Pasta Sampler with ravioli and pink sauce - if you like pink sauce you'll love theirs!
    Hannah S.

This family-owned local gem has been popping up in my feed a lot lately so we finally made it in for a dinner. Highlights were the garlic bread and gnocchi, and their pink sauce is to die for! Service was very friendly but the vibes inside were a little strange - I'd definitely come back but would opt for take out. For our dinner we both got the pasta sampler which comes with a half order of their lasagna and two other types of pasta of your choice. Hubby opted for the gnocchi and angel hair and I opted for the ravoli (half meat and half cheese). The server recommended their pink sauce and it was absolutely fantastic! It's a mix of their Alfredo and marinara so if you love pink sauce, theirs is a must for sure. We started with side Caesar salads and they were pretty decent with an ample portion. We also got an order of garlic bread and ommggg it was some of the best garlic bread I've ever had - highly recommend. You'll need it to soak up the more than generous amount of sauce they give you lol! Lots of garlicky butter with a crispy outside and soft inside. Excellent with their flawless pink sauce. Unfortunately I didn't care for their lasagna at all. It had a strange aftertaste and the meat almost tasted burnt. I wouldn't get it again. But their ravioli and gnocchi were both fantastic. Great flavors and the texture of the gnocchi was lovely - might have been the best gnocchi I ever had and I would definitely get this again. We finished our meal with their Spumoni dessert and it was also delicious. Where other Italian restaurants serve it as a bowl of ice cream, Alex's serve it as a decorative slice of ice cream cake and it's so nice! Would also get this again. We almost thought they were closed at first when we walked in - it was late afternoon on a weekday and the restaurant was very dark with a divey, seedy feel to it. And it was completely silent except for banter and music coming from the kitchen - even though there were several other parties dining in. Maybe it's more lively during dinner rush hours? Felt very weird sitting in our dark little corner lol. Despite the weird vibe, staff were helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome by them. Prices are pretty fair for the area - I'd say mid range. And the portions are massive so it's a good deal. They're located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking.

I drive past this place frequently while running errands and have always been curious so I finally looked at their website and was really surprised by the low prices. A few friends and I decided to get take away from here and sample a bunch of stuff and overall were very impressed! The portions are massive for the cost, you're getting great value. Is it date night special occasion high quality Italian food? No. Is it home cookin made with love Italian food? Absolutely. The chicken on the Alfredo was so well cooked and juicy, the meatballs were tender and flavorful. The side salad is just a pile of iceberg and 4 cherry tomatoes which was a bit disappointing but the dressing (not sure if house made) was delicious. The portion size of one order of mozz sticks is wild. Honestly this place is going to be on my weeknight takeaway rotation.

We've driven by them dozens of time, but never tried even though we live about 5 minutes away. After some friends mentioned they came recently and the food was good, we decided to make a trip here. Arrived during dinner time on a Saturday, there were only a few tables occupied so we were seated immediately. The inside clearly shows it hasn't been remodeled for many years, and that's the charm of it. There are many framed photos by the waiting area in front, plus photos of Italian landmarks and faux brick framed windows to resemble old Italian buildings. The menu is fairly simple. Several common pasta dishes and pizza. First time here so I wanted to try their pasta sampler, which is a half order of Lasagna and choice of 2 pastas. I picked gnocchi and ravioli. The lasagna wasn't bad but very cheesy. The ravioli was just ok. I couldn't tell if the beef was seasoned or not under the meat sauce. The gnocchi could be a bit more al dente, but it had a good chew. The penne in garlic and olive oil was severely bland. I don't think there was even a bit of salt and tasted literally like what the name is, and nothing else. The service was inconsistent. The first gal that served us was better. She was a bit more personable and checked up on us once, then went to help another section. There were 2 other gals, even though they walked by is a few times, they never bothered to even look over, and as another review said, one gal basically just came by with the check and said 'here'. As we left, I see a few of the gals huddled around the back chatting. Charming interior: 3 Service: 2.5 Pasta sampler: 3 Penne in olive oil and garlic: 1.5 Garlic bread: 4 Hard to give this place anything above a 3. I'm not sure what others have experienced to rate it so high but we surely didn't get that warm welcoming service or excellent food.

What's up: Dinner with the family and this time we opted to do Italian. So with a bit of Yelping, we found this place to try. Parking: Parking is available in the strip mall where the restaurant is located. It's also shared with the nearby businesses, so it can be busy. Street parking is also another option. Environment: We came around dinner time so there was a short wait before we were seated. Tara took care of us and she was so nice. She knew the menu well and provided suggestions and told us her favorites. After a bit of a wait, the food came and it looked delicious. The place was comfy with a mix of tables and booth seating. Restrooms are located down the hall near the kitchen area. What was ordered: - Green Salad - Alex's Special Large Pizza (yummy with lots of toppings) - Pasta Sampler (a mix of 3 types of pasta that we picked and it was super saucy. We got spaghetti, ravioli, and lasagna) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The food was good and I really liked how cheesy the pizza was. The pasta sampler was good too but had too much sauce for my taste. Other than that, we were quite happy with our experience here. The staff members were so nice. Credit cards are accepted.

