Nice urgent care with friendly staff. I had a terrible stomach bug earlier this year and a newborn. I was able to make an appointment online and when i got to the urgent care the desk staff wanted me they were running behind and let me wait at home with my baby and texted me when it was time for my appointment. I so appreciated their flexibility so that i could care for my baby and didn't have to suffer through my flu symptoms at the urgent care center. Would not recommend Marque Urgent Care for urgent care needs. The wrong medication was prescribed for treatment, and the issue was never properly resolved. A call from the doctor advising that the medication should be stopped came only after the entire course had already been completed. After returning to the Bay Area, additional medical care was needed, and a different medication was prescribed to address the condition. They never encouraged scheduling a phone appointment to discuss this change in further detail. The evaluation and treatment plan appeared rushed and lacked thoroughness, resulting in unnecessary delays in receiving appropriate care. Patients deserve accurate diagnoses, appropriate treatment, and timely follow-up. Unfortunately, that was not the experience received here. read more

Dr Ana Quini sutured a cut on my thumb. She offered me 2 options and I chose sutures. Dr Quini was friendly and had wonderful interpersonal skills. Made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Also offered me 2 numbing options, I chose to block my thumb. Her injection was virtually painless and also felt nothing when she numbed the laceration site. I am so happy she was on staff that day. They also took care of my husband on 3 visits, one serious and all the Docs were exceptional. I (ICU RN) highly recommend this Urgent Care. Marque Urgent Care - Breakdown in Basic Patient Care Follow-Through I was treated at Marque Urgent Care for a respiratory illness and the provider prescribed cough medication to be filled at the VA Hospital in La Jolla. The VA informed Marque that the specific cough medication prescribed was not available in the VA pharmacy formulary. The VA then provided a list of alternative medications available through the VA pharmacy and asked Marque to select one so the prescription could be issued. Marque never responded to the VA. As a result, the prescription could not be updated and I was left without the medication while sick. I called the Grosvenor location at 9:00 AM to resolve the issue. The staff member told me there was no supervisor available and that I could not speak with anyone in charge. I was told someone would call me back before 5:00 PM. No one called. This situation reflects a failure of basic patient care coordination and accountability. When a hospital contacts a prescribing clinic requesting a medication substitution, a competent provider responds promptly so the patient can obtain treatment. That did not happen here. Patients who expect reliable follow-through and communication should consider seeking care elsewhere. read more

Absolutely awful experience. I came here for a simple medical exam for a job, and the doctor couldn't even fill out the paperwork correctly. On top of that, I was failed based on a completely wrong EKG reading. I went to my primary care provider the next day and passed everything--including the EKG--without a single issue. This place is ridiculously overpriced, and the doctor is nearly impossible to understand. Total waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. read more

Pain, Disappointment and a Wasted Afternoon... After an hour journey to arrive here I was informed of my payment during check-in. The front desk staffer said because I have PPO insurance they'd have to charge me full book because I still have a deductible I needed to reach. I replied that my Urgent Care visits have a copay of $35 (as stated on the front of my card) as long as they were in-network... which they were. She disagreed and kept preaching the same message and that's what their contract dictates. She wouldn't even lift a finger to double-check with the phone numbers on my card. I thought to myself, "I'd better leave now not knowing what other surprise charges they may have in store for me." After another hour journey going home with no solution to my week-long medical issue, I decided to call customer rep at my insurance. The rep said that Urgent Care was not correct and to seek out another one. Life would be so much better if everyone was on the same page. I do not recommend using this Urgent Care. Marque Urgent Care - Waiting room empty. So rare for a urgent care - Urgent Care Near Me - San Diego, California

This is awful. 2 nurses are here as well as a doctor. Majority of rooms are empty. It is very slow. I'm waiting now 90 minutes. I patiently and kindly told the head assistant in front of the doctor and the nurses that I have an appointment to get to. They know my visit will only take 2 minutes max. The nurse at the pacific beach location only examined me for literally 45 seconds (rudely) but he made the correct diagnosis. He was a PA and told me he saw over 100 patients that day. I won't mention how disgusting the doctor who called me via teledoc from this place 2 months ago. If you're not careful you're going to face more and more lawsuits. You don't treat people this way. Will I ever be seen ? You guys are incompetent and you don't care for anyone but yourselves. Unprofessional is an understatement read more

