There is limited street parking and you'll be driving for a while until one opens up. Nice restaurants close by and easy access to the city.

One was down the whole time we stayed and one day a second one was down causing very long lines to get to and from your room and lobby. Also, this hotel does not charge any Iadditional Resort fees, so in total we paid about $589 for a room with 2 double beds and a city view on the 19th (out of 22) floor. As soon as we arrived, there were a lot of staff at the front desk, some looked like managers. They were extremely friendly. I believe Layla (?) checked us in and let us know that our room would be ready in about 15 minutes. They were always greeting us whenever we went through the lobby. The room itself was nice, not too small or crowded (unlike other rooms I stayed in while visiting NYC that were super tiny). Sheets and towels were clean; however some of the towels had holes and were ripping. The bathroom was slightly older-looking, the shower floor looked like it could use a heavy bleach cleaning. They provided 2 free water bottles each day, which was awesome. There were also toiletries available in the bathroom: mouthwash, lotion, q-tips, shower cap, nail file. The shower also had three dispensers, I believe they were shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I didn't use them, so didn't pay much attention. The lowest level had a really tiny gym and ice machine. The gym was very small and extremely hot. However, it was nice to have one. The hotel itself is not easy to find from the street/sidewalk. You would have to look for the hotel restaurant name first, then you'll find the hotel.

So glad we did! We love Brooklyn and this area in particular. This TownePlace is right around the corner from the Subway station, literally 3 minutes. We take the Subway everywhere we can when we visit, so we were happy. This is a great location! There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood and the people are so friendly. There are lots of fun locally owned shops which we enjoyed as well. If you don't mind the walk, you can head to the shops next to the Barclay center which have Target and Marshalls and other shops but those are the only two we were interested in at this time. You can take the Subway over there, but we like to walk as much as possible when in NY. In the hotel there is a washer and dryer which cost $6 a load. The hotel sells laundry soap in the little lobby market. The complimentary breakfast is just like the regular Marriott breakfast for a TownePlace. Eggs, bacon/sausage, oatmeal, bagels/muffins, yogurt, dry cereal, coffee. Not much fresh fruit at this location. We checked in and checked out without any issues. Our room was spacious and clean. Great view to watch people shoveling snow and watch the snow fall. Big windows to let in the sunshine when the snow stopped. We will definitely be back in 2027!

However, after Christmas, December 26th, I called around 1PM to have our room cleaned. The front desk confirmed, we left and returned at 7pm, the room has not yet been cleaned and the trash bins are full for both the bathroom and kitchen. I was informed by the front desk that they do not have housekeeping and will schedule the room for cleaning tomorrow. I said, but our trash is full. They can't do anything about it. I went downstairs with 2 bags of trash and offer to throw the trash away and was told they can't throw them away and to just leave the garbage in the hallway, outside the room. How can a place like this not have a housekeeping available, it's only 7pm. How about offer to get the trash at least? Am I at Marriott?

He booked it via booking.com and had a slight issue because he accidentally booked it for the wrong date. Booking does have a change of reservation policy, it is free and included, but the first 2 people over the phone at booking did not want to do their jobs. The third person finally did their job and seamlessly changed the reservation date. Why isn't the option available online, I'll never know, that could have all been avoided! He works overtime quite a bit and late nights so I didn't blame him for a second! It meant the world to me that he planned this all on his own for me. So he made a mistake, big whoop, things happen when you're exhausted. PARKING The parking lot is spacious and free! Plenty of parking to choose from! Obviously we also stayed off season during a weekday so that might have also factored into things. CHECKING-IN My god this place was stunning! The sliding door to the toilet was chefs kiss! You wouldn't have even known it was there. And there's a mirror on the sliding door! There's also a floor to ceiling interesting mirror on the opposite wall. Stunning! The wallpaper options were interesting and eccentric to say the least, but we still enjoyed the vibe. It was very hipster I guess you could say. Definitely a vibe! The bed was comfortable as well! All the pillows were nice and soft, overall the whole stay and date night was a hit! And because we had such a good time with the first date night, we decided to keep doing it! Pun not intended. The TV and remote also worked well! We were able to log into my Netflix account with ease, and it logs out on its own as well! FOOD There is no breakfast included, but there are plenty of restaurants around the area to go grab a bite to eat. But there's so many other places, Nrgzie a juice smoothie shop, Chipotle, Carnegie Diner & Cafe, as well as others. If you don't like anything in the area, the American Dream Mall has many options to choose from as well! OVERALL This hotel is right near many other hotels in the area. The American Dream Mall is nearby, but it is not in walking distance. You either need to drive, get an Uber/Lyft or take a shuttle over if the hotel provides shuttle service. A lot of the surrounding hotels do provide a shuttle service, so just check in with the front desk. My man and I love to snowboard before date night, that's why I mention American Dream Mall quite often. That's our shared hobby and how we met. She scolded me for having bags (which was to hold the dirty laundry, not to steal food). Then, she proceeds to ask everyone for their room key. Excuse me? Stop everyone at the entrance then. Why are you giving us access to the food and then treating us like crinimals? The food is all prepacked. Jimmy Dean, Danone, none of it is made in house. There was bright green gum stuck to the shower room. Sure, this place is cheaper than staying in Manhattan but damn, the staff here could use a lesson in people skills. They have valet parking but there is also metered street parking. We took advantage of the latter as we were pretty much out for most of our stay. The staff here were extremely nice and friendly. When we went to our room, we did find that the toilet was dirty. We went back down and requested another room. They didn't hesitate at all and we were given a different room. Our new room was clean and comfortable. We chose to stay at this location because we wanted to check out different boroughs. It was very convenient to where we wanted to go. We did take a couple of trips back to Manhattan but it wasn't a big deal. Probably one of the better choices in the area for a comfortable stay.
