We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills hotel. It was located very close to Oral Roberts University, where my husband was set up with the fossil show. Parking for guests is located on the west side of the building where parking in the front of the hotel is paid parking and I believe it's owned by the people that own the venue attached to the hotel to the east. Our room was very pleasant, large and very modern. We were up on a fairly high floor so we did not hear traffic outside even though it was very busy. Our room rate was about 180+ a night and did not include breakfast. They do have several bars and restaurants in the hotel where guests can dine. We ate in the bar rather than go out that Friday night. My husband also ate the buffet breakfast the Saturday we checked out. It was expensive since it was a buffet. They did feature a Starbucks in the hotel for people who wanted to eat for less. read more

This poor place is so incredibly understaffed. I was there a few nights and it was obvious that "someone" (manager), needs to be replaced. One, worked to a frazzle man, is bartending, taking food orders, AND delivering those food orders for room service! The Starbucks wasn't ever open at the advertised times. I went to have breakfast in their other restaurant and chose to order off the menu instead of the breakfast buffet, and that was a big mistake. The middle aged Asian man that took my order was sorely lacking in any customer service training. He brought me a room temperature coffee carafe that I sent back, then had to ask him 3 times if my omelette would be coming out soon. 45 minutes later he brings me an over cooked brown omelette and cold hash browns that had obviously sat around for quite a while. I took a couple bites and asked for my check. He couldn't care less. Now my room--the toilet flushing handle was just hanging out of its hole. Very difficult to flush without having to reconnect it each time. Pretty amazing that housekeeping didn't have that fixed. I called the desk to have it fixed and no one ever showed up. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. Too dim. My room faced a large empty parking lot area that had loud banging noises every night until 10-10:30PM EVERY night. One of the most amazing hotels in Tulsa area. It's huge with welcoming reception area. Spacious rooms and very large multiple lobbies across. My friend and I decided to eat lunch in the restaurant and ordered the veggie burger. The chef came out and apologized and offered to make curried pasta with veggies instead. Simply delicious and one of the best pasta's I ever had ! It was served with toasted pita - which was equally delicious. The chef was kind and modest. I visit here once a year for a week or more. This year the changes had me a bit puzzled they have sectioned off an area that used to be free and it is now a pay-for-parking area. They have implemented valet parking and you can only park for free to the side of the building which can be an inconvenience to elderly or handicapped personnel. During my stay, they had a water leak which required my water to be out for approximately three hours. The elevators went down causing us to have to use the service elevators. The a/c also was up and down on the fritz during my stay. I get there are not many great food options in the area, but the prices on the menu for some items are just ridiculous. I got chicken tenders for the kids and they were bricks. I had a decent BLT, but the fries were undercooked. I will end with positivity as the staff attempted to navigate the hurdles, the water in the lobby was great, and the lavender spray for the pillows did the job. read more

Yes! As soon as we walked in, the fragrance smelled good. The host was welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. He engaged in class conversation and was super friendly. As soon as he greeted us, he offered us a drink from the fridge. We checked into room 325. The room was spotless and had plenty of towels. I like Springhill Suites. Their rooms have an area with a couch, desk, chair, microwave, mini fridge, and glasses, not cups, for drinks. This property has soap, conditioner, and body wash pumps that smell good. The shampoo has peppermint oil in it, so it makes your scalp feel tingly while washing it. read more

This hotel is relatively large for the area. 11 floors with a nice lobby upon entrance. The 11th floor houses the M lounge which offers drinks for purchase (thought I'm unsure exactly how this is regulated as one has to write down the drinks they received themselves) and an okay breakfast offered in the mornings. On the 3rd floor, one can find the pool, better than average hotel gym, and a small sun deck with a few chairs. I had stayed in the King suite room which is comparable to other Marriott hotels. I had appreciated that the water got considerably hot though my shower doors would slide to one side only and I could not slide either door to close the other side properly. The pillows were a tad uncomfortable, however, I appreciated the "sleepytime spray" they provide in the room. As for parking, they offering valet in front of the hotel or one can park right next to the hotel for free. I'm unsure why one would pay for valet when the complimentary parking is so close. However, I appreciated that the valet workers had opened the door every time when entering the hotel (though there was an automatic door right next to it). read more

