Amazing spot for a date night or dinner with your friends! This restaurant imports their pasta daily from Italy. We ordered off the tasting menu which gave a really nice variety of starters and pastas. The portions were generous and our entire party was stuffed by the end of the meal. I believe they don't accept reservations so be sure to get here early on weekends or during peak hours.

With no reservations allowed, we waited an hour to try this restaurant and sit on the patio with our dog. The patio was comfortable with heaters and enough space per table. We ordered the classic and truffle & cheese menus. The price per person is an accessible amount, but realistically makes sense given the smaller portions. Even for the small desserts, you are expected to share between 2 people. I really liked their fresh pasta, though some family members found their pasta to be too salty. The standout was honestly the first course yellowtail, which was fresh and not overly dressed. Service was good, as we ordered and had each round come out quickly after the other. I think this place is good overall, but not worth a long wait or somewhere to go with a large appetite.

I'm obsessed. Last time I was in LA, I met up with a friend here for dinner. We ordered off the tasting menu and selected "The Regional" which includes Battuta de carne, ragú, tortellini, amatriciana, and pan a cotta con saba. for $35 per person, it was a good amount of food! Not to mention it was fresh, aromatic and delicious. I've been to Italy and this place is the closest I've come to anything I had out there. Also, not to mention, the pasta is handmade in Bologna, Italy and shipped overnight in a temperature controlled cabin. They do this because Italian eggs are key to their pasta!! We were seated outside, I didn't mind as the weather was perfect for al fresco dining and the service was great, highly recommend getting there as early as they open as they do not take reservations and operate strictly on a first come first serve basis. I always park in the parking structure because I never have a problem finding parking in there.

I finally made it to the Pasadena location for a late birthday dinner with my boyfriend on a Monday night, and it was such a surprisingly great experience! We actually tried to come here a long time ago, but the wait was so bad that we just gave up. My boyfriend has been to the Marina Del Rey location multiple times, so I didn't really have any expectations after our first attempt to come here. But There was no wait at all, and we got to sit right at the counter. I think it was the best seat in the house because we were right in front of the cheese wheel and got to watch the chefs cook everything fresh. The vibes inside the restaurant were great and the service was great too. As for the food, the yellowtail we ordered was alright. it tasted great but wasn't exactly mind-blowing. The pasta was the real highlight, specifically the carbonara, which was fantastic! I also tried the Amatriciana, but it was a little too salty for me, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. But my bf loved it!!! guanciale pieces were really tasty!! The parmigiano they use is incredible, though, and I'm already thinking of coming back just for their cheesy pasta. I'll definitely be sticking to any pasta that features their parmigiano next time. Overall, the ambiance was perfect and it was such a win for a Monday night dinner!

Wow, so good! We did one of the tasting menus, and not only was everything delicious and well plated, the portions were reasonable. I left satisfied but not overly stuffed. My fave was the ragu, but all of the pastas were fresh and you could taste the quality. I also liked that they were a tipping free restaurant. Your bill is your bill, which I found to be quite reasonable for the quality of food. Would totally recommend this place and would also return!

I came here with a friend while the dude was at a Pokémon event nearby and I wanted to over indulge in carbs! We didn't have a reservation but were seated on the patio without an issue. Our hostess was an instant favorite very warm, welcoming, and genuinely made the experience better. She recommended the trio deal (salad, three pastas, and dessert). Honestly, it's the move. I'm vegetarian and gluten sensitive, so I subbed for salad, which ended up being fresh and flavorful. No complaints there, I had to balance it out. The three pastas were all completely different, which I appreciated...each one delivered in its own way and definitely satisfied the craving. Oh yah,, they don't have bread. Dessert. Im more of an ice cream chick and I don't even like coffee- lavored desserts, but the tiramisu is so simple yet memorable. Wine only menu...no rosé but what I had was nice. Went well with my meal. Overall, great food, great service, and a farmers market in the courtyard that made the whole experience feel a little extra special. I'd come back. Check it out!

Staff is always so sweet and attentive! We ordered a few other diahes (not photographed). Everything is great but what i keep experiencing with their dishes whether it be the pasadena location or the ventura one is their dishes are always on the salty side. I don't mind flavor but leave a little room for guests to add salt if needed. There needs to be a balance so you don't have the necessity to drink water over every bite. But otherwise portions & prices are great.

Gosh, where do I begin?? I had been wanting to try UOVO for about a year now and it totally exceeded my expectations. Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant was very atmospheric with warm, yellow lighting. We didn't wait very long on a Sunday night and got seated at the bar, which had an open kitchen which I always love. Watching the chefs prepare the pasta was such a fun addition to the meal. My boyfriend and I ordered the cheese & truffle tasting menu, which came with the yellowtail crudo, truffle pasta, pomodoro, cacio e pepe (made in the cheese wheel), and tiramisu. We added the tartare on the side. Literally every single dish was absolutely delicious and blew our minds! My favorites were the tartare and the truffle pasta. I think the crudo could've maybe used a bit more acidity to balance out the flavors, but that honestly might be my only critique. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente every time, and I loved the flat texture of the truffle pasta. Personally, I think the portion sizes were also perfect because I feel like I would've been overwhelmed with any more of each pasta. The tiramisu was a cute little cup, a great sweet treat at the end of the meal. Our server and chef were amazing throughout the meal and even made small talk with us, which is something I love at a restaurant like this. At the end of the meal, the manager introduced us and asked our names! I don't think I've ever experienced being asked my name at a restaurant before so it was a very nice touch. It felt like we made a personal connection with everyone who served us. With the ambiance, service, and food itself, everything about UOVO Pasadena is a 10/10 and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

Came back, and the lasagna was so good. I HIGHLY recommend it. The Ragu pasta wasn't as oily this time around too. Service was great, and the ambiance was lovely.

