Dr Winn and staff are absolutely wonderful! My 100lb, 10 1/2yo boy took an overnight turn out of nowhere. Not only did Dr Winn stop testing after 10 of the 40 minutes she originally anticipated but sincerely heard me when I told her anything beyond an antibiotic would be selfish on my part. She was completely empathetic and helpful with my decision- making. The staff was amazing from the second we stepped into the office and the sympathy card signed by Dr Winn and Jessica was heartfelt and very much appreciated!

    My honest review 3

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I never do reviews on places even if I had terrible service, but how the staff treated and tried to manipulate my neighbor goes against everything I believe in of being a decent human being so I had to write this. My elderly 80 year old neighbor and her 8 pound poodle were attacked by a massive pitbull where the poodle's head was completely inside the pitbull's mouth. I was able to get the pitbull off and rescue the poodle. The poodle was covered in blood and one eye was bulging out. At this point, the poodle wouldn't let anyone else touch him, not even the owner, so I went with the owner to the hospital. At check in, my neighbor finds out her dog insurance isn't covered by this hospital. After assessing the dog, the vet came out told us what was needed and sounded 100% reasonable. 10 minutes later, the vet techs come out giving us an estimated itemized bill as the owners of the pitbull said they were going to pay which came out to $4600 roughly, but they said we only need $2400 which is an insanely expensive amount to be expected to pay for anyone when an unexpected event takes place. They stated, "This is just a guess estimate just in case Max [neighbor's dog] has to stay and be hospitalized." My neighbor then called the property manager as this happened in our apartment complex so they may work something out with the owners of the pitbull. 1 hour goes by and the vet techs come back and said, "So are you comfortable with this amount so we may proceed?" I almost dropped to the floor. I said, "Are you telling me you have not done the X-ray and get blood work yet?!?" They said, "No we were giving you guys time to decide what you wanted to get done and giving you guys time to decide if you would be able to pay $2400." I said, "You got to be kidding me, you really worried about that when there is a dog in there with an eye bulging out covered in blood that could possible have a crushed skull and a brain bleed?!? Like we said before, the amount is ridiculous we are waiting to hear back from property managers as the pitbull owners are responsible. So yes let's start the procedures and worry about how you guys will get paid later because trust me you will get paid, but not by this elderly woman." Property manager calls back asking for more details as the vet staff refuses to talk to her about anything. So we go out and hand the phone over to what I believe was the office manager as now my neighbor and myself are confused about what the issue is. The office manager walks away with my neighbors phone and after 1 minute yells, "I'M HANGING UP NOW!" Hands my neighbor the phone and states, "I'm not talking to that woman anymore she was rude." Now I've lived at my apartment complex for over 5 years so I know the property manager pretty well and she has never been rude and always been understanding. She always tries her best to help. I'm not done explaining because what I have to say is more than the text amount allowed so I'll be leaving photos of the rest of the encounter. I tried to put them in order, but yelp app is a little tricky.

Quoted 1-1.5 hour wait. How long it's been and still going
    Skoobasteve R.

I understand the pandemic but my estimated wait time of 1 to1.5 hours was double just to get my dog in, not the entire stay. I'm not sure why they don't implement a call ahead policy. You need to call when you are in the parking lot. There are 6 cars outside in 32 degree weather all idling for hours on end. While they are saving pets, they are killing the climate. Seriously guys, everyone who comes here lives with 30 minutes and would rather wait at home and show up with a 30 minute or less wait. Nice new building requires a new system. Maybe you call us when it looks like we are 30 minutes from being next in line. We drive over and wait. With that said, the service is eventually solid. Would I bring my dog again...only after calling a different place.

From the moment we called ahead to say we were on our way, the staff were incredibly responsive and ready for us when we arrived. They quickly assessed the situation, diagnosed the issue, and carried out the necessary procedures. The clinic itself was very clean, welcoming, and well equipped. Dr. Estes explained everything clearly--what was happening, the prognosis, and what we should do next. The techs / nurses--Kim Nguyen, Kendra Baker, and Jennifer Ducharme--were also wonderful: professional, patient, and very caring. They were attentive throughout the entire process while our Pomeranian was undergoing sedation, and you could tell they genuinely cared. I'm sure they see situations like this every day, but they still treated our dog with the attention and care he needed. Small things like that matter. These are clearly very capable people who could work in many different fields--including human medicine--but they choose to care for pets, and it shows. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and would return again if needed. My one tip: call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.

Open space concept for procedures & surgery (!!) so you can be as involved as you want, with a small private room for me & the cat where much of her treatment and waiting happened. That reduced stress on her and we were never separated which I so appreciate. Her surgeon came up with plans A - C from least to most invasive . A failed, we moved on to B which worked beautifully so we avoided C = major surgery. I recommend VEG without reservation.