For the amount of money this dump charges, you would think hospitality would rank higher on their priority list. 1st off our room had a slow draining shower which forced me to pop open the cover and allow it to drain faster and delay others a shower as the tub was about to overflow. 2nd, hot water in a timely manner? Was not the Marriott experience I grew to love and appreciate. Rated it two stars because it seemed to have 2/3 star hotel standards with 4/5 star hotel prices. We were on a road trip and booked with the Marriott because of the name brand image. It did not stand up to it. Initially we had a mix up of hotel rooms, they sent us to a twin when we booked a king. That by itself isn't an issue, things happen but when we went down they gave us a hard time saying our booking guarantee a twin and we did t book the king when our booking receipt clearly says king bed. The rooms ambiance was fantastic, low lighting nice space with a beautiful TV. Until we took a closer look. The bed sheets were stained. The low lite raised the atmosphere but it seems like it was intended to hide the mess. We decided to go to the pool, the ground was not clean. Again maybe acceptable but with a closer look there was mold all over and dead insects in the pool. We were too disgusted to step inside. . read more

Family met in Tulsa for the Thanksgiving holiday and we stayed at this Marriott. We decided to make a reservation for their thanksgiving brunch/lunch; $60 per person and they offer senior citizen discounts. I'll be honest, I did not have high expectations for a hotel buffet; however, I was pleasantly surprised! The attached video only shows a portion of the offering...all the traditional holiday side dishes plus turkey and ham carving stations, traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, French toast, waffle), full omelette bar, bread station, seafood station (lobster bisque, crab cakes, peel shrimp, and smoked salmon), salad bar, and a variety of desserts. My only feedback is the food was lukewarm but guess that's kind of expected from a buffet. Honestly, everything I ate was very good (and I'm pretty picky). If you don't feel like cooking and want to just enjoy friends/family for the holiday this is a must go! read more

Pretty much the entire staff acts like they have better things to do than to serve the customers. Because there's nothing else around there we basically ate our meals at the bar and restaurant there at the hotel three straight days. Generally speaking, they had one person running the bar and waiting all of the tables and bussing everything else. So to start off with they were understaffed. Then it seemed like the person would disappear for several minutes at a time. Front desk manager named Phyllis was about as grouchy and rude as they come. She was so bad I felt compelled to reach out to the property manager named Greg. He responded with no empathy whatsoever, and in fact, singled out Phyllis as an exemplary and model employee! :-) so now we sort of understand what's going on with his property. It seems to start at the top and trickles down with this type of attitude. The hotel itself is actually a decent property with nice and clean rooms. Toured this location for our 2020 Convention and are very excited we chose this venue! The staff was exceptional! Our tour included all of our options and additional ones too that we may add on. The large meeting room is very spacious. The smaller rooms will be ideal for our breakout sessions and small group meetings. They were clean and professional. The lobby area is welcoming and modern. The room options were amazing! Suites, singles and doubles along with hospitality suites give convention attendees many options. Swimming pool and exercise room were beautiful and another plus for this location. Shuttle services are also included. Excited for July 2020! read more

This is a terrible Marriott. we booked as part of a room block. were placed in a handicap room. We asked to be moved to the room type we booked and were told they over sold. when we called to speak with the manager, we were told one wasn't available and they didn't have any more rooms. then, the ac didn't work over night. a staff member, April, told us we should have called maintenance overnight. we again asked to speak with a manager and again one wasn't available. we had to leave for a scheduled event. 4-6 hours later, a manager called me back. Tea refused to refund us and just added some points. overall this was a terrible experience. they are clearly understaffed and have zero customer service training. stay elsewhere! read more

I am surprised by the low ratings, as we had a great experience here this past weekend. My friend is Marriott Platinum and scored a great deal at just about $100 a night. This came with breakfast buffet coupons for my hubby and I each morning of our stay. PLUS a late check out ;) The hotel itself is very spacious and elegant. The architecture is beautiful and the interior decorating makes you feel like you are at a resort. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Although, the woman at the omelette station goofed up my omelette each morning, as well as my husband's. It was strange because we were the only people in line and she repeated the order back to us. Oh well, it was still delicious and FREE. Our room was really comfortable. I appreciated the q-tips and cotton balls in the bathroom. I realize that is an odd thing to say, but I have never seen that before! So thoughtful. We had one issue during our stay- the shower drain drained extremely slowly. I called this in, and the woman on the other end of the line said, 'can I send someone up right now to fix it?' That is incredible service. We will be back! read more

The elevators did not work and we had to use the service elevators. There was broken glass all over the floor, and I felt bad for the employees because we were invading their space. We waited five hours to get our room, and I should have listened to the reviews on here.. they truly have to wait until check-in to get your room. There is NO early check in. It would have been okay if they were upfront and realistic, instead of telling me it was 10 mins, 30 mins, shortly, few minutes. They ended up giving me an ADA room and overall beautiful hotel, but the operations needs to be improved. read more

