Not helpful at the service dept, condescending and patronizing; only aiming at charging fees rather than problem solving.

Good for car purchases, bad for car service. Summer 2024 I was looking for a 2024 RAV4 LE AWD, and since I live close to this dealership it was actually my first stop, but they had did not have any, actually to purchase a NEW RAV4 it would be a wait period of 6+ months. After going to all nearby car Toyota's it was the same. Thus I started looking for used RAV4s, but most were really old or had alot of mileage I ended up back here and the stars aligned for a single 2024 RAV4 being in stock, less than 10,000km btw which I was able to secure by immediately showing up and putting down a deposit. Apparently 9+ people had booked appointments to view it later that day but since I was first and was willing to pay the deposit/hold, it was mine! Within a few days after clearing things with the ownership, pink slips, insurance etc I paid the full amount and the nicely newly detailed car was mine! So as for the actual purchase, Markville did a great job. Here's where they get dinged for service. I specifically asked (purchase completed July 2024) if they had any deals for winter tires as in a few months I would need them. I was told, to just come back in a few months, find any set of tires and get a cost sheet, and Markville would match that price. Additionally, as this was a used car, there was a profile on Apple Carplay of the previous owner's iPhone setup. This is a huge issue for used Toyota owners - you cannot delete the previous user's profile and additionally you can't add/create your own profile until this is done. I saw online a very easy fix and even emailed it to the selling agent, basically only Toyota employees have access to their internal Toyota system where by inputting the VIN, they can remove the profile of the previous owner. I showed up in person, emailed, and called countless times over THREE MONTHS and no one at Markville Toyota would help with the Apple CarPlay previous owner profile situation. I couldn't even configure my new settings until this was done. This included not just the selling agent, but showing up at the front desk asking any agent for help, and the owner of Markville Toyota Jack Varisco emailing me after the purchase saying something along the lines of 'congrats on your car purchase. if you have any issues please let me know.' I even emailed him with the issue a few times and zero response. I also tried contacting the person who upsold me on additional bells/whistles, but no help there either. Then when October rolls around and I need new tires, and they're able to get more money in their pockets suddenly they can help with the carplay issue. Note - I specifically explained I was willing to buy 4 new winter tires but wouldn't spend a dime until the previous user profile was deleted. Suddenly, in less than 24 hours it was deleted. Then, as per instructed when I bought the car, I brought an invoice from a tire shop for 4 new winter tires. It as basically as follows: 4 new tires (exact brand and model as Markville toyota sold) 4 new rims (can't match as Toyota sells Toyota brand rims no other shop can sell) Installation (free if purchased from the tire shop). Despite advertisements that they price match winter tires, and the tire shop was willing to accept email and calls confirming their offer, Markville refused to price match. Fortunately, a nearby Toyota dealership was more than willing to pricematch the offer. With anyone who purchases winter tires, you know that between 50-100km after installation you should get the tires retorqued. The other Toyota dealership said I could go back to any Toyota and they'd retorque the tires for free. As Markville was the closest, I went here to get the tires retorqued (this is literally just tightening the lug nuts and takes less than 5 minutes). Markville, despite confirming I was an existing customer wanted to charge me ~$100 so I drove to the next Toyota dealership that did this for free. read more