Post-COVID Marque Urgent Care is a different world than 3 years ago. Their online reservation is a sham. The front desk reception strictly use the word "reservation" instead of "appointment" for the online system so that the business is not held accountable if they do not see you for your "reservation" time. Even if you have a "reservation" you better check in early to secure your place in line. If you have flu or cold symptoms you are forced to wait outside in the back of the building until a nurse is available to do a COVID test for you. Does not matter if you've completed at-home tests. You better have a car or wear layers otherwise you'll either be freezing cold in the winter or out in the blazing sun during summer and fall. They offer you to wait in your car but if you got dropped off like I did your SOL. The staff are respectful and kind, as they should be in the healthcare industry. read more

Start to finish the whole experience was amazing. I booked a time online (easy), check in was simple, the place was clean. I was in the office room within ten minutes of checking in (on a Monday.) The staff was incredible, great nurse who quickly took vitals, connected me to a doctor. The onsite doc was on lunch, I was able to see a virtual doctor who examined my throat via cameras in the office. All in all it was an effecient, effective visit (what more can you ask for?) To top it all off the staff was incredible, the doctor, the nurse, and the front desk team. I'll be back - just hopefully not soon! read more

Yesterday I accidentally scraped my back against a garage door handle, and found myself in need of an updated tetanus shot. I usually receive my service through Sharp, but based on their estimated wait times it would have been over 2 hours for a walk in for their Urgent Care. Marque Urgent Care stood out as I was searching for alternatives as they were the only location that allowed me to reserve my spot in advance. I set my time for 4:30pm, and arrived 15 minutes early per their recommendation as a new patient. Once I arrived, the front desk representative was on her personal cell phone. I stood there for a minute before she finally greeted me, and as I provided my name for check in she instructed me to take a seat and they would "call me shortly." The front desk rep never spoke to me again after this, and the next time she drew my attention was when she accidentally played a video too loud and had to quickly mute it. I was finally called back to check my vitals about 90 minutes after my original appointment time. The nurse who took my vitals was carrying an active conversation with me up until the point the blood pressure monitor started taking my blood pressure. There was no rest period in between the walk/conversation/vitals, so my blood pressure registered significantly higher than usual which promoted concern from the nurse. After the nurse took me back into the waiting room, I continued to wait for another 30+ minutes. When the doctor finally came in, the total interaction took maybe 2-3 minutes. She inspected the abrasion, agreed to update my tetanus, then sent a nurse in to provide the tetanus shortly thereafter. As I was led back to the front, I hovered by the front desk rep (who once again was on her phone) and she looked at me confused. I asked if there was any co-pay or out of pocket costs, she said no, and I left the establishment. Although the workers (other than the front desk) were nice, I can't recommend this place based on my experience. I arrived at 4:15pm for my 4:30pm appointment, and left at 7:00pm after receiving a few minutes of care. My vitals were not taken accurately, and the front desk rep wasn't attentive to the patients who were waiting. read more

What is the point of making an appointment when people with later appointments go ahead of you and you're waiting for over an hour just to see triage and then another 30 minutes for a doctor. Waste of a morning and will not come back. Extremely frustrating when I made an appointment the day prior and end up waiting over two hours just to be seen for 3 minutes and told my pain isn't worth being prescribed anything. I am very blessed to live so close to Marque Urgent Care. I recently needed stitches and had the most pleasant experience while feeling unpleasant. From the ladies at the front desk to the nurse who took my vitals, I can't stop saying such nice things about them. All were extremely nice, knowledgable and professional. Dr Flores carefully stitched me up and made me feel so comfortable while being so uncomfortable. Not once did anyone at Marque Urgent Care shame me for my injury. While I don't want another visit anytime soon, it's comforting to know that they are nearby ready to help. Sometimes 5 stars just ain't enough. read more

I had a sore throat that needed looking at. I came here for examination. I keep going to this place for care for many reasons. They are super efficient in getting to me quickly and attended to, extremely informative to all my questions I ask, (-and it's usually many!), polite, and right on spot for my needs related to my health issues. I have gone here for years. The quality of service is excellent and caring. Dr. Gerson is extremely personable and knows his stuff-smart guy! Marilyn, Sofia, and Alexis keep that office running very smooth and are, too, super attentive and kind-hearted. It is just a comforting place to go for care. It is always a great experience, and the music they play to calm the nerves isn't bad either. I will continue to take advantage of their services when needed. Thank you all there. I came for eye infection check. There was ONE patient before me. It's been 2 hours and I'm still waiting for this patient to be done. Asked staff, and they provided no help. This small infection will probably cost me couple more viruses ... Update: Staff apologized and provided some compensation for unreasonable waiting. I came into this urgent care on 11/2/24 for an extremely painful abscess in my underarm. Even with a reserved time at 3:30pm, I waited in the waiting room for 1 hour to be called back and left waiting in the treatment room for another 30 minutes. When the PA finally came in she asked me pretty standard questions about what's going on and I explained to her the pain and how it's been swelling. She then proceeds to examine the abscess and without warning presses very deeply into sending me into excruciating pain that left me in tears after she left. She tells me that she'll write a note for me to get antibiotics and to also start taking tylenol and advil together before leaving the room. I waited 1hr30mins to almost 2hrs for her to spend 2 seconds in the room with me and leave me in tears. I would've had a better use of my time going to the er. I'm sure they would've just drained it for me or at least give me a little more than 2 seconds of their time. read more