Here are some critiques that need some attention, even after my recent stay at Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills that had recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. Buffet - For an all you can eat buffet, I expected a lot more for my $20. Prices are absolutely insane! - There was absolutely NO sign that waffles were available on the buffet table, but it seems odd that the "chef" has to make them for you behind the counter. - The "chef" doesn't even wear a mask while she works (unlike every other waitress and wait staff working). Front Desk - A ring bell is desperately needed when employees are in the back office and customers need assistance. - Asked to borrow a pen at the front desk. The employee just stared and looked at me like I had four heads. I repeated myself but a bit louder thinking she didn't hear me. She took a few steps back and told me to calm down. Another employee came over and asked how he could help, so I mentioned I had only been asking for a pen and he happily obliged. - Certain employees know what they're doing, while others don't nor are helpful. Rooms - My hotel room was well cleaned prior to arrival, so no issues there. - The rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. - Room was either too hot or too cold. Last 2 nights of my stay, I turned on the A/C and it never kicked on. It was so warm I was sweating. Shuttle - Had no idea that their "free shuttle" that they advertise needs reservations prior to using it. - Would be helpful if the shuttle driver helped load/unload your luggage into the shuttle. Don, whom I met yesterday morning is a superb ambassador for this company. I was in a hurry to get to the airport on Sunday morning and Uber weren't answering nor were there any available cabs from the major sources. I needed urgent help; I urgently needed help to get to the airport. While waiting in line to talk to Don, I observed him handling a very angry and unpleasant customer. He was patient, sensitive and very tactful. Anyway, my turn and Don could not have been more helpful. Whilst I was on the phone making panic calls, he quietly noted down a few other options and contact details for me, one of which worked. I got a cab and caught my flight. Don cared. Very impressed. Only drawback to this hotel was that check-in isn't until 4:00pm. I've never known one to be so late. And you know how most hotels will let you in an hour or 2 early? Absolutely not here. But the room itself was nice and updated and clean and even though we were right across the hall from the ice machine, it wasn't loud. Wonderful breakfast buffet with fabulous service, and a cute little gift shop on site. I'll probably stay closer to downtown next time I'm in Tulsa, but this is a good hotel in a good central location for a fair price. read more

The beds sleep great staff is friendly. The exercise equipment is well maintained. Pool leaves a little to be desired paint pealing not very warm. They no longer have a hot tub but do have a dry sauna. *DO NOT STAY HERE* I spent over $208 for a single night in a king suite on the 9th floor, I was very very very upset with my stay, but I paid and checked out the next morning. 11/30/2021. I was emailed by Marriott to submit a survey of my stay, I submitted my review/survey with all honesty in how displeased I was with the stay. I could hear the elevators open and close all night, nonstop. I could hear every single intoxicated person coming back to their rooms from 11pm-3am. I could hear my neighbors hour long phone call with someone on speaker phone, and even the lady on speaker phone. On top of trying to sleep through all of that, I was awoken by multiple peoples alarms, from the room next to us, above us, and across from us. I got collectively 2 hours of sleep. When Marriott ASKED ME to submit a review, which I did. Aimee Gibson emailed me with the most disrespectful condescending response I've ever received from a company in my life. She offered no compromise, no mediation, nothing. She was beyond rude, and disgusting. I am MORE LIVID since her response than the actual stay itself. The Marriott does not care about you at all, they only care about collecting their money. She ensured me that they would still take my money, without offering anything to help accommodate me. I will be contacting her in the following days to speak with her supervisor for the blatant disrespect for customers. She did not address any of the concerns in the survey that MARRIOTT ASKED ME TO DO. it's hilarious because I even took a picture of the notice in the inside of the elevator which states, "to be quiet on guest room floors" but there was no quiet, it was constant all night for hours on end. I worked a 10 hour shift with 2 hours of sleep because of how noisy it was. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, your car will be broken into just like the 5-6 cars that were broken into the past few weeks. They won't accommodate anything that happens to your vehicle, regardless of being on the verge of the most, statistically violent part of Tulsa. +decent room with fridge and big tv +they have an awesome chocolate cake dessert a la mode at the downstairs bar/Starbucks near gift shop +decent gym with sauna and it said a yoga deck but did not get to see it since it was closed at night +shuttle driver was very kind and upbeat (shuttle will drive you to almost any place within a 5mi radius, starts at 630am so it is better to schedule an Uber if your flight is before 6am, scheduling lyft is not available that early) +connected to a restaurant/bar. We watched the packers v patriots game and apparently this spot is the home of the packers club -hotel staff were mostly rude and clearly did not care or just give off a tone that they don't like their job. (Sylvia was the absolute best to work with and such a joy to interact with when it came to event coordination) -Heater didn't work in my room and requested inspection/maintenance, no one actually went to inspect it. By the time the work event was done I was exhausted and didn't want to wait another hour or so for someone to try and fix it -usually leave the do not disturb sign and just opt for Marriott points, Friday needed trash clean up and dishes from the lounge cleared out of room, came back to room at night and all trash and dishes still there only bed was made. By this point, I might be tired of incidental fees, and sketchy internet... and I am. This hotel wouldn't allow me to even have a room key, without paying for the $50 incidental fee.I'd be sleeping in my car, tonight, if I hadn't paid the $50.00. My work is having me here, and forgot to issue me the corporate card for the hotels. Big oops. Atleast with the Marriott, they allowed for cash, which I had, and they insisted I will have it returned when I check out. I do wish they would just add the damn fees on the nightly price, they might as well. I'm not going to run off with their ugly towels of bedspread. You're effing kidding me. The room is gorgeous. There is wonderful smelling soap and shampoo, and the coffee/tea station is nice. The t.v. is large, and the room is easily made warm. The lighting is so/so. The internet service is fast, both wireless, and wired. There's a refrigerator, but no microwave in the room...uh... restaurant left overs? I'm seriously going to ask if they have an available microwave. They don't have continental breakfast that is free. I won't be paying $8.00 for their breakfast, the choices are disgusting, and not worth my paying for it. The inside of the hotel looks like the Weston in Kansas City. There's a Remington restaurant (that I can't afford right now, cause they took my $50.00 for incidental fees). I'm giving them 2 stars, cause of the incidental fees. Not worth the fees. When I travel to Tulsa, which I do and will, I won't be staying here. There's a cluster of hotels, which I choose, and I will choose, instead of this one. read more

