Everyone that we dealt with in the store was friendly and attentive, but Gerritt was the main person with whom we dealt. I came in expecting to have to order what we were looking for, but Gerritt emerged from the vault carrying just what we needed. He was great about listening to what we had to say and did not push anything upon us. No pressure at all. We got out of there with the rifle and everything else that was needed to go with it. Haven't purchased a firearm here so I'm not sure on their prices. Staff was friendly but I wouldn't recommend this place for a trade or to sell a firearm, insultingly low offer. $175 for a Glock 19. Stopped by this place to get iron sights on my new pistol slide. As I entered I started getting help from a younger guy. First off I was looking for an iron sight that glows in the dark. But he handed me a fiber iron sight. I thought it was glow in the dark. Came out after installing and said all done. I asked it glows in the dark right, he said oh guess I should've communicated better. So I asked him to switch it to another one that actually glows in the dark. Came back and saw my slide all scratched up around the iron sight area. I asked him, hey my slide is scratched up/scuffed. He responded 'oh woman love battle scars, that's what woman like. I was like wtf is that suppose to mean. I spent $400 on brand new pistol slide and this guy tells me 'oh woman like the battle scars' after leaving scratch marks removing the CERAKOTE. Fuckin joke. And to top it off, my iron sight is not even centered. read more

I really wanted to like this store as it was nearby and had good reviews. For the most part, the staff has been knowledgeable and patient with my family and me. Most of my questions about the features of various firearms have been answered without making me feel like an idiot, and they made sure I was able to pull back the slide before recommending a few handguns. Unfortunately the one I ended up purchasing turned out to be a lemon, and after more research I found that particular model to be notorious for the problems I was having. I know that this is not the fault of the dealer, so I brought it back to Marksmen to have them look at it and clean it. This is where my problems with them began. First, they quit answering their phones, and willingly admit they don't even check their voice mail and have no plans to. I understand they are busy right now, but it's no excuse. I was informed that it would be a couple of days for them to look at, clean, and test the gun. Four days later I came in to ask if it had been cleaned and they hadn't even gotten to it. Promised me they'd do it that evening after close. Came in the next morning and the young man who cleaned and tested it told me that he stuck it in a vise, fired 2 magazines, and informed me that I was firing it incorrectly because I was letting it bounce back too much from the recoil because it didn't have that problem in the vise. My husband informed him that it gave him the same problems, and the staff member looked a little sheepish but insisted it was user error. While this was my first firearm purchase for myself, it most certainly was not the first one I've fired. I've had my share of sexist employees treating me poorly at various establishments, and when it happens I no longer shop there. I will ignore minor mistakes (I've worked in retail before, stuff happens), but I refuse to be treated rudely. As a side note, the manufacturer admits my particular model has issues and has been working with me to address it. read more

Moved here from another state and had to have a pistol shipped to Marksmen to hold for me until I could arrive and get settled in in Texas. Had a few set backs so wasn't able to pick up gun right away. When in to advise them off the delay and they were understanding and helpful. Even gave me tips on where to go and get my Texas DL faster. Took their advice and got my DL the next day. Was able to pick up my gun and be on my way within 15 minutes. Gotta love Texas! These guys are nuts. So over priced I had to just leave. I was looking for a buffer tube, locking nut, and the little plate that goes between the nut and the receiver. I don't have high expectations for brick and mortar stores and didn't for this one. However, this place sets the bar pretty high. After being treated like dirt at Academy for being in the military, I went down the road to this place. The store is clean, well organized, and their staff is extremely helpful. They were knowledgeable on every one of the 10 + items that I looked at and could explain what you get for the cash you are shelling out. I'm actually glad the Firearms manager at Academy in Mansfield was such a jerk. Otherwise I might not have found this gem. Buying process was simple and customer service was on point. What sold me the most about this place was the staffs knowledge. I went into this shop probably 10 times before I bought anything. The staff is always friendly and willing to let you see anything and give their opinion. I ended up buying my first handgun here for several reasons. The price was reasonable, not the cheapest but in the anticipated range. They actually had the Sig I wanted when no one else did and filling out the paperwork took 5 minutes not 35-50min that I was told at your larger gun supershops. For me saving $20 and spending an extra hour doesn't really add up to any savings. Overall it was a efficient, pleasant experience and I'll go back when I need another. read more

I started coming here after Faith Armory closed in Waxahachie it was recommended to me by a supplier of theirs. I enjoy the staff and the atmosphere here, the selection is good and service is better. And like anywhere or anything you do you get what you pay for I don't mind paying a bit more for the product when I get great service. Yes you can buy cheaper crap on line with no customer service but that defeats the purpose of the whole customer service concept. Go on line and get hands on help see how that gets you. Complete and total incompetence. Bought a SilenceCo suppressor over the internet made the mistake of sending it to a company that doesn't know what they're doing. Took 2 months to finally get the manager to take the time for the finger print and photos to be sent to the ATF. Got that completed in November 2017. One year later I'm told by the ATF no paperwork had been filed from Marksman. now I got a $1000 suppressor sitting in the manger's office for over a year, and I cannot take possession of it. I discovered Marksmen Firearms by chance when doing an online purchase of an SKS and was looking for an FFL transferer. I'm glad I did because it is one of the nicest gun stores I have ever been to and is hands down the best in the Mansfield/Arlington area. Over the phone Chris explained the process and helped me set the order up for the transfer and kept me posted on the status of the shipment. For a flat fee of $35 I had the rifle and ammo transferred to me. The shop is a new building stocked with a vast selection of both new and used firearms competively priced. The shop has a very welcoming feel due to the great merchandising and the knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Billy had my background check completed within a few minutes. Great products and great customer service; highly recommend. I will be getting my rifle cleaned here and will update this reveiw after. read more

These guys are the best!!!!!!!!! Hands down the best costumer service in the business. you can walk in a newbie or a seasoned vet and they treat you the same. I am a proud firearm owner and a competition shooter that just switched from shotguns to fun 3 gun. Chis and his staff are amazing and will answer any dumb question you can throw at them. And ladies do you get tired of every gun shop treating you like its the first gun you have ever seen let alone held, I get super upset and offended when they treat my lady like she is gun dumb or just cuz she is a woman they have a certain attitude that just get to me and there is none of that with the team they have in the Mansfeild shop. I have not been treated with more openness and a lack of judgment maybe because I have colorful tattoos idk its the first shop that it feels like family there. THE BEST THING ABOUT MARKSMAN is they will deal, haggle, do what it takes to be the best around and the reviews about them being high priced is unfair because those people do not understand that its 2018 gas is $3.00 a gallon and quality stuff has a quality price tag they don't not deal in cheap anything. if you enjoy shopping at Walmart and the dollar store then you don't even want to take up a parking spot. If you like bad ass, cool, and custom then this is your place. And call me harsh but the people that do not like Marksman probably don't know what a STI or a Dan Wesson, or a Noveske are.
