Hood building community to a serious issue involving Doug Wells, who we worked with through our contractor while building a rental cabin. Doug was hired in October 2024 to install glass throughout our cabin, including stair railings, loft railings, and shower doors. What followed was months of missed deadlines, emotional manipulation, and ultimately, fraud. By March 2025 (6 months after he was given the contract, other contractors say this job can be completed in 2 weeks) Doug repeatedly delayed the project - by more than seven weeks past our final timeline. He told a string of highly disturbing stories, including fatal car accidents and even his child being taken off life support, in what we later discovered were fabricated excuses. After becoming suspicious, we contacted the glass supplier directly and were shocked to learn Doug had deceived them too- obtaining materials without payment and leaving them with thousands of dollars in losses. Meanwhile, Doug kept tens of thousands of dollars from us without fulfilling his obligations. We have now had to press legal charges. Doug has demonstrated a clear and ongoing pattern of dishonesty and fraud. Please DO NOT work with him under any circumstances.
