Located inside the JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa, this cute little gift shop offers so many cool gifts. When you walk into the hotel, Turnberry News is located on the left as you walk in. Walk up a few steps and it's right there. When I first came here, I was looking for snacks or a drink. What I didn't expect to find was ridiculously cool gift ideas. They have all the stuff I love and would totally buy, for myself or gifts for others. Lots of modern and playful gifts. Even the greeting cards are cool. Right next door you can find lots of golf attire and equipment for golfing. I mean, Turnberry Isle Country Club is immediately outside of JW Marriott Turnberry Resort. Makes sense. For future reference, if you're visiting or staying at this gorgeous hotel...stop by Turnberry News to snag some cool gifts for loved ones! You won't regret it

Luckily, I spotted self-parking, and we were able to get into the garage instead. Check-in was easy. As a Marriott Lifetime Platinum member, I appreciate the benefits of loyalty, and my room was upgraded to the Orchid Tower with a beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course. The resort charges a $75 resort fee, which includes access to the gym, putting greens, and Tidal Cove Water Park. On Saturday afternoon we headed to the water park, but it was so crowded. There were no chairs available, the lazy river was bumper-to-bumper with people, and several families allowed their children to fight and run around while security seemed uninterested. We left and walked over to the adult pool, which was nice and had plenty of chairs. The wedding itself was beautiful. The Grand Ballroom was a little tight for the 220 guests. The dance floor was too small to accommodate. The catered meal (beef, fish, or vegetarian) was typical banquet food and unfortunately inedible. I was there to celebrate the bride and groom, so the food was secondary. Although, If I was paying, I would not have been happy. Sunday brought more disappointment. We returned to Tidal Cove only to find it just as crowded, so we again headed to the adult pool. While relaxing, a woman brought her small dog to the pool. Marriott may allow dogs on the property, and I have no issue with that, but she actually let the dog swim in the pool. Another guest complained, yet the dog remained in the water while the owner loudly argued. Soon other guests started bringing their dogs down to the pool. Again, not one of the workers around the pool said anything. A resort pool should not become a dog park. I had been given a 3:30 p.m. late checkout, I was so disgusted that I left at 1:00 p.m. At checkout I told the front desk exactly what I had witnessed. Then came the final frustration. Self-parking is advertised at $45 per day and was supposed to be charged to my room. Instead, I paid at the garage exit. My ticket showed I entered at 1:46 p.m. Saturday and exited at 2:02 p.m. Sunday--just 20 minutes over 24 hours. Rather than charging the daily rate plus perhaps a small overage, I was charged $74.90. I made my husband stop at the parking office where I spoke with Rachel. She contacted the manager, who assured me the extra charge would be removed. A week later, the full $74.90 posted to my Visa with no adjustment. I've tried to call the hotel directly and every time they forward the call to accounting, no one picks up and call drops. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but between the overcrowding, dogs swimming in the adult pool, and the parking overcharge that was never corrected, this stay was extremely disappointing. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member who chooses Marriott whenever possible, I expected far better customer service and management. Unfortunately, I will never return. There are other Marriott Resorts in Florida that are so much nicer.

Had a full washer/dryer in that doorway area, but no kitchen or living area like the larger suite I had previously. Views were good, more sun exposure this time. Pigeons kept landing on the balcony, which was super annoying if you wanted the door open to bring in the ocean breeze. The thermostat didn't work properly on cold days as the heat just didn't seem to want to work and just blew lukewarm/cold air. However I will say the fan noise helped mask neighbors and outside sounds. It sucked there was no fleece blanket available as the bedding feels synthetic/nylon-like, which was disappointing and challenging feel comfortable. Elevators are still a problem throughout the stay: It was shaking during as it went up and down, you didn't know what floor you were on, you didn't know if it was going up or down, and continues to be so noisy when going up and down as it passes the levels. The hotel service desk was great and treated me well throughout my stay; no issues whatsoever. Still annoyed with having be forced to valet park, but I enjoyed the fact that you could request your car easily through web service link they provided so you don't have to wait long. Overall, not perfect but a good place to stay as a Hilton member, and I don't feel like the cons outweighed the pros.