My friend called ahead to them know that my cat was near the end and that I wanted her euthanized. We were told that they would place us in a room (NOT a treatment room) When I arrived, they took her to the treatment area instead of into a room and I was super confused. They freaked when they saw her...it was like one of those frantic scenes on those medical dramas when multiple people run to the gurney. My friend was like "hello, she is here to be euthanized and they apologized. They sat me in a cold exam room and they brought my sweet Tatiana to me wrapped in a towel. The second they placed her in my arms, pinkish liquid started coming our of her nose and mouth. I freaked out an fortunately my friend, who is a hospice nurse, was with me and held as the trainee fumbled around with trying to find a vein for the final shot. Her veins had collapsed so my literally had to tell her where to place the needle. All of a sudden I heard this gushing sound and screamed "what was that??" Fortunately my friend warned me not to look. There was so much liquid released that she had to borrow scrubs and her sweater was ruined. It was absolutely traumatizing. When I left the treatment area they asked me if I wanted to take home the carrier. I don't know exactly what I said but it wasn't nice. Nobody told me what the hell was going on. I had been there only 4 weeks earlier and was simply told "you have a very sick kitty." And then, when I trusted them to help us through her final moments, they failed. I called a few days letter and cried as I explained what happened. The woman (manager?) was not very empathetic and made excuses for what happened but at least she refunded me the cost. I wish that I had the positive experience that others who have reviewed this had. The image of her sick, skinny little body wrapped in a towel with that stuff coming out of her nose and mouth is forever etched in my brain. I am working hard to replace that memory with a happy one but it is really hard. This should never happen to any pet mom again.

He saved my life many times over, I adopted him when I was still active duty in the Marine Corps. The last few months were tough, I'd equate it to hospice for a dog. I dreaded making the decision, and I came close at least 6 times but every time I said give it one more day he would bounce back, go for a walk, do his business, eat, drink, ask for treats. This morning I woke up and I felt something was different. He wasn't moving well, he didn't finish his food, and then his head was stuck turning to the left at almost a 90 degree angle and he fell on the floor like that. I picked him up and laid him down on his other side on my lap hoping he just had a bad cramp, but after an hour I tried putting him down in front of his water and he collapsed. I held him for another 30 minutes and then he had an intense seizure for at least a minute, his whole body was tensed and stretched out, and his mouth was wide open gasping for air. He came through the seizure but he had no strength in any of his legs - even at his worst in the months prior when he bounced back he could at least support himself on his front legs, but he had no strength and his breaths were long and slow. I dreaded making this decision, but I couldn't allow him to suffer. I called a few vets in the area and no one could take us. One of the last vets I called recommended I reach out to VEG. I called them, they said they could help. I walked in and was immediately brought into a private room with my dog. The receptionist, the nurses, and the doctor were so comforting during one of the hardest times of my life. I'm going to bed tonight without my best friend for the first time in 16 years, but the compassion that the staff shared with me knowing it had to happen was above and beyond. I don't know if I'll ever have another dog, but if I do this would be my go to veterinarian for any issues. And I hope no one has to make the decision for your animal, but if you do, I give the VEG staff the highest recommendation I possibly could. Thank you and your team for your compassion on one of the worst days of my life. God bless you all.

I am VERY disappointed in vet services given at a cost of $1375 for one visit…read more My pet had stopped eating and drinking, and was becoming weak over a course of approx 24hrs, which required the vet visit. (My vet office was booked) I understand the initial visit is $300- as it is an Emergency small animal clinic, and my pet needed X-rays, bloodwork, a fluid pack, and nausea meds to stabilize him. FINE. All that made sense. -But I was told during the visit, that a first dose of antibiotics would also be given In HOUSE before he left- which wasn't, and I was not sent home with anti nausea meds to alleviate his vomiting issue prior to taking his antibiotics either! He threw up everything I gave him, wasted multiple doses of antibiotics, still not eating or drinking due to nausea. Called them the next day, only to be told if I drove there, they would give me some probiotics for free. Probiotics? I agreed, but said I'd need some anti nausea meds too, so my pet would actually be able to ingest the meds and not purge them back up again. So, It turned out I was not able to go pick meds up myself, but found someone who could. They get all the way down there(mind you this is a 2hr round trip commute), and they told the pick up person, that they were not prescribing anti nausea meds for my pet! That they wanted to continue with the protocol of antibiotics and probiotics! Seriously?! How am I supposed to have him keep the meds down? Not only that, but the probiotics they gave me, have to be mixed in with his water or food (which he REFUSES TO DRINK or EAT, BECAUSE IT MAKES HIM VOMIT!!!!!!!). Common sense doesn't live at this place I guess. Or- it seems, they just wanted him weaker, so I would feel the need to bring him back in for MORE Bloodwork and X-rays!! Because by then.. he could REALLY be in trouble! $ **** . ** RIDICULOUS! As far as I am concerned at those point, This place is only good for one thing, "Emergency Euthanasia"! [EDIT]- No thanks to SAVES, my pet is FINALLY starting to take water and broth without vomiting! I had to find an alternative anti-nausea medicine on my own, because they wouldn't give me a script for it, Otherwise my pet would have starved to death due to an unknown type of infection, because he couldn't keep the antibiotics down!!!! Highly Dissatisfied! Would NOT RECOMMEND this place- unless your vet office is closed, and you need to have your pet euthanized!! -and their examining rooms seem to not be cleaned after every visit!! Hair all over the floors! HONEST OPINION!