Back in 2021 August, I went to Marvkille Toyota to purchase Toyota Prius Prime because it was closest dealership from my house. The first thing sales person asked was 'do you live in Markham? Because we only sell the vehicle to locals who would get service from us in the future'. and i told her yes, i removed to markham 2 month ago. Then she brought some upsell products. First thing was 3 years maintenance, which cost about $200 for oil change. I told her that i do not want to spend $200 for oil change, and i am licensed automotive technician, so i can do it by myself. She told me that hybrid is so complicated that i may need this, and I told her, no, because Toyota offers 96 month hybrid components warranty and 120 month battery warranty. Then she asked me to get corrosion module, which cost thousands. I told her this is 100% scam, it doesnt work. Furthermore, I asked her if Toyota has corrosion warranty included, but she said No. The only warranty Toyota has 3 years basic warranty. (which is not true. I searched and Toyota offers 5 years corrosion warranty). Then read out the detail of the contract, and there was 'Weins care', and i asked her what it is, and is it mandatory, and she said 'kinda'. I asked her to remove it, and she told me that 'can you just buy it? just consider that i gave you discount for not buying extra warranty'. lol I was speechless. When i got home, I was so mad that I was trying to be the most easy going customer. I didnt ask for the test drive, discount, accessories, but they tried to upsell their stuff. i sent an email to weins auto group customer service and the sales manager, ethan, called 2 days later. When i picked up the phone, and he said 'this is Sales manager from Markville Toyota, Ethan. Did we talk before? Did we? Did we talked in person?' and i said ' well, no. I spoke with your salesperson, Blair, and Blair went back and forth to talk with you' and he said 'Oh, ok. so we didnt talk in person. I think there was a communication misunderstanding. you know, i am the person who would upsell those service to even my grandmother. So what do you want? do you want your deposit back?' I told him to just remove the weins care stuff, and he told me to come back tomorrow. This january, i went to the dealer to rewrite for 2024 model, and the financial guy told me to get the premaintenance package. I told him i do not need it because i can do it by myself. He told me that the warranty will be void if i dont get the service from their dealership. lol Its funny how they scam their customer for the money. 16 months later, I asked her whats the estimated wait time, and she doesnt know, she does not have any info, estimate, nothing, but just wait. I told her i cant wait anymore, and i want my deposit back, and she didnt reply anymore. I went to the dealership in person, and guess what? she quit!!!! I was surprised that she quit without saying anything, and the dealer didnt mention anything about it to the people who was dealing with her. Came in last weekend and was helped by a gentleman, his name is A*** J** (please msg me for his full name). He was probably the least responsible representative at any dealership I've ever been to. He makes Markville Toyota sound like a joke. Not only did he not know about the used inventory in the place he worked in but he was convinced that the vehicle we requested to see was not there. After checking the back he exclaimed loudly saying that he didn't know what I was talking about. Wow, a nervous laughed followed along with his strange attitude. He then handed me the key to the car and said. Here look for it, and I'll come...last time I checked I DID NOT WORK HERE, HE DID. LOL, the horrible experience continues after 10 mins of waiting for him. He strides out and asked if we found the car. NOPE. I'm not playing this game. He then explains to us that the easiest way to find a car is to set off the alarm. HAHA is this a joke? Don't teach me how to find a car, it's again, not my job. So the funny thing is, halfway through the ride the man falls asleep! I turned around to asked him a question and he had his eyes closed! If this a representative of this Toyota dealership, how can we trust them with our money? We left, obviously, unhappy and disrespected. Terrible customer service - they literally ignore and forget you once they secure your payment. Purchased a new corolla and 2 days later, found out that the hubcap had a crack with no signs of scrapes or scratches. Took it back to them thinking they would replace it, but was told it was our fault and that we probably hit a curb while driving. The manager had the audacity to tell us that it would be 80 bucks to purchase a new one, ignoring the fact that not even the tires itself had any scratch marks typical of scraping a curb, and that our vehicle was 2 days old and has seen maybe 30 minutes on the road. read more

My car needed alot of repairs. The assistant service manager, Delon, advised me in order of priority and time frame what repairs needed to be done so that the car can be safely driven on the road. The car was about 9 years old with over 150,000km on it and we did not want to immediately dispose the car since it was still drivable. The team first repaired the drivers side leaking axle and then followed up to repair the brakes and shoes. They did an excellent job and it took less time than I thought it will take. I do highly recommend the highly skilled team of technicians and service advisors; they are sensitive to your concerns and they make sure your vehicle is serviced the best they can. Now I can be assured that the car can be safely driven on the highway by any member of my family. read more