It was a busy but at the same time cozy and chill environment. The servers were average but at the same time pretty nice, but the food, it was good! The creamy, marinara sauce while you bit into it, it was good! The only thing that could improve is the fact that there were some boxes just laying around. However, this place is great and I look forward to coming again! ")

This place is a hit or miss. My 1st time I did an order to go and it was delicious. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp it was full of flavor and made me want to return for more . 2nd time dining in I ordered the same thing I had brought my family because I had hyped the place tell them it was going to be good . Oh was I embarrassed. The service was cringeworthy. Everyone's food was bland and tasted watered down . I asked for extra garlic in my pasta I was told it would be an up charge and I didn't mind but when my food was brought I asked if extra garlic had been put in my pasta and the waitress told me "I don't know" when I received the bill it wasn't even written down .We kept having different waitresses check on us because they were too concerned about watching the Coachella live stream they didn't even stay long enough for me to ask them anything . I had to hunt down a waitress to ask for a fork. I thought I had found my new favorite Italian restaurant but i guess I'll have to keep searching . Eat here if you wanna gamble on getting bland pasta and sauce that tastes like it's from the jar . Just like another reviewer stated I just wanted to get out of there asap , I was nothing less than disappointed with my dining experience.

Why did it take me so long to try Alex Di Peppe?! I live down the street yet didn't give them a try until today, and boy...am I glad I did! We order the large Alex Special Pizza and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with extra sauce. The pizza was really good and the dough had a nice chew to it. I asked for extra sauce for the chicken fettuccine Alfredo because most places come a little dry, but boy... Did they give us a lot of sauce which we did in mind at all because we dipped our pizza crust in it. The sauce was so good! We're already making plans to go back to try other items at Alex! Don't be like us and wait to try their food!

The fettuccine alfredo is very creamy. It came in a big plate but was so slurp-able, easily finish! The pasta comes with either garlic bread of bread with dipping oil. We got the garlic bread. It's not fancy but still tasty. We also got large size pepperoni pizza. It's very cheesy. The cheese and topping can flop out and you're left with just the bread. It's good cuz it's pizza, but nothing special imo. Maybe if you go with their specialty with roasted eggplant and garlic... Staff are also friendly. Atmosphere is probably great for romantic dinner or family, really anything goes.

I was looking for some authentic Italian restaurant in the midst of SGV and this is what I was exactly looking for. It's a very small place at a middle of nowhere ish plaza, but service and food was AMAZING. We tried out a few different things and they have various portions from 1 person to a family style for the salads or pasta. All the ingredients tasted really good. If you're vegetarian, you MUST try the vegetarian pizza. I've never had a veggie pizza packed with this many toppings and flavor. Highly recommend. Portions for family sizes are quite large so we had a lot of leftovers because I was so excited. Definitely coming back.

Nice, cozy restaurant located in the 'City of Arcadia, CA. I ordered their Alex Special pizza and beef lasagna to go. When I arrived, I realized the parking lot was so small, so that took awhile for me to properly park. At least they offer free plaza parking. I'll be back to try a different dish, but I absolutely enjoyed the lasagna dish I ordered. I visited this restaurant 2x now, and today wasn't that crowded compared to last time on St. Patrick's Day/2024. Once again, I lucked out on parking.

Great place for some comfort food. All pasta dishes are delicious as well as their pizzas. I always come for their Hawaiian pizza, a childhood favorite. Service is great.

Ask the Community - Alex Di Peppe's Italian Restaurant

    Is this place dine in?

Yes! We went 2 weeks ago and it's dine in and take out :)

    I have a group of 40 celebrating an 80th birthday-could you accommodate?

I would check in with owner Larry Di Peppe. A group of 40 would certainly fill up this restaurant. He does have a banquet area.