This is our favorite Uovo location. Consistent with quality of dishes and flavor. Nothing beats pasta from Italy. Dishes are not overly seasoned or greasy. My favorite dishes are the Ragu, Carbonara & funghi mushrooms as a side. Their Yellowtail Crudo is delicious and I'm certain any other meals you're interested in will deliver that quality Italian dish you've been craving. Staff and servers are always welcoming and helpful. Cute patio seating outside with limited tables inside but has ample bar seating as well. Quaint, clean and modern rustic would be the style of restaurant.

    Amatriciana Highly Recommend

Based on how busy this restaurant is at night, I decided to forgo the crowds and arrived in the afternoon. Seeing the pasta cook in front of you in an intimate setting was like having front row seats to a culinary experience. Ordered the following: 1. Amatriciana pasta, my personal favorite 2. Cacio De Pepe 3. Broccolini They offer a tasting menu for $30 to $40 dollars, which looked interesting but ultimately you order what the restaurant is known for :) Pasta

So the food was so good the only picture I remembered to take was the appetizer. The rest of our order was the Ragú, Lasagna, and broccolini with two teas which comes in their own bottle to keep the drink fresh and cool. The pasta is delicious and light. Here I thought there would be leftovers to take home. Boy was I wrong. What I was also wrong about is that this establishment has a no tipping policy. The night manager introduced himself to us and made sure we were doing well. Cool ambience too tucked away on the corner of the courtyard. Private like but with chill music for a cool Sunday evening dinner date. Definitely a new spot to revisit.

This place is perfect for a solo date! I didn't wait at all, the service was good, and the ambiance is nice. It's dimly lit and they cook in front of you. I got the yellowtail crudo, amatriciana, and the truffle pasta. The truffle pasta was soooo good! I want to come back for it! The Amatriciana was also good but next time I want to try the Cacio e Pepe. I've heard good things about the yellowtail Crudo but I'm not sure if I just came on an off night for it but it didn't wow me! It was a little bland I wish it had more of the citrus flavor to it. Overall I would def come back when craving pasta.

How is the place Saturday mornings as soon as they open when it comes to wait times?

What is the average wait time for a party of 4 on a Saturday at 7pm?

We were there about a month ago (December) and after an hour of waiting, we gave up and ate next door at the Chinese place. 30 minutes into our meal is when a table opened up for us.

What's the seating capacity at your restaurant? We'd like to show up at 6:30 for a party of four celebrating my wife 75th birthday. What are the chances of not waiting longer than 20 minutes for a table?

Its smaller so I'd see about getting a reservation. Ive only been once so not sure if they take reservations. Good luck and I hope it makes an impression. Just so happens taking our daughter there today.

What is the average wait time for party of 4 on a Friday around 6 pm?

    I would say 45min to 1.5hours

Are the tasting menus available for solo diners?

No, the tasting menu serves two people. If a solo diner would like the tasting menu, the diner would still need to pay for two.

    Where is parking?

Street parking using the passport app or multilevel 60 min validated /discounted parking (entrance on the street in back of the strip mall). Two blocks south, on the same side of the street, there's free parking in back of the stores.

    Are you kosher?

They serve pork in some dishes, also a clam pasta.

Are they able to seat large parties (group of 14)?

Based on how the tables are arranged, your group would be split up into multiple tables. I do not think it is conducive to a group that size.

Is there a corkage fee? How much?

    $20

    How do you make reservations?

They do not take reservations. It's first come first serve.

Is the portion size too small?

Its about right. Pasta is filling so not much is needed. I don't believe they are shareable sizes. If you are very hungry, pasta alone might not be enough.

    Any Vegan Options?

Like 1 or 2. There are barely even any vegetarian options.

    Ate there vegetarian options?

Hi. I am wondering does this location open everyday? I went there today w kids and is not open... so, will the Yelp showing the correct info? Sep 4. 2023

Today was a holiday (Labor Day) so I'm assuming that's why they were closed cause normally they are open 7 days a week (according to Google)

    Do they take reservations?

    Nope

Do they do Take out? The voicemail attached to this phone number says we are calling Studio city.

Unfortunately, they don't do take out at this time. I was there last week & overheard them telling another customer this.

    Dogs allowed outside patio?

    Only service dogs allowed.

Does the new Pasadena location have table seating or just bar seating?

    Both :)

    Do you take reservations?

    No first come first serve

    Is there a wait!!!?

Not always depends on the time. It's worth the wait!

You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. One wrong move and you'll be thinking about it halfway through your bowl like, "I should've gone wider."

They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.