Green fees were $295 and club rentals were $85. From the view of my hotel room I can see the driving range as well as the 18th and 12th holes. When I checked into the pro shop the staff was rude and very unhelpful. Not even a smile to say good morning. I gave them a pass since it was early in the morning and they had a tournament on the Soffer Course. The course is a resort course so play the blue tees if you're used to playing white tees. 5094 yardstick the whit tees vs 5789 yards on the blue. Overall the course is maintained like a muni. The sand traps were raked well and not heavy. Lots of trash and construction around the course. On the back 9 they had the sprinklers on and I had to drive though and get wet. After the round when I went back to return the clubs the man at the pro shop never asked how my round went. He was just going through the motions. Sad customer service. With paying all most $500 for the round I would expect better customer service and a course that should be in tip top shape. Lots of construction on the course and noise from the machines. Not worth the price. Go play elsewhere.

I had very high expectations for this stay because of the name -- Trump -- and as someone who is…read moregenuinely a fan, I expected excellence across the board. Unfortunately, this experience did the opposite and actually tarnished that expectation. Out of the four different places I've stayed at in the Miami / Sunny Isles area over the past four years (always visiting in April for my birthday), this property ranks last. Let me start with the one bright spot: Avas from guest services was absolutely wonderful -- attentive, kind, and truly the only part of this stay that felt aligned with what you'd expect from a higher-end property. Everything else was, frankly, underwhelming. The elevators are extremely slow and almost always packed, making even simple trips up and down frustrating and time-consuming. One of the most disappointing policies was not being allowed to bring breakfast (which was included in my paid package) to the pool area. Coming from New York, where I'm indoors most of the time, I specifically come to Florida to enjoy being outside. Being restricted like that felt unnecessary and honestly a bit childish. Service was inconsistent. Calling the front desk often meant no answer, and when someone did pick up, I was told things would be handled "right away" -- yet it would take hours, if anything was done at all. The layout of the property is also incredibly inconvenient. The pool and beach are not on the same level, requiring stairs and making the flow between areas frustrating. Everything feels far from everything else, which takes away from the relaxation you're supposed to feel on vacation. For a place that promotes a signature piña colada, it was surprising (and disappointing) that they were out of coconuts. There was also a clear lack of communication among staff. I received conflicting information multiple times and often had to figure things out myself -- whether it was locating services like jet skis or even getting clarity from the salon downstairs. Beachside service was another major issue. Food that was ordered took about an hour and a half to arrive, and it was clear there were very few waiters on staff. The team that is there is working tirelessly and doing their best, but they're clearly understaffed -- and unfortunately end up on the receiving end of frustrated guests when they don't deserve it. This is a management issue, not a staff issue. And lastly, the towel situation was excessive. There seemed to be constant monitoring and pushback -- you can't take towels upstairs, can't bring them to the bathroom, and are repeatedly stopped and asked to return them before even leaving the pool or beach area. It felt unnecessarily restrictive for a supposed luxury experience. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations. With a name like this, you expect a seamless, elevated experience -- not constant inconvenience, miscommunication, and limitations.

Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from the moment we arrived. We got there early and were told the hotel would hold our luggage while we walked to Aventura Mall for lunch. That seemed helpful -- until we returned to check in. Our luggage was nowhere to be found. Staff gave us three different stories: first that the bags had already been delivered to our room, then that they were "on the way," which they weren't. After an hour and a half of confusion, my husband finally went to the luggage holding area himself and found our bags sitting there. The lack of organization was unbelievable. The bathroom wasn't dirty, but the shower was a terrible prison shower -- extremely low pressure and water spraying everywhere except my body. I also hate this hotel trend of the toilet having a glass door. This is dumb and the trend needs to end now. I am very close with my family but I don't need to see me in that way or have that level of visibility. Other problems during our one night stay: - Room service not offered despite being listed on the website - Laundry room is "free" but only has 1 washing machine and 1 dryer for the whole hotel and the vending machine for soap was broken. - Dirty drinking glasses in the room - A leftover water bottle in the trash from the previous guest I was only staying one night so no I didn't bring any of this up with staff (except the luggage stuff - that was important) but I am not staying here again. The only "benefit" of being a Hilton member was being given a room temperature bottle of water in 90 degree Miami heat and humidity. My search for a pre-cruise Miami hotel continues.
