I lived here for the last year and I loved it! First and foremost, the staff is phenomenal! From starting the leasing process to moving in to any thing that may have arisen. The leasing office was super helpful and communicative! They really do go above and beyond for their residents! They are super transparent with everything, like the leasing process, any charges, any updates with community, which is amazing. They are also easy to reach. They are also quick to address things! They are continuously improving the property, repairing and renovating. The property itself is great! The gym, pool and business center are maintained well. They hallways and garage are clean. I have high standards now for future renting an apartment, Marq Eight was a great place to live! read more

Update 11/7/17 - I have had great experiences dealing with all the management at Marq Eight. Ricki Williams (Community Director) has always assisted me with a smile. Koko Mello has always responded to any of my requests or concerns very quickly and has always helped me to the fullest extent. Joel Spencer (Maintenance Director) is incredible and always makes sure repairs are made in a timely manner. Each and every one of these people are very kind and will do anything they can to help you out. My air conditioning unit has not worked for nearly 2 weeks. I've put in online requests, over the phone requests, emails, and even visited the leasing office. There was no sense of urgency or concern. It is the summer and nearly 90+ degrees. For over $2000/month, you would think air conditioning would be a simple fix. read more

Today I alerted them of a maintenance emergency (bathroom door jammed and I was unable to open) and Brian was able to prioritize and get it fixed on a busy day in an hour! DO NOT MOVE HERE. MY CAR has been BROKEN into 3 times and the 3rd time just happened 2 weeks ago. We have also had a MURDER at this community. Yes, our neighbor threw a guy off the 5th story balcony. They still have yet to increase security. They would rather invest in new pool furniture then add more cameras and better security. We also had a roof leak that took almost 2 months to fix. Clearly this community has different priorities than taking care of its residents. Follow through on any thing is horrible. I honestly do not know how this company stays in business. It just goes to show how many different management teams we have had over the last few years, there is definitely issues. Along with Issues with the alarms going off falsely more than a couple times between a 1 am - 5 am. Just disappointed with the lack of security measure for such a "luxury property" and area. If you continue to increase our rent, then why have we not seen and increase in security? Redoing our pool amenities with new pool furniture just shows where the property management's priorities are. Trying to wow people when they come for a tour. What about the residents who have complained about major issues and who have been here for years. Do we not matter? For as nice of a location, the apartments themselves, Axis Now Marq Eight is not the best option in the area. I know change takes time but the price is not worth the headaches we have had, the rift raft that has moved in, etc. I wish they would realign their priorities and show us they do care about us as a family and not a number or replacement. read more

Please try to avoid this complex as much as you can. The units are so cute but don't let the cheap prices fool you. Folks at the leasing office switch every so often and it's really hard to get in contact with them over the phone. There were instances where I have called and the phone was ringing for 3 minutes straight and it just hung up automatically. I have called over 4 times in one day and nobody picked up. Not only is it hard to get a hold of the leasing office through the phone, but they are always doing something else in the office. I went to visit this complex to fill out an application and it took the agents forever to get back at me. They were helping me and said I'll be right back and take another 10-15 minutes. Unless you stand in their door, stare at them straight in the face and make sure they help you, that's the only way to get your attention. Other than that, please avoid this complex read more

I've been a resident for 3.5 years. Never had a problem until yesterday. My car was booted and is being held hostage because supposedly I was a non-resident according to Empire Parking Service. This despite my car being permitted. My car has been basically stolen and the management here won't help or return calls and pawns me off to the parking company who calls me a liar and demands their extortion fee before listening to my issue. I've missed work and am forced to find other means of transportation. If you like having a car and not having to worry about your apartment management jeopardizing your job then avoid this place. It used to be so nice. I sing their praises. Not any more. So disappointing. read more