Had called this location regarding a car they were selling. Asked a few questions, if it was still available, any accidents and such, I was happy with what I had heard and visited the dealership. When I arrived, I went to look at the vehicle. Wasn't as clean as it showed online, they never are though, but there was a MAJOR interior flaw that they did NOT mention in the ad or when I asked on the phone or even when I visited. They didn't mention it until I pointed it out (broken radio). Sketchy. Fast forward to the number talking, they didn't want to adjust the price for the +$1000 cost to fix the radio. The used car manager here has ZERO customer service. The worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. After hearing him talk I literally left and will never return here again. Had a great experience here recently purchasing a new Toyota Camry SE for my folks. In a male dominated industry, it was refreshing to deal with the lady in charge named Jeanette. She was very forthcoming and I was able to purchase the vehicle at a fair price with minimal BS. The salesperson George was patient and professional test driving the vehicle and answering any questions we had. The finance person named Dixon was great in getting all the paperwork in order and handling that aspect of the transaction. Stay away from these crooks and thieves. I experienced racism from them and found out they prefer to sell among themselves to make more profit and time wasters. I saw a used car on their website and called and spoke with a salesman. He told me to come and have a look. I drove a long time after work and when I got there the salesman showed me the car. I said I like it and asked for a small discount on the price bc the car was older with high Kms. Salesman went inside to speak with his managers Manfred Ko and Dickson Yiu. After a few mins salesman came out and said the car is not for sale, the price was not set yet and the manager will be selling the car to wholeseller. I asked to speak with manager. Manfred Ko who then came out and started rambling how he has not set the price yet but he said if I am willing to buy it "as is" and then he quoted a very high price of over 5K from what the salesman told me initially. I left feeling disappointed. At that point I didn't have their names and called back and spoke with Dickson Yiu who was such a bad person. Dickson was pretending not to understand English and was pretending he didn't know that I came and refused to give me his name. They made false advertisement on their website and wasted my time . I am now wondering if the 5star reviews from other Chinese are fake. Please be cautious of scams at this dealerships. read more

Then, they failed to deliver the vehicle , and they could not even provide me a VIN number. I started to ask them for my deposit since late 2018, and they refused to give my deposit back! We bought a used Toyota RAV4 from Bradley Brown back in November. Throughout the process of the actual purchase, Bradley was great. He was very friendly and happy to help and answer our questions. About 5 minutes after we drove out of the garage, we started hearing a noise in the brakes. Since then, we have had more than one problem with the car and Bradley has been rude and dismissive every single time we have had to deal with him. He had literally told us stories about their high standards and all these wonderful things just to make the sale. He has no accountability and took no ownership for deceiving us into buying the car. We had escalated this situation to Brent, the Sales manager, who was only slightly better to deal with. If you absolutely must buy a car from Markville Toyota, please make sure that you check everything beforehand and if they make any promises to you, get them in writing! Our sales associate Yibin was great to work with, was patient and took the time to explain things in both English and Mandarin (for my mother's understanding). When the car delivery date was delayed, he communicated regular updates and personally arrived at our house to drive us back to the dealership to collect the car. Great service there, but had to lower the rating for this dealership due to our experience with COCO LI who explained our extended warranty options and finalized the sales agreement. When it was evident that we would be declining her offers for extended warranties and rust protection, her attitude changed quite quickly and she became rude and was borderline yelling. I understand the requirement to upsell, but swearing in the presence of your clients is SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Due to this experience, I would think twice about returning to make another purchase there or for after sales services. Poor reflection on Markville Toyota. I don't mind working with Yibin but I would personally request another sales manager to finalize the paperwork. read more

