs. The chicken and mushrooms were so delicious, I ate all the mushrooms first and even used the pizza crust to soak the extra butter from the penne. The garlic bread and bread came really last, at least it was fresh so it was a good wait. Yes there's a lot of butter oil, but I expected it when the dish on the menu said to choose a sauce which was butter or olive oil. We didn't get dessert because we were so full! We had plenty of leftovers for another meal. They gave us boxes and a pizza box to take our food home. I really want to try again with my parents and others, the dessert menu sounds like a great selection of Italian sweets but what I really want again is the bread and butter. It was so good, the butter was salty which really makes it a star.

From the first person who approuched our table, who from what we guess was a host with a horrible thick Italian accent trying to sell us up on the chef's current overpriced specials, to the unknowledgeable wait staff their customer service was a joke. The food was average at best. We ordered the Oxtail Tagliolini ( a suggestion by the "host?") and the Al Salmon Pasta. The salmon wasn't as good as our usual spot Di Pilla's Italian Restaurant and the oxtail was riddled with small bones which made for a very cautious eat. Just be prepared when reading Yelp reviews and think twice when you see 5 stars.

He repeated that he wanted it boxed to go. The manager said, "just take a couple of bites". Again, husband repeated to box his meal to go. In addition I asked for my entree (chicken parm) to go as well, since it got cold while waiting for my husband's dinner to arrive. 4. We were never offered refills on our drinks. 5. The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. Rice pilaf was savory, I'd rather not know just how many calories are included, the rice was still moist even after reheating the next day.