Update Review: Contacted management and the bill was accidentally sent out. Balance remain 0. Update Review: Moved out and called to the office to confirm if there are any additional payment that I needed to pay for. Was told everything has been paid and I should not worry about any additional invoices. A few months later, I receive a bill for utility charges along with some form of "cost recovery fee". In other words, pay the apartment extra money for them not informing you of the bill and then charge you extra for it. Would not recommend. Under Marq Eight Management. Pros: - Apt is near Perimeter Mall and easy walking distance to nearby shops and restaurants. - Apt is safe and residents are respectful of one another and will not cause any issues - Management is quick to fulfill any service requests Cons: - New Management started out offering great service but has since fallen below expectations - Pricier than nearby locations - Management does not improve the facility. The gym has no Wi-Fi and more equipment continue to breaks with no fix in sight. Spots on chairs in the club room. - No monitoring of Parking Deck as there are obvious non-residents parking there overextended amount of time - No events hosted from management - New package notification is not very helpful as management will update the listing at their free time. After living here a few months I am sadly changing my review. Gave a compliment when we first moved in and it has gone downhill fast. From dirty floors not cleaned when we moved in, key fabs and security gates not working, no response to fireworks off top of building that fell into our balcony and plants from front office, broken drawers for several months, dirty clothes from previous tenant left in washer during covid, microwave broken, and ceiling in bathroom leaked three times with mold yet they are trying to just paint over it, dirty diapers on property and trash all over property, mold all over zen garden and the list goes on. The front office went from nice to very passive aggressive or non responsive when asked to do things yet they are nasty when need something. We are extremely upset at this turn of events. If this is luxury, I would hate to see what is not. Very disappointed by how things have turned and wouldn't recommend. Ive learned my lesson with complimenting someone when they havent earned it and being nice when total disregard for safety, quality of property and tenants. Don't waste your money on this high rent and go to a newer property. read more

I haven't had any good experiences with the new staff and Community Manager. I do not for the life of me understand why when a tenant doesn't decide to renew they have to go through all of these unnecessary changes. Everyone is basically short and not welcoming at the end of a lease and I get that but hopefully that will change over time, maybe not at this community. I need to speak with someone very soon about the errors. I lived at this community problem free for three years. The staff prior to the new staff were friendly, accommodating, nice and handled situations in a timely manner. I am very happy I did not renew my lease here. read more

Every Sunday at 7 or 8 AM there is a motorcade at perimeter mall you will not sleep, impossible. The rules are very strict if you miss to turn in a notice to vacate expect huge fees. I didn't know if they would come for me in the middle of the night. I am ok but I really feel for Jada's review. Plus, the sinks are always clogged and also very big coach-roaches for a place this expensive. They even had part of the roof in the gym literally falling down and leaking with water !! I would for sure avoid, specially given these uncertain times they will not help, 0 help if you miss any deadlines. read more

This property has been long over due for a fresh look and Rickie and the team have done just that. The new look is great and they are really doing a great job of enforcing property rules as to keep our environment safe and free of non residents coming into our secured area. The staff is so nice and they are quick to respond to our work order needs. I have lived here since it opened and this management team is by far the best we have ever had!!! If you care about the quality of living, do not move in to this place. You can't find happy and peace like a home here. 1. You will have feeling of being robbed. The managing company will fine you through any excuse and any flaw that they can find. They would try their best to create issue and fool you. They would say "it is convenient to pay your rent through Resident Portal" then they will say " your account balance on Resident Portal is not proper stated. You own $xx to us, not we own you, even though your balance shows a negative balance and also pay the fine of $200 too" the most exciting thing, one of the leasing office member wrote me a note: we will send notice to your door every day until you pay. Wow! Luckily the amount is affordable for me this time, I don't know what to do if they ask $1500 next time. In conclusion: listen to your leasing office, account balance on Resident portal is WRONG! You need to cover your butt if you paid wrong amount. 2. Don't let your friends, family and significant others come overnight especially if they need to work next morning. Their cars will be towed, because they don't have parking STICKER on the car. If you get a new car, updating vehicle information on your Resident Portal account is useless. Leasing office never check there and they don't care! The towing company doesn't care neither. They also don't care that you have key to enter the garage and enter the building and go home, No Sticker = $75 towing fee. read more