Best urgent care I've ever been to in my life. I went to one on Ruffin 1st, 4 hr wait. Was able to check online for this place, you can make appointments or walk in (wait time said 5-15 min for walk ins). I immediately started the new patient paperwork via a text they sent to my phone & was called back. They even billed my secondary insurance so I had no out of pocket cost! In & out in under 30 min with my RX being sent to my pharmacy. read more

The nurse that did my blood work was extremely skilled... i have small veins and they roll easily and most times they have to poke me few times to find a good one, but not here! Do not go here if you need X-rays! One, the X-ray tech doesn't work the same business hours as everyone else. After waiting forever, we were told to come back a few hours later when the X-ray tech was there. When we returned and the XRay was done, we were told we would be emailed the results and that a physician would email us back. It's been over 24 hours later and NOTHING has happened. No results. No physician call back. So my husband drove back up there to speak to the MD about the results, and my sons finger WAS FRACTURED. No discharge instructions. No follow up connections. No splint. They don't even have splints in the office. TERRIBLE. DO NOT GO HERE. If you call to speak to someone in the office-you just get voice mail. If you ask for customer service, you just get voice mail. TERRIBLE. Please contact your insurance company and complain to them. read more

I got injured at work 3 months ago, and have been to this location 7 times now for workers Comp. I highly recommend you visit the UTC location, the staff are so helpful, positive and friendly. Mary at reception is one of those rare people you come across, who brightens your day just by her kindness, she is a true sweetheart and wow, she is knowledgeable, she has helped and continues to help me through this complicated Workers comp process, giving clear and concise information that I can understand. Believe all the bad reviews. I wish I would have checked them before coming here. My daughter had very mild Covid 2 weeks ago. She's tested negative many times since then. Today she has signs of potential appendicitis so we made an appt and came in. We were told her symptoms are Covid symptoms. We explained they are not and we are worried about appendicitis. They said they will do a Covid test and she must do a virtual appt. I asked how they could test for appendicitis virtually. The MA went back and said the doctor would see us if she tested negative for Covid. We are now sitting waiting for the nurse to do the Covid test and up to now it's been an hour. We were finally taken to a room to see the doctor. That was half an hour ago..... read more

The level of service is so unethical. I was refused service because I didn't have $20 co pay but I did have insurance to cover the visit. I had asked office manager if they can bill me but she had refused. I was applauded and disbelief that they will Compromise someone health for just $20. Later, Dr Samuel came to rein-generate their company policy. I had told them it's not about a company policy it's about ethics no one health shouldn't be Compromise if it's a urgent matter and they're not able to pay. He started to become erratic and start yelling at me. This type of behavior is Unacceptable from a medical professional. I am loss of words to see a medical clinic more concern about a small fraction of a cost than a person health. Not a positive experience. My toddler son jammed his finger pretty good on Friday night and we decided to try this place since it's right up the road. We were told they didn't have an X-ray available, but I was hoping he wouldn't need it. After waiting 45-60 mins, the doctor finally appeared in our room. He stated right off the bat that we were his second to last visit for the day (read: he's had a long day and was ready to go home ). He took one look at my son's finger and said "oh yeah, this is gonna need an X-ray" and that was it, he was done. Didn't even provide as much as a wrap or ice pack for my son's finger. So we got about 15 seconds of his time. He said there was nothing he could do and we had to go to PB for the X-ray. He walked out of the room and I protested, as it felt like it was much ado about nothing. I actually asked for my $20 co-pay to be returned. The nurse told the doctor that I was being difficult, and he re-entered the room in an aggressive, confrontational manner, saying to me, "didn't they tell you up front that we don't have an X-ray?!" He followed that up with "I can't just look at a finger and tell if it's broken or not!" Thanks, Capt. Obvious. On top of that, the doctor (mistakenly) cursed in front of my 3 year old son. After we exchanged some words, he stormed out of the room in a fit of rage. I just had to laugh. What a professional. We went down to PB to get the X-ray, but I had to call the facility the next day for the results because - guess what?! - they never called or emailed me anything, I had to proactively follow up with them. Doc - I get that you probably had a long day and deal with difficult patients all the time but dude - take a breath and work on your bedside manner. You get paid handsomely for what you do.