Can you imagine what it's like to check in to your hotel room, lay your head down after a tiring day of throwing the aerobie, and finding a hair (that closely resembles a pube) on your pillow? Can you imagine taking a shower after a tough workout, washing off your sweat only to realize it's all gathering in the tub because they drain is working at 10% efficiency? Can you imagine taking a hot tub after sitting in a car for 8 hours, only to wreak of chlorine over the next two days? Can you imagine needing to get up to your room to relieve yourself, only to realize the elevators broke down and people were trapped in it? Can you imagine trying to fall asleep before your 5:30am wake up only to hear every spoken word from the room next to you? The walls being so thin that you even can hear the intense pee stream from your well-hydrated neighbor? Can you imagine trying to get some work done in your hotel room only to hear the cleaning staff screaming and laughing outside in the hallway for hours? Or how about how every cleaning staff member -- whether it was downstairs at the gym or in the hallway -- had their iPhone blaring music constantly? Well, I can imagine all of it. Desks with lamps had plug in spots, tv rotated all around, great selection of channels, smoke free bldg, very clean, great bathroom with paul Mitchell necessities, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and coffee with accessories,very comfortable big beds, 12 noon checkout time without any harrassment calls rushing us, and an indoor pool open year-round, breakfast provided in a nice clean lobby, and across from many stores including the mall. One neg thing was a $20 charge on card a week later which i called and it was removed but it was called an incident charge that happens but will come back off later. read more

What I saw on the floor on day one, stayed there day 3.... My room of course same situation no vacuuming, and dusty. This is essential cleaning that needs to be done daily was not done here. On Sunday, I walked to the front desk and ask them where the sports bar was located and if they served food. The guy at the front said yes they do. It's located back here. As I got there it was closed! I came back and told the guy,'did you know it was closed today, he said yes. Then why didn't you tell me before waking over there!!?!!! ' Couldn't wait to get those three days over with and get back home. There's nothing worse than leaving your home and having to stay in a dirty unkept hotel. I definitely do not recommend read more

Recent stay 10/14-10/17. Don't let lobby fool you. Have stayed @ many, many Marriot properties. Current status is Titanium in Marriot's loyalty program. Main concern, could not turn off or adjust a/c for first day an half of stay. First night I attempted to call guest service number for 15 minutes, finally got thru. Was told maintenance man would arrive in Am and extra blankets would be sent to room ASAP. Neither EVER HAPPENED! We were literally freezing entire stay! Although in to second day you could slightly adjust a/c, a small improvement. Housekeeping services only occur after 3 night stay???? I have never seen this as a policy in a full service hotel.No directive or instructions were given how what to do with dirty towels, how to get fresh towels or linen if needed, dispose of trash from room? Disgusting! At least provide your guests with a bin for dirty towels and a way to empty garbage and retrieve fresh towels. Good luck getting anyone to answer phone so you could ask questions or get clarification. Stayed on 10th floor, where was concierge lounge? Why was Starbucks only open about 3 hours every morning, if @ all? No more airport shuttle? Save your money, stay anywhere else. read more