I have been an original tenant here for over eight years, and have watched this community go through several changes. One thing I must stress so that others who read this will understand, especially after reading the other reviews, is that our manager, Ricki and CWS Management, have done an EXCELLENT job compared to ANY other management we have had since Lane Company built and managed it initially when it was first built. I was one of the first tenants here and am the original renter in my apartment. The location is ideal for the mall, Marta, 285 accessible within minutes, and loaded with several options for restaurants and food delivery in the surrounding area, with two local post offices near by, and many options for other services in the area for spas, veterinary care, fitness centers, shopping, and more. You can be in Buckhead within 15 minutes, and in Alpharetta in 20 to 30 minutes, plus Marta allows for a breeze of a trip to the airport. The dog park was completely revamped in the back area, the outside grounds restored to a plush green and floral standard, along with gravel laid where we had damage to the yard after a construction upgrade before CWS took on the management here. It was long overdue and when Ricki got here she had things improved - pronto! The other thing I REALLY appreciate is the fact they DO have car tires locked and vehicles towed if need be if they don't have a resident sticker on their car. We were given two months advance notice about the sticker application so there was plenty of time and communication and it was a welcome change to those of us who have been here awhile. The tow company comes randomly and this keeps the community in a higher standard of living. I also appreciate that they require a background check before moving in, AND, when renewing. That keeps things in the open as to exactly who is living here. This was more than a welcome change as well. When Marq Eight came in the other company gave us ZERO notice as to the change and can't imagine how hard it was as a management team to come in brand new, and have to learn tenants, the computer system, the history of the property, and more, literally, over night. Ricki and her associates keep us regularly informed of the things we need to know, and NONE of the other management companies kept us in the know about any of the details of the community before, like this. This is a large complex and it takes a lot to keep eyes out for everything - but over all, I have seen most everything addressed that needed to be especially if we email them and have a question or need. The door is always open in the management office during hours with someone to chat with about questions or needs, and the packages, which are plentiful, have been carefully monitored and notifications sent in a timely manner. They even stayed open late during Christmas so people could get packages after work. Who does that? The pool was just recently emptied and cleaned, and the entire complex received brand new carpet and paint on each floor. It's absolutely beautiful, and is the second time we have had carpet and paint redone since living here. Someone else on a review mentioned a murder here years ago that happened. I was here that day and know EXACTLY what happened which was an isolated case, nothing serial in nature, and an unfortunate fight that got way out of hand. It was tragic, but then again we see murder happen all over this city and in any kind of location from apartments, upscale neighborhoods, in commercial areas, and more. The fact it happened here was more a matter of timing and alcohol and tempers involved. Needless to say, the guy is doing some serious time for it but we have had ZERO activity of that kind since that happened several years ago. The student housing issues were completely eliminated and we have a NICE community of families that live here now. Ricki helped me out a couple of times when I was unsure about renewing my lease due to some health problems and a car accident, and did what she could to accommodate what was needed for me to stay on longer. As of now I am making a work related move, and know that the next tenant who moves into my place will love the fact it faces a nice zen garden with a BBQ grill, and is near the door for parking and accessible to the elevator. Even our gym has new equipment! For the most part it's been quiet and any needs for maintenance have been taken care of with a thorough response and immediate repair. Our maintenance team has been pleasant and professional and I have seen them work well past office hours to get the job done. One time I had a leak in my AC and the maintenance team was up here and fixed it before I even had a chance to write a request! IMPRESSIVE. Then another maintenance team member followed up with a request for a new filter and vacuumed out the closet where the AC is and I could tell a nice difference immediately. He went the extra mile. I've been a resident at Marq Eight for the past four years and I hate to leave for job-related purposes; however, the management team is amazing. Community Director (Ricki Williams) is polite and did all she could to get me to renew my lease. When I told her I couldn't, she referred me to sister-properties and also said she'd love to have me back at Marq Eight if plans change in the future. Parking is reasonable, as only residents can park in the deck. Visitors have specific parking. The maintenance staff addresses issues in a quick and professional manner, and remaining office staff (Esp. Sigourney) continued to meet my high expectations. I also felt safe in the Dunwoody neighborhood. I will definitely miss the staff and beauty of this community. read more

