I've seen this place before going to my local Home Depot but never made it a point to stop by. I had the classic dog with peppers and onions, and the cheese steak. SO GOOD. Recently visited Philadelphia and wanted to see how the ICONIC Philly Cheese Steak measures up against Marky's Philly and I must say - No Competition. Among the three most Iconic Phillies in Philadelphia; you got Pat's, Geno's, and Jim's. I opted to go with Jim's because they had the higher Yelp rating. I was surprised to find that the quality and taste between Marky's and Jim's was NIGHT and DAY! Bread: Marky actually puts his bun on the grill giving a nice warm toasty texture to the bread Onions: Marky Sauté's his onions giving his Philly amazing flavor Peppers: Grilled with the meat and onions to optimize flavor, Jim's gave no option on the grilled peppers Cheese: Cheese wiz was overrated, tasted like those whiz cans you can buy in the grocery store. Marky melts the American cheese right onto the meat as it cooks. Presentation: Jim's Philly came out soggy and wet, Marky's maintains the nice toasty bun while holding all of those delicious ingredients. The only thing that was on par was the meat: both places used pretty quality steak meat. Literally everything else, Marky's crushed Jim's 'ICONIC' Philly. Caught a glimpse of this eatery located in the parking lot of a Home Depot when I needed to shop there. After curiously Googling about it and notice it has an overall 5-star rating, I've been intrigued. Finally got to check it out today when I happened to be nearby and starving. It's run by couple guys named Marky and Ryan. Very outgoing, interpersonal, and friendly. They each even took a moment to exchange intros with me and chit chat a bit. Pretty warm souls. For moderate prices, the cheesesteak and fries combo I had were quite filling and deliciously messy. I'm a big eater too. Can't wait to try out their burgers next time. Was looking for food trucks in the area while on my lunch break since I feel they usually have the best street food. I'm really glad my co-worker and I stumbled upon Marky's. The food truck was parked at The Home Depot parking lot, which was a little random but who cares, as long as the food is good I'm ok eating wherever. I'm not sure if the guy working was Marky but he was really friendly and had a great personality.The young lady working was also friendly. They have a cute setup right in front with a couple of tables and chairs. They also had a really big fan which is very much needed during the summer, so I appreciated that. The food was really good. I had the meat lovers hot dog with fries and my co-worker had the Philly cheesesteak. The fries were really hot and crispy, which we love. We both enjoyed our food and the prices were reasonable. Many years ago, when I first started working as a teenager, one of my first mentors (a small business owner) taught me, the key to a successful business: pay attention to the small things. I came to get my car washed, and saw Markys food truck, except this was nothing like any food truck I've seen before (I work in DC, and often food trucks there for lunch). Markys has outdoor seating, with a tent. Napkin holders, ketchup/mustard bottles at each table. Two fans pointed at customers. A trash bucket that's not overfilled. Some lo-fi music playing and then the man himself: Marky. Looks you in the eyes, says and means thank you, and says make yourself at home to all strangers coming for a quick bite. So why the five stars? Could you get a better burger elsewhere? Yes. Could you get a burger somewhere faster? Probably. But for the 10-15 mins I sat under that tent, ate my meal, interacted with Marky - I forgot it was Monday. I was just a kid eating a burger in my neighborhood at my uncle Markys joint. Shoot! I forgot to take a photo!! I've seen this little truck out in the Home Depot parking lot for years, always said I'd try it next time . . . . So this time I was hungry and played a little game of "yelp roulette" Marky's was the first entry under "restaurants near me" I scanned some reviews and was convinced that today would be the day. I ordered a chili cheeseburger combo online and headed out the door. There were a few people waiting for their food, and my order was up quickly. Marky asked if I wanted bacon, and when I declined, he was like "i could put bacon on it." When I said "i paid online" he responded, Ok, if you did or you didn't this is your home!" If you can't tell, I really appreciated his friendly and joyful personality. I got that little box in my car and the aroma reminded me of my hometown hamburger stands. (chili cheese burgers are more of an LA thing than a DMV thing) By the time I got home with that thing it was INHALED before I could think to write a review. This is a gem, located in the parking lot of a Home Depot. I know what you're thinking, just go with me. Browsing through Yelp for some food, I came across Markys Munchery. Soooo, they had great reviews, great price and was 1 light up the street from me, I was sold. Now first thing I'm thinking as I pull in is "now where is this place because I've been here countless times and have never seen a food spot" I find it to the far right in the parking lot near the car wash. I'm greeted by a man with a big personality (later find out he's Marky). Clearly he's still setting up but he offers me a drink as I sit and we just organically talk about any and everything! Very very nice guy, super funny and you can tell he loves what he does. He stated several times "I put love in my food" 2 truck drivers wondered up and placed an order and we just fell into a great convo. I got the burger and my 2 friends got bacon wrapped hotdogs. My intentions where to take my food to go, but after my friends decided to sit for lunch i figured why not? I was off, hanging out and chillin, I had no where to be! Besides these gentleman where great company! That burger was absolutely Amazing!!! Crazy good!!!! No grease!!!!!! Bacon cheeseburger, caramelized green peppers and onions, grilled jalapeños! FRIED EGG! Sooo juicy and fresh! My friends demolished their hot dogs in record time so I think it's safe to say they thoroughly enjoyed themselves! I paid for my food and still ended up hanging out for another 20 minutes or so just chatting with the owner! It was refreshing to have great food from someone with a passion for his craft! Lastly I asked for change for a 10 and he insisted that he did not want a tip! He said "it's not about the money I just want to cook good food" *tears* I gave him the extra 5 and told him I paid for the customer service and company!! Fast forward few hours later, after ranting and raving in the car with my mom, she's sold! We pull up, this time I was greeted as family! He was wonderful to my mom! She sat down and was listening to the jazz he had playing and just vibed out! My mom had the same reaction to the burger that I did!! Lol I got the cheesesteak and it was equally as good! Who da thunk we would enjoy a "little pick me up" bite to eat so much. Stopped at HD for stuff around noon, decided to grab a bite and what a bite! The Dirty Dog was so delish with caramelized onions and BBQ beans & bacon and hunks of pork. My. Word. I wanted to lick the paper bowl when no one was looking. My husband got the Smashed burger, downed that baby in a quick hurry. Declined the fries (this time) but hear they're great. Got to talk some deep convo with Marky's himself. For a food truck the atmosphere is great. Plenty of fans blowing to keep you cool. Markys attitude is great. I like his accent and his can do positive attitude. For a $5.50 bacon wrapped hot dog of any sort on his menu is delicious. Personal favorite is the jalapeno. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Came here on Memorial Day weekend after stopping by Home Depot in Annandale. Had the Marky's Cheesesteak and the beef dog. Need to find out who Marky's beef dogs supplier and steal his recipe is b/c THEY ARE AMAZING! Food was legit great. Cheesesteak portion was large and it was delicious... and my wife went crazy when she tried the crinkle cut fries-- they were tasty. Markey was incredibly friendly and kind... it was 92 degrees outside and he offered me a free second bottle of water so I didn't dehydrate. Noticed other little things that clearly communicated that he cares about his customers. Great food, great service, great guy, magic experience!