My only reason for three stars is the lack of strength of the Wifi. I must say, there's a drastic issue when a hotel such as the Marriott (in 2015) doesn't have strong wifi. I also found several hairs on the pillows and in various places throughout the room. I am a fan of cleanliness and that was just gross. If my husband wasn't required to stay there for his convention, we would have been somewhere else. One good thing that I appreciated was the shower head. It was very soothing, the temperature got very hot and I was able to relax while showering. read more

If I could give this place a NEGATIVE FIVE I would! To whom it may concern, On June 2, 2019 at approximately 2:38am I went the Marriott Hotel in the Southern Hills Area of Tulsa. I made the decision to go to what I deemed to be a stellar establishment, to secure lodging after a most grueling day; only to be met with blatant racism from an individual named Matt and another of his co-workers. Throughout the course of my life, I have often heard of other persons accounts of racially charged incidents, but myself personally, have never been the recipient of said shenanigans until now. The belligerent mannerisms and responses that I received was unnecessary and definitely uncalled for. However, I maintained my sense of decorum whilst in the midst of the involved individual's tirade against me. This is the synopsis of what occurred. Performing my due diligence, I went online as well as called to inquire about the various availability for room accommodations, confirming that some were definitely available before I arrived. So, I was already knowledgeable of the fact that some were available. But I inquired anyway not disclosing the information that I had already obtained. I was met with "we don't have any rooms", so I then inquired about their suite availability and was met with "No! We don't have anything available". I'm not from here, so driving around trying to locate other hotels at 3am was a bit far-fetched and out of the question. So, I then asked, "Can you look in your system and see if any surrounding Marriott's have anything available?" A resounding loud "No", was shot in my direction. I then asked, "are you sure?" I'm trying very hard to overlook this man's attitude as I just simply wanted to get a room and lie down. I asked was he sure because I've had other hotels to look up similar information in the past, as well as having other Marriott hotels to do it and it's never been a problem. So, I'm trying to see if this was some type of policy that they had specifically at this location, or that maybe the system was down. That's when he said "No, I'm not gonna look up anything" in a hostile tone, so I asked him "well, could you please call then?" Again, I was met with this mean, harsh No, that I was becoming so familiar with. I responded with, Is there a reason your being so rude? "what's your problem? He then had the nerve to point with his finger extended towards the door "saying, very rudely the door's that way". I asked his co-worker "what's wrong with him? She just shrugged her shoulders and never answered me. The co-worker was feeding off of Matt's hostility and she had increasingly become belligerent and rude as well, but her comments were drowned out by Matt and his boorish behavior. I asked for the offending parties names, because they weren't wearing name tags. I was refused this as well. So, I'm really frustrated internally, careful not to convey any type of emotion so as to not provoke a more hostile outcome. I then calmly asked for their Corporate Number and the General Manager's e-mail and the response was "No, I'm not gonna give you any of that" So I then said, "let me get my phone so I can record you." I ran out and got my phone and was met when I returned with an empty lobby, abandoned by cowards. I recorded empty space for about maybe 5 minutes, so I then said into the camera, "ummph, I guess nobody's gonna come back out." It was around this time that Tim, the security guard came and told me that I had to leave the premises. And I asked him, "Sir, what's the problem" and he stated, "they called me." I then said, I'm not leaving until I get their names. He went to the back and spoke with them and returned saying that they said they're not going to give out their names, and that if I didn't leave within 5 minutes, they were gonna call the police. I told Tim, that I wasn't leaving until I had gotten their names. He said that he didn't know the lady's name but that the man's name was Matt, to which I left. read more

I always enjoy the location of SHM. It is in the middle of good shopping, eating, entertainment and exercising in the south Tulsa/Jenks area. It is close to the Riverwalk and RiverSpirit Casino. There were some inconveniences due to some needed upgrades, but the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The desk staff was very helpful and considerate. There was a huge coaches convention going on at the time so parking was horrible, but that is usually not the case. We are Marriott Rewards Club members and always enjoy the break room on the top floor. We will continue to stay at SHM when we are in Tulsa. read more