Potential renters BEWARE!! Axis @ Perimeter is NOT the luxury living apartment community that it markets itself to be. Giving them 1 star for this review is generous! I do not write online reviews, and in fact this might be my very first one, but given our experience at Axis, I believe it is my responsibility to share. Hopefully, it can help you can make an informed decision on where to call home. Sorry for its length, but PLEASE READ review in its entirety. After due diligence and research, we moved to Axis July 2013. We were very willing to pay the price for "luxury", amenities, and convenience. We loved the area and we were impressed with this specific apartment community, as there are many other apartment options nearby. The first few months were fabulous, but sadly by fall 2013, the bottom began to fall out at Axis and our high priced luxury apartment complex quickly became a huge regret!! In summary, during our 20 months at Axis, we have dealt with all (but not limited to) the following - unannounced major construction project, un-kept buildings/grounds, unsafe/unsecure parking garage, college student housing, management changes, constant changes with office manager/all other office staff, numerous broken promises and "advertised" amenities that simply don't exist. In fall 2013, tenants were informed of a massive construction project AFTER it began!! Initial communication (which was very limited), was "minor", will not affect you, etc. What was to last about 3 months, turned into close to a year. There was absolutely no regard or consideration to the inconvenience to tenants. It was several months of chaos - we had to deal with noise, trash, limited access, and DUST everywhere (even in apts)!! What were current/paying tenants offered for living in this mess for several months? Absolutely nothing!! Instead they extended offers to potential/new tenants to get them in the door despite construction. FYI, major construction will be going on behind the building (not Axis related) for several months to come and this is already presenting issues for tenants. Axis grounds, and specifically the dog park/back of the building, have always been barely accessible/usable. Especially if there's rain...this is almost always. You have to track through mud and pet waste to make even make it to the dog bark, which is in similar condition. After months of promising to fix this and re-landscape, they finally laid pine straw to solve the issue. I guess after a year, that's baby steps to "re-landscaping". There is trash, spills, and stains in the hallways, staircases, parking garage, and elevators. You would never know the complex got new carpet and paint about a year ago because it is filthy. They claim to vacuum our hallways several times a week, despite evidence to prove otherwise. They also claim to clean the stairwells regularly. I walk the stairwells daily - they almost always have trash (and for many days/weeks the same trash). Pet waste happens often in the hallways and elevators. The gates in the parking garage are always broke and remain broken for several days/weeks before they are fixed and then broken again. This allows access to everyone (not just tenants) to a "secure" parking garage. There have been vehicle break-ins in the "secured" tenant floors of the garage. Not to mention, the potential for other incidents to happen. BEST FOR LAST - Axis contracted with a local college for student living and they initially did this for about year. As tenants, we were livid and again, Axis communicated nothing to us until after the fact. Who pays top dollar to live in a college dorm? I have a son in college and that's exactly where he is...college/campus. Only after numerous complaints, backlash, and constant police activity, Axis rescinded and did not renew leases once they were up. Well guess what? Students are coming back! Based off prior experience, this is a terrible decision. Much to our regret now and despite our past dealings, we did renew our lease in 2014, BUT this was based solely on promises/changes to come - new office manager, no more students, clean grounds/building, new dog park/landscaping, chef prepared monthly breakfast returning (this happened once since our move in), bring back coffee bar, etc. Fast forward today and not one single item on just this to-do list has been done. I will reserve specific comments regarding office staff, since the majority (once again) are new but I will say our dealings with the office manager have not been satisfactory. Needless to say, we are broke our lease and are now officially out of Axis - one of the best feelings ever!! As high paying tenants, none of this is acceptable and there are plenty of other apartment options in the area. Avoid the nightmare!! read more

Three year resident here 2018-2021. Living at Marq Eight has been the best experience I could ever have in Atlanta. Easily accessible to the city and Downtown while still being quiet at night/a bit tucked away and having a reverse commute to Alpharetta was amazing. I've personally never had a maintenance issue go on longer than 1-3 days and the grounds are always well maintained and clean. Parking was always available for myself and guests. I would be splitting hairs to say things I didn't like about the property. Most residents that I've met are younger professionals or younger families. I rarely interacted with the staff, but when I did, they are always very helpful, specifically Sigourne. I signed with her in 2018 and at every touchpoint she was kind, smiling, and truly willing to help - if she was having a bad day, I never knew it. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking in the area. read more

