I love Marlows. But this trip in to the Market wasnt the best. The meat was dry. So dry. It was like eating cardboard. There was hardly any wiz. You couldnt taste any seasonings or the onions and mushrooms. There was oddly "too much" meat for my liking. Add it was dry. Bun was fresh. Fries were cooked perfect but they had way too much wiz. Just a huge fail. Hate to have to write this as the owners are so nice. But it just wasnt the usual cheese steak or fry experience you get from Marlows.

Marlow's Cheesesteaks now has a location inside of Budd Dairy Food Hall, located near where you first enter if you come in the main entrance with the desk, and we were glad to check it out. The cheesesteaks were massive - good to share or to save some for a later meal. We opted for the Marlow's Way (steak, cheese whiz, provolone, onions, mushrooms, peppers, mayo, and spicy mustard) - giant, messy, tasty, with a kick from the spicy mustard and peppers. The fries were great - good taste and texture, also a plentiful portion. It took a little bit longer - we were quoted 20 minutes, but it took over 30 to come out. It wasn't a big deal for our casual hangout, but if you're trying to time up with others, it may be something to be aware of. Seating is available around the food hall, and there is a serve your own water station by the bar. There's a small parking lot adjacent to the building, plus street parking nearby.

    Unseasoned fries

Very disappointing. I don't know how you can make a bad cheesesteak, but this place has accomplished it and then some. I got the classic wiz wit and fries. The meat, dry. The seasoning, nonexistent. The wiz, flavorless and skimpy. The price, unforgivable. The fries, unseasoned (even though they claim to have some of the best special seasoning for fries in town). The meal was so bland it was nearly inedible. I threw out the second half of my sandwich along with rest of my fries. If you're not seasoning any of your food, you shouldn't be serving it. Especially for $20. Will not revisit.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

I'm sure some of them are batched, but they don't taste like they are. Service was excellent, as always. Endlessly knowledgeable. Small place, but never feels crowded even when full.

3.5 star for the service 3 star for the food…read more 5 star for the vibes and interior design This place is more for wow factors and the vibes, if you are a picky foodie, it might not be a perfect spot. Really in love with its vibes, both indoor dining room with different segments of seatings and outdoor patio tables are amazing. The interior design here is truly unique and artistic. Great for big groups, date night, or even just chilling with friends. Not sure if it's the standard here, but there was never anyone filling our water during the entire dining time after they left 2 bottles of water on the table. Our server is patient and friendly but not on point. They messed up our orders, forgot one order and brought one wrong (we ordered smashed burger but received chicken sandwich). Very surprising that the staff didn't do anything or offer to send in the correct order. The chef of table service for Tomahawk is fun and enjoyable to carry conversations but unfortunately our Tomahawk was overcooked. We loved the presentation for sure though. Their smoked ribs is not "smoked" but boiled and soaked in sauce. The "smoked" part refers to its presentation, but their machine was down, and we were not told, so we basically got the ribs, neither smoked in cooking method nor smoked when it was brought to our table. The donut tree is another one great for eyes and cameras. It comes with little fireworks at the table service. Overall we enjoyed the breeze and atmosphere here. Will come back for relaxation if in town.

What a gem. Electric interior and lovely outside patio…read more We grabbed to-go cocktails during covid last year and that was a great experience. Each to-go bottle was equivalent to 2 drinks and came with a bag of chips. Now that's both cute and awesome. Yesterday we came in after moving into the neighborhood and enjoyed the back patio. What a nice place to spend an evening. Spacious yard with plenty of tables and seating. There was a tarot reader last night too so you could sign up to have a reading. We sat with our pup and enjoyed a couple drinks each while decompressing from a busy weekend of unpacking and settling in. Ordered the goodnight sweet prince which was mezcal with chartreuse, lime, Prosecco, pea flower (which I learned is purple ha). I wanted the drink not sweet and the bar must have run out of syrup for me lol. It was perfect without it. More on tart side but that's how I like it. Second drink was a negroni with dry vermouth. Predictable and always a fave for me. I also tasted a barrel aged whiskey just for fun and it's saying a a lot that I could sip it. I normally cannot drink whiskey but this tasted amazing and too easy to drink. Creative and interesting drinks for a good price. They have beer and wine too if you're not into cocktail. And cbd drinks too! They really have it all. I had to ask the bartender if the wine prices were glass or bottle (we are used to $17-$20 glasses in Seattle) and to my very pleasant surprise learned they are bottle prices. I also saw they had $5 negronis during happy hour and that really spoke to me. We will return often.
