This is such a town must try spot!! This type is located in the middle of Avalon, where everyone goes to shop and eat. They are the only place that is poppin off on the weekdays at night!! we talked to a lot of regular cycle there and we even saw noodles the dog :) Very happy that they have such great vibes and everyone talks to each other other!!! If you're ever in Avalon, this is a spot ;) P.s. The drinks are super affordable here.

Great bar to stay for a visit if you wants nice, bold drinks. Decor is the style of the 40's that will appeal to fans of everything retro. The actual bar was build by Merchant Marines in WW2 and it is still on fantastic shape. Take time to see this bar!

Great little place. Excellent service. It's a Avalon Catalina staple. I think it's been there since the 40s. was there about 20 years ago. Always a fun place was there this past month March on a royal Caribbean cruise and stopped and met a really cool guy named Paul on March 5, 2026 from Arizona. Never got his info and I wanted to share the photos. Paul, if you see this. hit me up on Facebook Billy Mac Las Vegas.

Stopped in while hopping off the carnival cruise and had to take my brother to the Marlin club for a Catalina specialty! The Buffalo milk! An island specialty named after the free roaming mammal you wouldn't expect on the island. The Marlin club is the go to spot for this local drink in the local establishment quaint space that just screams good vibes and good energy where strangers become friends and everyone shares a laugh and a smile!

In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you.... If you understand you understand. My favorite spot when I'm on island. Better like a dive

Staff seemed to give us the side eye while being jovial with others; not sure what prejudice they had against us. Normally I can forgo blank stares, but I expect a little more when I'm in a tourist area. - Wiki Wacker Both tropical fruity and alcoholic at the same time. You get a hat or sticker with it, and we weren't asked which one we preferred. The strength is similar to a long island, due to the mix of rum and brandy. Decent blend that had a pretty light to deep orange gradient, and an extra pineapple slice. We had fun with the straw hat, so it's fine that fate declared we receive this souvenir. - Buffalo Milk I preferred this drink over the Wiki Wacker, but I can see some people not being into it. It tastes like a creamy nothing. I liked it because the flavor was very, very subtle; it was like an icy, subtly creamy, subtly banana, subtly bitter smoothie topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. Nothing about it has buffalo in it. I would get this again. To sum it up, theming is nice and drinks are aesthetic, yummy, and effective. I love the wide open windows for the natural light and breeze drifting in, and if you're seated near the front, you can people watch.

Her service was spot on. The Cons The side salad was nothing special and I thought a bit over priced at $10. Now on to the lobster "roll." We fully expected to pay more due to the fact that this a touristy place and is on an island. For $34, what we got was a whole lot of disappointment. First of all, the portion you get is nothing close to what a usual lobster roll should look like. The Taragon sauce they sauce they put on it overpowers the lobster. The worst part is the quality of the lobster meat they use. When asked where the lobster comes from, I was promptly told Maine. We live on the east coast and are from the northeast. When I pressed the waitress, she admitted they use knuckle meat not the tail or whole claw. Still not buying it. In both my husband's and my roll there were langostino tails mixed in. When I flat out asked our server, she nodded. That is a huge misrepresentation of the food they're serving and certainly no one would pay $34 for that substitution.

So the clientele is, shall we say, exclusive, to say the least! I ordered the 3-piece fried chicken dinner for $4.50. Add fries with that for two more bucks, and you will dine happy for all of $6.50. My order consisted of a drumstick, thigh, and breast/wing combo. The chicken was lightly batter-dipped and the oil tasted fresh. It arrived pipping hot, but the meat was tender and moist. PERFECT!. I was stuffed! Before the chicken arrived, I asked the barkeep if the Guinness was fresh. She smirked, paused for a seemingly long time, and then said that it wasn't old beer. I guess I offended her a little - my bad! Of course she was right; the Guinness went down smooth and refreshing with the fried chicken. At $5.50, the beer was more expensive than the chicken. But a robust meal after a long day of hiking for only $12.00 - no complaints from me. My companion ordered a Chicken Caesar salad for $5.95. No cheese (his request) and somewhat light on the chicken. He said he wished he could have had some crab in the salad, but then it wouldn't have been a Chicken Caesar Salad, would it? In summary, I greatly enjoyed the food at the Salty Crab. Anybody see a yelp event here? I'm definitely in!