I love the Axis!! I never had any trouble. The maintenance come quickly to resolve any issues. Construction is pretty good the walls aren't thin and I can only hear the people upstairs if they go out of their way to be loud. The parking deck is convenient just be careful some people do go fast. It's expensive but you pay for what you get. A safe neighborhood,wonderful amenities, and a great management staff. I moved in to my apartment about a month ago and I absolutely love it. I had been looking for places for awhile and Alyssa made my move so easy! She answered every question I asked (I had a million of them) and made herself available to me pretty much anytime I needed her. It's so nice to work with someone genuine and you can tell she loves her residents. The apartment is spacious and relaxing. I can't really hear anyone and being on the third floor that was a worry of mine. I love all of the updated features and that we are located within walking distance from anything you could really need. I'm so fortunate to call Axis my home. read more

The Move-Out experience totally ruined what could have been a decent review. First, and foremost, the actual facilities are pretty good. I had a 1 bedroom from July 2014 - Aug 2015. The apartment was nice as well as the appliances. It was mostly quiet. I rarely heard my neighbors either above or next door to me. Never heard complaints of noise coming from my place. One concern with this place is the constant issues with the gate in the garage. It is often broken and anyone can drive up to any of the floors. This seems to be an issue with many apartment facilities so it is what it is. At one point the toilet roll in the bathroom broke from the wall and I had maintenance come and repair it. Instead of removing the entire piece from the wall they installed a completely different type of roll. It looked extremely tacky but I did not have many guests and the new roll was functional. I moved out on 31 July, then was confused when a received a letter from Axis stating that I owed 2 months worth of utilities totaling $121. The Assistant Community Manager stated that I had always been paying for utilities for "2 months in the rear." This did not make sense to me as I had been paying utilities from the time I moved in. I paid the amount asked to conclude my business with Axis...only to receive another letter today from this same manager titled "Final Bill"! This letter included rent + utilities that I had already paid. There was also a $100 charge for "not cleaning the stove and microwave" and a $25 charge for the "hole in bathroom wall". I was livid! I went straight to the office and spoke to this manager. He told me the letter must have been typed up "previously". He said he could take off the $25 for the hole in the wall, as though that was a favor. He said that he did not control how much the cleaning service charged for the stove and microwave. He showed me some picture of the microwave that looked as though it could be wiped clean with a dry paper towel. And a blurry photo of the stove/oven that he tried to describe, but it made no sense whatsoever. After considering the hassle it was worth to fight this, I decided to pay the $100 with the assurance from this manager that our business was done. He assured me that this was the last of our business. I gave this company an appropriate move-out letter in the appropriate time-frame. There was ample time to discuss any charges that I would face during move out. It all felt like a money grab and if I allowed it they would pillage for more. I would never consider recommending anyone to this facility or anything associated with this business. No one wants to feel like they're being robbed. read more

I just signed my lease at the Axis and am very pleased with my decision so far. This review is mainly for the outstanding service that I received from the leasing consultant, Diego. He was extremely nice and patient in showing me all of the floor plan options so I could make the best decision. His customer service was not only top notch for me as a potential tenant, but also to existing tenants as well. He is by far extraordinary and you can tell that he truly cares about taking care of your needs as a resident of the Axis. As far as the apartments go, the 2 bedroom apartments are spacious, upgraded, and well laid out. You get a lot of space in the apartment and the rent is very reasonable compared to other apartments in the area. I also like that you instantly feel a sense of community upon your first visit. Neighbors and leasing staff are very friendly. Since I've signed the lease I've already starting receiving invitations to community events and I'm not even a resident yet! The property also seems very secure with security cameras and controlled access to parking and the buildings. I visited the Axis several times at different times of the week and on the weekend to ensure that the property and complex are not noisy and unkept when the leasing office closes. To my delight each time the complex was clean and quiet which is a big plus for me. They also offer a lot of amenities that cater to working professionals.
