I was wrong. It was about a half hour away and had I known this, I would've stayed at a hotel closer to the cruise port. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and check in was smooth. The room was nice appointed with a lousy view of the roof. The bed was comfortable and the room was also equipped with a Keurig coffee maker. After checking in to the room, I went down to the pool and hung out there for a couple of hours. It was very relaxing, but the water was on the cold side. I was informed that they had a happy hour which consisted of five dollar appetizers at 5 PM at the bar, which is what I decided to check out. There was definitely a language barrier with the bartenders so I had to point to things on the menu. The calimari was rock hard and the worst I've ever had. Once I let them actually feel one of the pieces, they took it away and removed the charge from my bill. Certain glasses of wine were five dollars during this happy hour period, which was a good deal. They do not offer shuttle service from the Miami airport to their hotel, but they will offer free shuttle service within a 3 mile radius of the hotel, should you wish to venture out and go shopping or out to eat. I'm giving it 4 stars for the room and the pool area. Everything else was just very average and for the price I paid for the room, I don't think I would return.

Employees were happy and eager to assist. Champions Bar & Grill was equally delightful with impeccable service and dining options. The salmon was one of the best dishes I've had and servers were attentive. Grounds were meticulous although I did mention to the pool monitor that I had black lines across my back after visiting the pool. I rested against the side of the pool deck while swimming. With the recent Everglades fire I think soot had accumulated on the edge. It was very hard to wipe off, almost sticky. Had it not been for that experience this would have been a perfect stay.

Amazing stay at Trump National Doral Miami!…read more I stayed in the Arnold Palmer Villas, and the experience was top-notch from start to finish. The room was spacious, spotless, and had fantastic views this is exactly what you should hope for at a resort like this. I played golf at both the Blue Monster and Silver Fox courses. I'm just a casual golfer, but WOW these are easily some of the nicest courses I'll ever play. It truly felt like a once in a lifetime golf experience. Dining was also a highlight. I ate at Champions Club and BLT Prime multiple times during my stay both had excellent food and outstanding service every time. The entire resort was beautifully maintained, the staff was friendly, and the overall vibe was just relaxing and high-end. If you're considering a trip to Doral whether for golf, dining, or just a luxury getaway this place is worth it.

The staff…read morewas friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I expect from the Aloft brand. My only complaint is the EV charging situation. Aloft shares the charging station with Element, and one of the charging cables has apparently been down for over two years. That's kind of wild for a Marriott property, especially with more guests traveling with EVs. Marriott, you've got to step it up and get that fixed! Outside of that, the stay was great and I really enjoyed the property. I'll definitely be back again!

The Good The staff here are pleasant and professional, and the cleaning crew does a great job; I had no cleanliness concerns during my stay. The room design reminds me of an upscale dorm room or a hostel, which works for this brand. A major plus is the 107 Steak and Bar attached to the Element Hotel, which shares the back courtyard--it's a fantastic place to grab a meal or drink without leaving the property. If you do venture out, La Terrezza and MIA Still & Brewery are both nearby and are great choices. The gym is solid, and the lobby is laid out nicely for working or networking. The music has a beat, but it isn't overpowering like at the Moxy. You also get plenty of free parking with your pass, and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The Bad The technology is a bit behind the times. The TVs don't have an easy streaming option for Netflix, and there are no premium movie channels. If you are someone who needs to unpack, take note: there is no drawer space. They provide an iron, but there is no steamer available for your clothes. The Ugly A person on the road for work looks forward to two comforts: a good bed and a hot shower. This place only delivered on the first. The best the shower could do was "pretty warm," which just doesn't cut it when you're trying to relax after a long day. Then there's the coffee. The lobby coffee was weak and undrinkable both days; I've had bad lobby coffee before, but rarely would I rather throw it away than drink it. The breakfast was also a letdown. The burrito was essentially a frozen, microwaved meal. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was passable, but for just a few more dollars, you should go across the street to La Terrezza and treat yourself to a real meal.

The good: I appreciated being able to check in early, which was very convenient. The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-located. This part of town was not in existence last time I visited Miami so I was in awe. There's a lot to do here. The room, though a bit small, was nicely designed and comfortable. The not-so-good: I had called ahead to confirm whether the in-room coffee machine used K-Cups, and was told it did so I purchased pods in advance. Turns out, they use a different, hard-to-find type of pod, which was frustrating and felt like a waste. I was told rooms would be serviced every other day, but my room was never serviced at all even after I brought it up at the front desk. That was a major letdown in terms of basic expectations from a hotel. The lobby bar looked convenient, but it always seemed empty except for a few bored patrons, so I never felt inclined to check it out. Overall, it's a decent hotel in a great part of town, but the lack of follow-through on service and small but avoidable annoyances keep it from being a top pick. I'd consider staying again, but I'd definitely explore other options first especially those with more consistent room service and better in-room amenities.
