Actually talking to the veterinarian. Not the front desk or assistant with my medical ? I was very stressed out and hadn't really slept for a week. I adopted a rabbit..found a few flees not many. She was pregnant surprise!!! Anyhow babies looked great then about six weeks I noticed severe itching hair loss. At night after cleaning their enclosures I began to itch like crazy. Like something from a Syfy movie. I began to read everything I could about rabbits and zoonume decrease that humans could get. WOW I was surprised!!! I figured I probably had walking dander mites. They showed all the signs. It was horrible for me not to scratch for the secondary infections is the worse. Now I truly know what it's like for animals to have fleas or mites!! Long story short..brought one baby and the mother. Mother was supposably treated with revaluation and baby wasn't. Skin scrape came up negative. Often their is a falls negative if eggs haven't hatched again!! They treated me as if I were nuts. Not listening to me at all. Financial I couldn't afford all the rabbits and stayed I need a weight on the baby and the mother so I could treat them myself..more cost affective and I've done research hrs of feeding a speeking to rabbit savy people and I. Line vets. I never got the weights kinda brushed that off.. I was disgusted tired and well believe me...this takes the cake folks,,!!! Ready for this one??? LMAO...I had to I just had to ask the veteraria assistant..or ofgice manager cuz ..the introduction was so bad...I really had no clue who was who...so hear we got...so I qas reafing tabbits can get mite from hay. She stated those type of mites go away!!!! Hello peeps..no they don't...my angora rabbits are a mess!!! $$$$ later WOW!!! Mites go away from hay, LMFAO,...I WOULSNYY RECOMEND THEM AT ALL. RUDE MADE ME FEEL LIKE WHAT ARE TOU DOING HERE FOLK'S.. ANIMALS..THEIR FAMILY TALK TO ME EARN THAT TRUST ANSWER MY ? MY CONCERNS!!!. bunny's are on the mend now thanks to them. I was really happy with this vet, until he refused to help me with my cat, Gizmo, he found a tumor on his tongue and now Gizmo refuses to eat and the doctor refuses to put him down, even at my request. He gave me pain medication and a food supplement to put in his ear, that worked for a couple of days. But, now Gizmo is not eating at all. This vet just wants me to spend more money to find out in the long run that eventually, that Gizmo will need to be put down after him suffering more than he had to. I opened two cans of food tonight, to make Gizmo try to eat and he didn't touch either kind. I don't know what to do. I can't afford to take him for a second opinion after this vet charged me a $189.00, to not really help my cat, Gimzo. I have called his office and explained to him and even sent a video of Gimzo having trouble eating, but that still wasn't enough to the vet to feel that it was time to put Gimzo down. I wouldn't just put my cat down that I had for 7 years if I didn't think it was necessary or if he wasn't suffering. I love my cat. I would never want to put my cat down, just because. I don't want my cat to be suffering, and not being able to eat is a thing, I think is a suffering thing. read more

worst vet i'd everbeen to. some years ago (late 2018) i brought my previous ferret to him when he wasn't acting right and he said he was fine , then he died suddenly 2 months later . this time i brought my little guy to be put down since he was old and clearly ready to let go ( we'd been noticing the signs for a couple months but didn't want to do it too soon) only for them to basicly refuse to cause they 'didn't know ' what was wrong with him when they couldn't get a blood sample due to collapsed veins from dehydration and his heart rate was 60 when according to him it should've been around 200 ,.. i've known for a while it was nearing his time but they only kept him with an iv overnight and sent him home to suffer with steroids . i had to bring him elsewhere a little while ago cause my poor baby was suffering and couldn't walk/stand and wouldn't eat or drink and the other ferrets refused to go near him. they just wanted money there they didn't care about helping him , they wanted an extra 180 for xrays on top of the 145 i paid when all i wanted was to let my little boy not suffer anymore. read more

I am new to the area and so happy to have found Marlborough Veterinary Clinic. Dr. DeSena is a wonderful veterinarian. He is very knowledgeable and caring. He takes the time to listen to my concerns about my dogs and thoroughly explains everything I need to know to keep them healthy. In my most recent visit I brought in a very, very nervous chihuahua whom I had adopted the previous week. Dr. DeSena and his assistant were so gentle and mindful of his anxiety. After the examination was finished, Dr. DeSena said he wanted to get to know little Eugene and he scooped him up and cradled him in his arms, talking to him and giving him a treat. That to me is a sign of a vet who really cares about his patients. Everyone on Dr. Desena's staff is so friendly and helpful. It is such a relief to know that I have excellent veterinary care for my dogs. read more

