We decided to eat at The Quay restaurant. The food was good but the biggest problem is parking. They share a parking lot with Gulf Stream Cafe. On the 28th when we went, the dining room was closed. We asked the bartender why, and he did not know when it was going to open or why it was closed. Everyone ended up on the fourth (elevator) floor outdoor bar area. I'm sorry - crammed onto the fourth floor. I thought sure I was sitting on the guy's lap next to me (not my husband). He was crammed in by a lady.(not me). We decided to share the coconut shrimp which was delicious. Afterwards I got the cheeseburger without lettuce. He got the shrimp tacos. Our food was good. After eating, we got hot and decided to pay our bill and leave. The kitchen must have been overwhelmed because it took a long time to get our food. We both decided that we would not be going back there because of the parking. read more

Delicious! I don't have pictures because we were starving and it looked so good we dove in before I remembered, oops! Lovely views right on the marina in Garden City. Nice to have a meal where you didn't have to fight the traffic in Hwy 17. I had coconut shrimp appetizer as a meal, it's my favorite thing. It had a lovely raspberry sauce which was a nice difference from the typical chutney. Side of sweet potato fries bc another favorite and it is vacation. Husband had Mahi Mahi tacos that I had to stop him from licking the plate. He was very pleased! My daughter had a crab cake sandwich which also looked yummy and she enjoyed. My in-laws recommended The Quay, so we decided to try it while we were in town. We sat on the top floor and the view was incredible. The music playing over the speakers was a little too loud, but overall, it had a good vibe. Our server was excellent - Very attentive and provided recommendations. The food was great. Everything was flavorful and the waffle fries had a perfect crisp to them. The only negative was the iced tea. It tasted so bad, I drank water instead. It's a lovely view of the marsh, but if you're at all afraid of heights, go somewhere else: it's very open and unstable-feeling. They're doing the best they can to fight the heat and humidity, but it just wasn't comfortable. Service was reasonably attentive without hovering. Food was fine: tuna was seared beautifully, but the rest of the taco was mid (dry tortilla, no veggies, just tuna and garnish). For atmosphere, the music was a comfortable yacht rock station, audible but not drowning anyone out. A note about parking: they share a free lot with the neighboring restaurant. This was OK at lunch (when only one is open) but is a zoo at dinnertime. If you're even vaguely close by, I recommend walking/biking/boating?/anything but driving here read more

We had friends from California come out to visit & we had setup a boat tour for the Murrells Inlet Marina & Dolphin Cruise. The Boat Trip was a little over 2 hrs. Price was very reasonable & Captain Mike was Great. He gave us a little history on the Marina & about Dolphins. Courtney who we made the reservation with was Grest! She was able to come with us on the trip. Courtney made the trip, easy peesy She offered various offerings like charcuterie board, drinks (they cannot do alcohol), icebox, etc. They were very accommodating. We had seen around 10 dolphins. Of which was 2 schools of 4 dolphins each, plus 2 dolphins by themselves. Do wear a hat, bring sunscreen, plus we had brought water. We went to the Quay Seafood Grille at Marlin Quay Marina 11/16/2024 and it was great!! I got the Mahi tacos which were sooooooo good. The fish was flakey and tasted great! and don't get me started on the view, you can see both the ocean and the marsh from our table on the rooftop dining part. Also, the service was outstanding and fast. If you are a member of Marlin Quay Marina you can dock and dine which is convienent. Nice view but watch out for the open banister, lol, immediate anxiety for the clumsy. Didn't get a kid friendly vibe from this place. Tasty sandwiches but boy were some of them very messy to eat! Flounder was STACKED but lacking seasoning for our preference and the Tartar sauce was too runny, this sandwich literally went everywhere. Fries were a non traditional crinkle that we really enjoyed. Chicken BLT was good, crab cake sandwich was tasty, special was another messy situation, tenders were crispy, sweet potato fries were very soft... And we housed it all! We went to Quay for a late lunch and what a great find! Our server, Sydney, was so sweet and personable. Neither of us ordered a lunch but we split 3 appetizers. My husband tried a few of their speciality cocktails and gave them all a thumbs up. We ate on their rooftop bar/grill and you couldn't beat the view. Marsh on one side and ocean on the other. The food was okay. Wasn't great. Some of the things on the menu are ambiguous to what they are. I ordered Filet over Noodles and it said they would have veggies with teriyaki over them. You must go to this restaurant. Great food, great waitstaff and fabulous view. Our waiter, Charlie, was knowledgeable, personable, flexible, and a lot of fun. You'll be fortunate if you get him as your waiter! Rob, the Floor Manager and Avery, another of the waitstaff were also very friendly and right there if you needed them. This is a great little place on the opposite (ocean) side of Murrells Inlet. Dinner here is magical, as you get a great view of the sunset as well as the inlet! The menu of course has wonderful seafood, all very fresh, but also a great selection of other food as well. Service is great but staff is limited (thus the 4 out of 5) so don't go in a hurry. What a great place to get food, and have a beautiful view for dinner! The food was absolutely amazing. The coconut shrimp were perfect, and the raspberry goat cheese sauce was delicious. My friend and I split the Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp and there was a plentiful amount of meat. My drink was OK, but my friend got the spicy watermelon jalapeño margarita and was great. They did not have salads on the menu, hopefully they will add some salad options in the future. The seating is limited so where we sat was very warm in the sun but I t was beautiful once the sun went down. Will definitely be going back. read more

Very nice small marina on south Waccamaw Dr. A mile from our condo just off the inlet of Murrells Inlet. Today a local shrimp boat was selling head on jumbo shrimp for $40 for 5 pounds. Run.. don't walk to this fabulous restaurant. We were slightly confused in the parking lot- make sure you"re going to the Quay on the right facing the water and not the Gulf Stream Cafe on the left. My 4 siblings and I had.a wonderful experienceat The Quay. The minute we came off the elevator we were warmly greeted and seated by the manager Rob. The view out all the windows of Murrells Inlet is incredible so there was no bad table. Though the sunset was a bust tonight I'm sure it's spectacular otherwise. .Charlie our waiter and bartender was friendly, funny and recommended the most amazing tuna nachos for a starter. Coconut shrimp, She--crab soup and the salmon are swoon worthy. Avery was quite possibly the happiest food deliverer/table clearer I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The music overhead was at a conversational level and they were playing our era music so we found ourselves singing along... discreetly. Food was not what I expected. Not even one salad on the menu. Lots of fried food. They serve TAP water -first restaurant I have seen do this. The waiter brought me a $4 bottle from downstairs. Food is very pricey too! I did like their pico de gallo -tiny little one inch cup was given with the meal so I asked for more and they charged me a dollar. You can't make this up! Service was good except my credit card number was stolen. I complained to the owner via email and not only am I getting non-stop junk mail but he said he was going to sue ME! Worst Service Ever!!! Young Madison was disrespectful. Waited 15 minutes just to talk to anyone. Then waited over 30 minutes at the bar for 4 drinks. Madison served everyone except us. Then asking for food she refused and insisted I go to the bar for another 30 minutes to wait for food. Will Never Be Back. Was horrible. Young 20 something blond named Madison. Horrible. Don't go.