They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

Just be careful because there are some tricky signs that say $1.50 in large font and for each 15 minutes in tiny font. Even with a reservation from Resy, we found that it was still a bit of a wait. Without the reservation, you might be limited to patio parking only. Even their bar area was busy and reserved during our time there. I didn't mind the waiting, but it was stressful waiting in a tight space with their staff coming in and out with huge piles of dishes and you have to be careful if you don't want to be bumped into. This feeling of crowdedness continues to the tables with the spacing between one table to another very tight together. More to this in a bit. The hostess was so sweet, she actually sent us a complimentary Blistered Bread and Ricotta ($14) dish that we both really enjoyed to make up for the wait. The blistered bread was masterfully executed, very thin and went perfectly with the ricotta dip. Once again, I didn't mind the wait at all. That was not the problem with my meal. Anyways... going on... the waiter... the waiter we had was really grumpy. Not sure if it's just his personality or he was having a bad day. For instance, I was ready to get the white wine flight but then he was, very poorly, explaining it to the point where I was talked out of it. Then I was about to get a glass of wine or bubbly... Then once again he basically talks me out of it. Nevermind I'll drink water... I guess you don't need to earn a better tip. In addition to the trouble he gave me while order. When he came to ask me about my experience. I honestly responded that it could be better, due to the table next to us. He basically gaslit me like well it's a big party, what do you expect? Wow this inconsiderate family of kids bumping into my table, making fart sounds on purpose, cursing adults, and loud loud kids and adults... You expect me to feel like this is normal behavior and enjoy it. I straight up told him, well YOU ASKED ME, I'm just answered your question. He begrudgingly moved us but basically ignored us for the rest of the night Anyways, as for the food... I thought the food would be pretty fantastic since the restaurant was so busy. It had all of the signs of a successful restaurant. My boyfriend and I shared the following: Squash Blossoms ($16) - I love squash blossoms. My boyfriend knew I wouldn't be able to resist ordering it. Their preparation of this delicate ingredient was heavy for my liking. The batter on it was thick and oily. The toasted hazelnuts were unnecessary. House Italian Sausage ($26) - They have one of those pizza ovens. The crust was thin and crispy. It was well prepared. However the issue we had with this was the flavor, or rather lacking flavor. The taste of the Italian sausage was overwhelmed by the red onion agrodolce. We both ate a slice and took the rest home. Even as leftovers we weren't excited to eat it. Charred Scallop Risotto ($38) - What really sold me was the baja uni batter that I did not taste much of in this dish. This was a poor execution of a risotto. The texture was off, and the flavor was overwhelmed by whatever cheese they used in this dish. The charred scallop was one single scallop cut in half and overly charred and rubbery in taste. The blue shrimp were shriveled too. We made sure to eat the proteins to prevent waste but you know it's bad when my boyfriend didn't even want to togo this dish. He normally eats anything to prevent waste. Branzino alla Griglia ($38) - Whole grilled branzino topped with eggplant, salsa verde and herb salad. This was the least bad item that we paid for... Although there was a lot of bones to be cautious of. I understand the risk of stumbling on a few bones when ordering a whole fish but this was more than I would have liked. I also didn't like some of the flavors coating the fish. Although from a grilled perspective it was crispy and perfectly cooked. This is a popular business with plenty of patrons to keep them busy. Whatever they like... it isn't what I look for in a business I frequent. I know they don't need my business and I will gladly stay away and save myself all of the trouble. This was way too stressful and there weren't any dishes I need to have again. My experience was so awful I'm being very generous with this 3 star, which is "average".

Further, the staff is extremely accommodating with any and all allergies/food restrictions. My mom is vegan and I'm vegetarian, and that has never been an issue at all. We've never left feeling bloated or sick once. If there is a long wait during the rush hours, their staff upfront is prompt and alerts you immediately when your table/seat at the bar is ready. Oftentimes, the wait they tell us is usually longer than what we end up actually waiting, so they're all very efficient.

The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. Rice pilaf was savory, I'd rather not know just how many calories are included, the rice was still moist even after reheating the next day.

However, the dining room was a little too dark, making it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. Unfortunately, the food was just average. Some of the dishes tasted slightly burnt, which affected the flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either. The good news is that there are plenty of other great restaurants along the same street, so you have lots of choices. I'd recommend exploring one of the nearby spots instead.

From the…read moremoment I sat at the bar, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making sure I was satisfied throughout the evening. I started with an incredible appetizer featuring several varieties of fried mushrooms paired with red wine--absolutely delicious and full of flavor. For my entrée, I enjoyed the shrimp pasta with white wine sauce, which was perfectly prepared and tasted authentic and fresh. To finish the meal, I had the apple crust dessert topped with vanilla ice cream, and it was the perfect ending to an outstanding dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Honestly, for a moment I felt like I was sitting in a restaurant in Italy. I highly recommend Pane E Vino and will definitely be returning. Five stars all the way!

Older gentlemen (not sure if he is the owner/manager) came out and was very cold, curt, borderline rude telling us the kitchen was closed and to leave. How were we to know at the time they were closing the kitchen? No signs were posted outside. We only came in because his pal waived us in. An honest mistake on our part. I feel after being a regular patron we did not deserve such impudent behavior, no normal abiding patron does.