Called all the clinics in a 20 mile radius as my cat was in distress. This is the only clinic that could see him before October. He had a UTI. was seen, kept for 2 nights. Well on the way to recovery. Can't say enough good things. The fees charged were very reasonable. read more

This is a great vet! I was recommended to go here from a friend who had a tropical tree frog. He told me that this vet was great for all sorts of reptiles, in addition to the usual cats and dogs, and he was right! We just took our baby leopard tortoise there a few days ago for the first time, and they were very helpful and nice! The vet seemed to know a lot about leopard tortoises and tortoises in general, and you can tell that he treats reptiles a lot because of all of the reptile products (reptile vitamins and such) that he carries. He was very thorough with his examination. I would recommend the Marlborough Veterinary Clinic to anyone, especially to local reptile owners! read more

We paid a premium price to have a local vet for 18 years for our cats. Unfortunately, as my elderly cat had a stroke this week and a rapid decline, we were told there was no time for us to fit in an euthanasia appointment for him. We were told to wait for an opening in three days or go elsewhere. Availability is horrible and prices are very high. We are looking for a new vet and would never recommend this clinic. In the area for just a short time & most vets here won't see you for weeks if you're not going to become a possible permanent client. We desperately needed to get our 2 dogs vaccinated for Lyme disease. This great little clinic opened up a spot in their busy schedule & also made time to review our pet's records & check them over well before the vaccinations. I'd give less than one star, if it were an option. "Dr." DeSena should have chosen a different career path. The "reception' area is dark, just like DeSena's demeanor. I once took a cat who was having breathing issues to him. He did Xrays and said the cat would be dead in a few months (cancer) and nothing could be done. I took the same cat to another vet, along with the Xrays taken by DeSena. The 2nd vet commented that the Xrays were of extremely poor quality and must have been done either incorrectly or on a very ancient machine. Anyhow, diagnosis was still cancer, although not as progressed as DeSena stated, and the cat lived 4 another 4 years (thanks to 2nd vet's thoroughness and competence). We had taken other animals on occasion to him since he is nearby but DeSena's personality is less than ideal for someone in the medical profession. He shows no emotion or care with the either the animal patient or their human parents. His 'office hours' are random. I had stopped by once to buy pet food 1/2 hour before their closing time only to find they had already closed. I've had appointments first thing in the morning when no one had showed up to work yet. DeSena himself seems to only work a few hours a day and I was told many times when trying to make appointments that 'the doctor won't be in at that time" or "in that day". Needless to say, we've found another vet. read more

A great place to take your pet! The staff are so helpful and extremely friendly. You walk in and see a smile. I took my very sick kitty there, had some testing done and she was diagnosed with cancer. The vet called me every few days to check on her. He has been so very helpful and nice, he is exactly what we look for in a veterinarian. I will be taking all my pets to him, both the fury ones and the scaley. I recommend this vet clinic to everyone! read more

my rabbit just died from neglect:I had her put to sleep on Thursday Oct 4.I could never get a documented diagnosis.Prior to this emergency,and within the past rtwo years I attempted to establish a relationship withThe Marlboro Clinic.I attempted to locate an experienced exotics Veterinarian:I spoke with the secretary as well as the office manager at length ,first in attempt to establish a relationship with the Vet; recently to have my Ruby seen in an emergency.My emergency began early in the morning of the 2nd. I brought my rabbit to A Veterinary Hospital closest to me.She was seen and released.Later that day I telephoned Dr.Massenas office to discuss payment arrangements..as I may have required payments to be ongoing.The agreement was helpful. At 3:30 my rabbit was falling about the floor in a frightening look of seriousness.I put her in the carrier picked up my checkbook and called the Marlboro Clinic.I was tersely informed that If I got in the car and brought Ruby in right then she would not be seen...I was told I should have done it in the morning.I was disgusted with it, They said they did not have walk in services,even in a critical emergency,(while your office is still open?) Today is October 9, after the long weekend. My rabbit is in Heaven. I now want to know why they did not allow me to bring my critically ill 5,4 year old rabbit in for treatment,at the time we could and needed to be seen? I telephoned them to take them to task with regards to their part in my pets untimely demise.They hung up on me twice..I am angry at the Vet..whom I have neither met nor spoken with.They assuredly followed his orders. He told them that he would not speak to me -at all ,not now ,or in the past,. as I am not his client. I was rather asked to pay on the telephone for the appt. while scheduling the appointment.That was offputting. The whole money first attitude can not be the essence of any Veterinary Practise;and should not be as such with any healing facility in the services of either pet or person. Shame on you Dr. Massena! For the record my rabbit had far less available choices than I would have, due to the limited existing practices which tout themselves as knowledgable rabbit vets.It is horrible that we could not have worked this out-for the love of god and Ruby.