Cause he was excited to be doing his job. If this is how they treat salesman and ones who are trying to learn and earn a living. My fiance and I wanted to buy my mother in law to be a car as a retirement gift. On Jan. 28th, the 3 of us went to Markville Toyota. We were introduced to a salesman named Siran Liu. We sat down with him and told him what my future mother in law wanted and discussed the different payment options. He gave us a price on the car. I showed him what another Toyota dealer was offering and was wondering if he could match their price and promotions. Siran started getting aggitated at this point. His tone of voice and body language completely changed. He recalculated a new price for us but this was still a lot higher than what the other Toyota dealer was offering. He asked us what price we would like and I wrote it out on paper for him. He told me that this price was not feasible because the company would not be making any money and that he would not even bother asking his manager because he knows that his manager would not approve of this. He kept asking me and my fiance "what is the problem" and we asked him multiple times if he could speak to his manager. He finally said he would speak with his manager and asked my fiance for his credit card and said if his manager was to reject our price he would automatically put through the purchase at the price he was offering. I told him no, he needs to come back and discuss with us first if his manager declines. He stormed out of the room and came back insulting us telling us that we "can't afford the car." Siran or his manager also wrote "you can't afford it" on paper for us. At this point, I was starting to get very scared because he kept raising his voice at us constantly repeating that we couldn't afford the car and that no one would do business with someone if they weren't going to make a profit. I told him that we were going to pass on the car and as the 3 of us got up from our seats he stopped us arubtly and said he needs to let his manager know that were leaving. He picked up his phone and told his manager in a very loud and angry tone that we were leaving because we couldn't afford the car. After he hung up he said to us in cantonese "word of advice guys, if you were my friends I would've yelled at you long ago" Siran is the one of the worst sales I've ever dealt with. I've never felt so disrespected by a salesman before. If he had never insulted and yelled at us we would've most likely purchased our car from him that day regardless of the price we were asking for. After we left Markville Toyota, we drove to Richmond Hill Toyota. We told the salesman about the horrible experience that we had just encountered at Markville Toyota. He was professional, informative and straight forward with our wishes. Most importantly, he did not insult or yell at us. We ended up purchasing our car that same day from him. My fiance picked up the car for my future mother in law yesterday and she is very happy with the car. Thank's to Richmond Hill Toyota for turning our negative car shopping experience into a positive one. :) Note: the manager at Markville Toyota called my future mother in law on Monday Jan 30th to ask her why we didn't end up purchasing the car from them that day. She told him the full story and he apologized to her for our negative experience with Siran. I appreciate his apology but I don't think we will ever return to Markville Toyota again. read more

My family purchased our 2nd car with this dealership (Rav4) earlier this year. (We are pretty big/loyal customers) Today my mom went into the dealership to fix a nail in her tire as she was worried and scared the team end up charging her 45 dollars + tax for the repairs and upsold her a "checkup" for an additional 55 dollars. As they told her she didn't not have an option to go to another mechanic. (Even though the spare tire was already on the car). Last week at a different mechanic just down the road fixed our other car with the similar problem of a nail stuck in the tire for just 15 dollars! The team upsold her something she didn't know or even understand. Somehow a nail in tire will end up costing you over 100 bucks, buyer beware... read more

BEWARE! Service department in all about the up-sell. They told me I needed rear brakes before they would certify my Rav4 so that I could buy out my lease. I took it to an independent garage who disagreed and certified the vehicle. Then Markville Toyota wouldn't allow me to buy out my lease because they didn't certify it. Even escalated to the general manager who really didn't care. I took it to Maple Toyota. NO PROBLEM. They processed the necessary paperwork without a hassle. there service is very unprofessional. firstly they tell you it will take a few hours but when you get there they tell you they will take up to 5pm. then they throw all these other services that are not even required at you. the person is not able to give any kind of discount if you do more services. so you do brake inspection which cost money , then to service brakes is a lot extra, then to install brake pads is costing more with labour and then changing rotars is costing more with labour. Its all in the same area why would they individually charge each service with labour service seperately when its taken all in one job. Seems like a very sticklar dealership that does not understand logic nor matches any prices of any other dealerships. i came in 830am and they phoned me that its being looked at 930am which should take 2-3hours. it was ready at 230pm after me calling so many times which was 4 hours long. Can you believe he recommended like 12 things...I could go on but this company needs new proper customer service people who know how to communicate and efficiently book appointments in a timely fashion. Markville Toyota is sleezier than other dealerships I've been to. All the sales and management people care about is ripping people off for as much dollars as they can. All the auto service people care about is getting their annual/seasonal/scheduled check up numbers.
